Obviously, we all need food and price comes into factor when selecting where to buy our food. However, today's experience was actually laughable! There were a lot of employees today, most just standing around chatting. I went to the check-out line and the woman seemed annoyed because she had to get off her phone, but she did resume to finish her text message before obliging me. She packed one bag if groceries while I unloaded, but, I typically help pack to make things quicker. I am happy I did because she put my mushrooms at the bottom of a very heavy bag with a large bottle of creamer and other various heavy fruits and veggies. The checker was very happy because that allowed her to get back to her text conversation while she waited for me to finish and pay. The woman behind me even took a second glance. I just shrugged. As I was walking out I was paying attention to just how many employees were standing around doing nothing. I also noticed I was not the only one packing my groceries. One woman even asked a girl to move so she could get by to bag her items into a bag. This employee didn't even flinch. I made it all the way to my car and just laughed. I finally decided to return and locate a manager. I stood at the "customer service" counter for 5 minutes. 2 employees walked right by me and neither one asled if I needed anything. I give up.

A Safeway is a Safeway. They all start out being nice and clean but for some reason they never stay that way. They always end up being dingy and dirty looking. They all have the same prices. It is my experience they always end up just like this one. Dingy, dirty and over priced! It's the world we live in. It's excepted to pay to much to companies that are to cheap to pay to keep their stores clean.

It has good food. There is a Starbucks inside of Safeway. There is good service. The people that work here are friendly. The man in the deli is nice.

Very rude staff. I tried to run in for one item on my lunch break and they locked the door (10 minutes before close) and gave me attitude about having a family to go home to.. so does everyone else. So incredibly rude!!

Johnathan in the deli was the best! He had great customer service and the sandwich was 10/10. Very satisfied with the service and experience at this store!

Friday, the deli department offered an 8 piece fried chicken special for $5. After travelling down there at 4:30 pm, I was informed they "sold out" of chicken. So Monday, they were offering 15 chicken wings for $6. After my experience on Friday, I called the deli at 4:30 pm only to be told they "sold out" of chicken wings. Both of these instances were at 4:30 pm, before dinner. What the hell is going on with this store?

I am writing this Yelp because after a bad Deli sandwich experience about 1 month ago, I thought I would give the Deli department another try. Today I went into the store and stopped at the Deli Sandwich Bar. I was promptly greeted by Jonathan who had a smile on his voice and a friendly greeting. OK, that's the way to start off. I ordered a large sandwich and he made me a beautiful sandwich. By that, I mean he thought about the sandwich as he made it. The spread covered the entire surface of the bread, the meat was laid out so it was on the bread and not spilling off the sides, the cheese was applied with equal precision so it covered the bread and meat. I asked if he would microwave the bacon so it was crisp and he said, "of course". He toasted the entire sandwich, cut it in half, wrapped it and it was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of the sandwich. Jonathan was a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Jonathan for a great sandwich- you obviously take pride in your work and it shows. I hope Safeway appreciates you- you do them proud. Cheers, Michael H. Auburn

Overall, I like this Safeway and I've never had issues. Until today. I have a sinus infection and woke up miserable without any soft tissues. Not feeling well, I waited about 20 minutes for Safeway to open at 5am. While I waited for them to open, one of the staff asked me if I needed help as they were going in to start their shift. I responded I was just waiting for the store to open. Once inside, I made a dash for the bathroom. As said, not feeling well but really wanted soft tissues. Got my box of tissues and the only cashier was the same woman who asked me if I needed help outside. In a snarky, self absorbed tone she said you waited all that time outside for a box of tissues? In my froggy sick voice I told her I have a sinus infection and wanted soft tissues. My head was pounding so hard I couldn't get the right change to give her. What business is it of hers if I wait outside for that? I'm a paying customer and without paying customers she'd be out of work. The nice thing would have been to keep her thoughts to herself. Thanks for being heartless.

This for the deli department... We procrastinated our Easter dinner shopping. So who was out trying to find a ham Easter afternoon? That would be us! After searching around the meat and deli section, a nice man in the deli department greeted us and asked if he could help us find anything. After explaining that we were searching for a ham, he began to give us the unfortunate news that they were sold out. Go figure! After seeing how disappointed I was not to get our ham, he offered his own that he had saved in the back. It was an extra he said. Regardless, Peter in the deli department, you saved Easter! Thank you for extra special customer service! We will try to plan ahead next year! P.S. the ham was excellent!

As someone who previously worked here as of yesterday, I am highly disappointed in how I was treated as an employee. I won't point fingers at those responsible in making me quit, but I will be leaving my memory of everything that they have done: Note: No paid vacation until after a year. I requested an unpaid vacation week mid July with one of the Higher ups, who claimed to have approved it, come time and he claims I never requested. (My mistakes here was not knowing about the online requesting or binder which had written records of requested days off [nobody communicates], as well as asking for it in writing.) After 7 months of working there, one of the higher ups failed to understand I was a Baker and not a Multipurpose Clerk, granted I understand the amount of employees working here, (still understaffed regardless) but I was hired on as the Head Baker's apprentice. My work hours were also being given away to another employee who can only work so many hours due to limitations, this was a clear violation of my Union laws as I am obligated to have a minimum amount of 24 working hours per week. (I was given 20 for a month +) I asked for a raise about a month ago due to me moving as it would be more expensive to get there, the higher up said he'd get back to me the following day, only to not show up that day. So I gave him benefit of the doubt and went to him the next time he was there, to which again, I was met with "can we do this another time?" Understand my point of being flaked multiple times, so I gave up. I had requested another unpaid week off about 2 months prior. After requesting it be approved in advance, I was told it was done, watching the higher up writing it in the binder and confirming it on the computer. I reassured this by coming back to them the following week for 3 weeks all 3 times assuring that I had it approved, only to be denied the week prior after being forced to another department (another union violation). Then I was given a choice, continue working in said department, or continue working as a Baker at another store which would be even further from my home costing more gas on the same barely above minimum wage (talking 30 cents more). These are my experiences here that I found negative. And for those who complain about the employees being rude, it's because of how we are treated, but we have to put up with it. I relinquished myself of this store and do not intend on ever going back. The only thing that kept me going was working in the bakery because I was happy working there. I was happy with my coworkers and serving family and friends as well as other customers who come in. I never will forget Sue and Ashley for being there to help when I needed it and for allowing me to talk about exciting things to keep the atmosphere of the Bakery in a positive place. I even thank Phil, he got me the job in the first place and although it may not have seemed like I was doing the greatest job, I loved every second of it. As for the higher ups, one of the managers and the store director, thank you for allowing me to work here, but don't take advantage of the kindness of your employees. If you want to know how someone is like, take a look at how they treat their inferiors, not their equals. Keep that in mind if you ever decide to read this. Thank you Safeway and goodbye.

Worst customer service. I work late and usually shop here after 8:30pm. The employees here are rude and of no help.

Josh in the sandwich area...great service! I gave him a big order of 6 breakfast burritos and he took his time and didn't rush, and made them better than anybody else I've seen make them. Every time I go to other Safeways, they always rush and aren't very friendly. Josh showed great service and was very nice despite my large order and it being 4th of July. Thanks Josh!
