Got açaí bowls from here and the quality was horrible. The lady working didn't change out her gloves even after being told about a food allergy and the smoothie we ordered literally tasted like almond milk blended with ice as if no other fruit was added. She continued to use the same gloves to ring people and create orders. This establishment used to be a local favorite, but has now become a local embarrassment.

Store does not display price tags on grocery and food items, which violates California retail pricing laws. Actual prices at this store, of course, are a complete ripoff. Avoid if at all possible.

This was our favorite place to stop, it had a little bit of everything. It’s so bare bones now. Two employees running the entire shop, one had to go on break, one employee to run everything by themselves, no sign of the kitchen staff even though online it says kitchen is open from 8 to 5 today. They said the kitchen would be open at 11:30 so we were waiting, then after 30 minutes still no sign of kitchen staff and I heard him tell another customer 30 more minutes so we left. The employees were friendly and nice; not their fault. Very disappointing to see what’s happened to our favorite place.

Someone save this place. At one time this was a destination location to eat and socialize, but I have to say it’s fallen. From the frozen bowls which can’t compete with KRAVA BOWL in any fashion, to the frozen chicken patty being falsely marketed as “fried chicken “ in their Nashville chicken sandwich. It’s a slap in the face. The menu needs a massive revamp! And they need to hire a business person to come in and assist with the direction, and FAST.This was their “loaded fries”Guys- no salt in the fries and no seasoning in your aoli! It’s just sour cream. I know bacon costs, but brush! For $14 you’re making a killing ripping people off here. I’m just gonna go to mission pizza from now on and people should follow.I’ve been coming to Avila for over 15 plus years and can’t believe this has happened to this place.

This place has tanked since it changed hands. The entire vibe has changed and the food has gone up in price down in quality. The atmosphere like the other reviewer mentioned looks cheap and unfinished. So bummed because this place was our go to for tacos and beer when we went to the beach and their açaí bowls were the best around. Last bowl I got was horrible, the base was icy and old tasting and toppings skimpy.

First time here. No hot food was being offered at the time which is what we were looking forward to. The young girl at the acai counter seemed to be annoyed that we were there and not very friendly.Someone else, perhaps the manager or owner chimed in to help retain our business and answer questions. The acai bowl was a little disappointing for the price . We paid $16 for one acai bowl that was 90% some already made ice cream that was scooped into a bowl with a few pieces of banana and pineapple on top. It tasted good but I would not go back based on this experience.

Avila Market has become progressively worse since I moved here two years ago. I feel like I used to spend money at Avila Market but really haven't especially in the last 3 months. Food is subpar and overpriced. They took a favorite dish, the poke bowl, order off the menu so I don't eat there anymore. I would often get a açaí bowl but I feel like there are less options then there used to be. Service is still slow and there new furniture is pretty ugly. Plus they were randomly closed on a Thursday? Not impressed.

Absolutely delicious burgers, chicken sandwiches & tacos!!! The ownership just changed hands but the food is still amazing. They have awesome selection of snacks, candy, and coolers for reach-in drinks. The Avila burger is huge and loaded with delicious toppings. The fries are Crisp and hot. The Carnitas tacos are homemade the night before and the salsa really makes it.

It took 40 minutes to pay for a couple of sodas. I waited... patiently... When I finally made it to the register I was told I "could" go to another line. I'll pay here, thank you. The card machine then asks if you'd like to leave a tip... No thanks!

Avila Market Restaurant & Mercantile, situated in the heart of Avila Beach on Front Street. It's a convenient one-stop shop offering a wide range of options including drinks, snacks, groceries, delicious meals, and even those forgotten last-minute beach essentials. Don't miss out on their superb acacia bowls located downstairs.

The folks working here are nice as can be, unfortunately the new owners have completely ruined this place. Definitely cutting corners and costs on their food and what is now being served is pretty much garbage. I feel bad for the employees as they know what's coming across the counter amounts to low grade dog food. For a good laugh, order the "avocado toast"

An unexciting place to eat breakfast. DD had a burrito, which she liked. I had a regular breakfast, and it was just ok. Served in a cardboard box. Bacon was good, but the rest was nothing great. No bread, so a brioche roll was substituted. No butter or jelly and had to get up and get that, as well as salt & pepper. Eggs were ok, but nothing special.

Service was wonderful and the cook was super sweet the food was tasty. We had the fish tacos and the bbq pork sandwich. Fries are good too. The bun is ok on bbq pork. The new menu is attached. The owner needs more options on the menu. I know they just took over this place but I was going here for the chicken avocado wrap.

The food was alright. American cheese was not as good as cheddar and the English muffin was not toasted, but the chilequiles bowls were good. They made a mistake and added an extra item to our order. They refunded it but they did not let us keep the extra item, even though the confusion disrupted our breakfast. Mistakes happen, but they should have made it right with is by letting us keep the extra item since it was their mistake.

We stopped in to buy water. A gallon of Crystal Geyser water had a 500% markup so a bottle you usually buy for $1.00 cost $5.00 plus tax. We figured there would be a markup and still made the purchase. As we were walking out of the store, a woman sitting at the back of the store, asked us if we had been helped because she didn’t see us pay for the water. My husband and I are 50 something’s visiting the area and we wouldn’t walk out without paying for something. I didn’t quite hear what she was saying as I was walking out of the business and had I heard what she was asking, I would’ve left the water and asked for my money back.
