a most unpleasant experience, an unfriendly lady, a reservation made and pay that she did not want to give us. a real scam. I strongly advise against this agency, go to Victor city.

We made a reservation, and on the day of collecting the vehicle they told us that they had canceled without notifying us by email or telephone. The receptionist did not seek a solution from other agencies around us. They left us without a solution.

Staff did not know how to process international (canadian) license, AVOID AT ALL COST. Coordinated pick up at opening (0900) in advance, customer rep (michelle) arrived at 0910 to open store. Once opened, she informed us that she can't process canadian licenses (license # and postal code) to rent vehicles. We went to AVIS website to verify, and informed her that it indicates that AVIS does accept canadian licenses along with a couple other international licenses. She proceeded to say that the system to process interntinonal licenses has been down for a couple months. When further questioned, she informed us that she doesn't know how to and her manager knows, but they won't be coming in today. She then recommended that WE call the customer service line to figure out how they can process an international license. I was taken back from this, as I thought figuring out how to process international licenses would be for them to sort through their internal customer service line. 0 effort given to problem solve. We checked the reviews of this location and realized it was not worth it as many other customers stated they had issues with returning the vehicle (extra charges) and decided to not do business with AVIS again. We had to scramble last minute to find other transportation.

I'm giving one star because there is no zero star option.We called the service rep the day before to confirm vehicle availability for Sunday morning because we wanted to drive out to Vegas.To begin with, service rep was more than 10 mins late for her shift in the morning.She didn't know how to enter our details into the system since we had Canadian licenses. Instead of trying to find answers, she was indifferent and showed little interest in trying to figure out a way to rent out the vehicle for us. We asked if she could contact higher to get answers and she bluntly denied. We asked if she could call Avis customer service to figure out how to enter Canadian information and instead of doing it herself, she made us call customer service to find out how to do her job for her. Customer service was also of little help.In the end, as a nail in the coffin, she told us to go to Enterprise car rental service instead, which was closed on Sunday.We ended up not going to Las Vegas and losing $100 USD in room booking deposit. Utterly disappointed with the customer service at this location. On our way back to our hotel, even the Uber driver didn't have good things to say about her.Absolutely do not recommend this car rental service.

After placing reservation # 36355370US2 they told me they don’t have small cars, I was told to either pay for an upgrade (a lot more money for less days) or go to Enterprise. She also lied telling me she’s been calling me to let me know but I know she didn’t call.She also needs to learn how to do her eyebrows…! Lol!!Shut up Xavier!!

I rented a car from this Avis In Barstow and I had trouble with two of their cars. The fist car stop on me in the middle of the freeway I could have gotten killed the way the traffic was going. The second car the tire light came on. So I ended up getting 3 replacement cars. The last replacement was good. I looked at my credit card statement and they had the nerve not to give me all of my deposit of 200.00 back.the Avis in barstow has no compassion for their customers all if the of thr trouble that I went through with cars you would at least take some changes off of the rental and give me my full deposit back.A All I can say is that Michelle is a piece of work she is had attitude for no reason. Marlene is new so she was cool.. they just need to take better care of their cars then stuff like this wouldn't happen.

Changed more then on receipt claiming it was a cleaning fee charging $81.56 more absolutely ridiculous they take you for more than they say I will never go to the Barstow one again

DO NOT PAID ONLINE TO THIS AVIS STORE! they will call you immediately to inform you no car for you and your reservation is canceled , for me I canceled it in promise of refund and I call the store office and the lady answered me that she canceled the reservation and it's day 12 and I never seen my money refund yet .It's a joke

Was given wrong info, got taken for more money than originally told. Will not use the Barstow location again. Arrived Sunday 15 min passed closing. Car sat until Monday morning. Took it for car wash, full tank when I did not even receive it on a full tank. She told me there was nothing she could do about the Sunday so I paid the extra. Was told my deposit would be 3-5 days from receptionist. My family has been waiting, I tried to speak with them this morning and apparently they kept my $200 deposit claiming it was for the additional day on sunday, which I already paid. She had no interest in helping me or even being a kind person for that matter. I do not like writing bad reviews but this is ridiculous. Why did I put so much money and time into returning it correctly only to be given wrong information and taken for my money that is much needed for a family. Very upsetting will not use them again. Good luck to future clients

Due to my car being put in the shop had to book a last minute reservation through this location. Michelle called @ 8:27 AM rudely explaining to me that last minute reservations for one ways do not get booked and have to be made MONTHS in advance. I called back @ 8:32 AM and Bertha answered , I asked if I could speak to Michelle but once again spoke to rudely Bertha said she wasn’t in. Which is funny bc I just spoke to her less that 4 minutes prior- I asked about a refund since I prepaid she told me I would have to call customer service. Upon speaking with customer service I was offered a LAST MINUTE ONE WAY vehicle to be picked up out of any other location of my choice unfortunately I had to decline bc I will not give service to this company due to lack of customer service from Barstow location. Employees need to realize their tone of voice and words used are apart of customer service. Michelle should have started off the conversation with, “ Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this location. We have very limited vehicles and for one way trips on the dates you selected we have nothing available. Can I give you a number that may be able to process your request at a different location?” But of course that’s not how it went.

Told us the system is down nationwide, went to the neighborhood Avis, they told us that was a lie. They definitely don't want any customers in this shop.
