Should have known better than to hire them after the driver flipped my husband off a week prior to the move.
I am giving this company one star because, while the initial experience was satisfactory and things were done in a timely manner, it quickly took a turn for the worse when Bobby and her team entered our home. Upon walking through the house, Bobby informed us that they wouldn't be able to complete the move in the estimated eight hours; instead, she claimed it would take at least ten hours plus 2 hours drive and said she would need to call the office to adjust the amount we were quoted when we first signed the contract.
We had packed everything ourselves, as we were relocating from Fort Irwin to off-post. The only task the movers needed to handle was transporting the boxes from our home to their trucks. Additionally, they were responsible for packing and loading our furniture. When I asked Bobby why the time estimate had suddenly increased to ten hours—especially since we were quoted eight hours plus two hours drive—she explained that they couldn’t meet that timeframe. Furthermore, they provided us with an extra mover that we hadn’t requested; we only asked for three. I asked her to clarify whether we would need to pay more and about the additional mover, but she never responded.
Ultimately, including the drive, it took only six and a half hours to complete the move. During the packing process, we noticed that the team took multiple breaks and wasn't careful with handling our belongings. Bobby mentioned missing her daughter's wedding to move us, and she clarified that the reason it only took them less than what we were originally quoted was that they did not take their lunch and brought an additional mover. While I empathize with her personal situation, the timing of our move should not be impacted by her missed events. If they needed to manage their time better, that issue should be resolved internally.
When the movers arrived at our new home, one of our china cabinets was damaged. Bobby took pictures and said her Manager will call me about reimbursement. I asked Bobby, since it only took them eight and a half hours to complete the move- including the drive, if we would receive a refund since they had wanted to charge us more initially for the ten-hour estimate. After a lot of back and forth between Bobby, the office, and myself, I explained how it made no sense to charge me more for a longer move while not issuing a refund for the shorter duration. They requested that I forward the emails stating we would receive a refund if the move took less time. Fortunately, I had kept those emails; otherwise, it seemed likely they wouldn’t have refunded me anything.
To this day, two months later, I have not received any communication regarding my damaged furniture, I also found more after they left but can understand that they only pay for the one they noticed. The attitude from both the office staff and the movers was disrespectful and unprofessional. If you are in the military and considering moving and packing yourself, please do yourself a favor and do not use this company. It was incredibly frustrating that they wanted more money, and when the job took less time, they made a fuss about it.

Don’t waste your time with this joke of a company. They think they own the town park wherever they want. Have a bunch of random druggies loading you out what a great company.

We just unpacked our house at our destination move in - Barstow T&S packed up our house, Dalton and Abel, just the two of them. Our items were packed, loaded, unloaded, reloaded, moved a 2nd time, and unloaded for a final time and not a single thing was broken. I have 2 china cabinets full of glass items that have a tremendous sentimental value to myself and my family and there isn't so much as a scratch on anything. I would recommend them to anyone. This is the first move we have had out of 7 moves that nothing has been broken. We can't say enough good things.

I've been in the Navy 17 years with many moves behind me. You never know what type of crew you will get for your household goods. Barstow Transfer and Storage was designated to pack up my household goods to ship to Japan and I can't say enough AMAZING things about Bobbie, Gregory, and Steve! The three of them were prompt, approachable, FAST, and thorough. They packaged things up in a careful manner, but were extremely quick. It did not interfere with our family and they were done and out of the house as soon as they could each day. I've had some movers at my home previously past dinner time and I had to eat on my lawn. This team was awesome and I know our things will travel to Japan safely and arrive in great condition. It's obvious this team cares about what they do and they understand the responsibility of handling someone's goods. They have the heart and passion to move people. Thank you for such great care! They made this one part of a big move less stressful.

Barstow Transfer & Storage should not be allowed to move or store any military family's belongings. They have zero idea how to ethically and honestly run a business and flagrantly disregard the Claims, Liability and Business Rules they are bound by when accepting a military contract. The harm they caused my family during this PCS is incalculable and the FRV we received for the damaged items doesn't even come close to making up for the pain and suffering and extra expenses we incurred because of their negligence. Their warehouse manager should have been fired for not disclosing a water leak and a military member's items being saturated with water and left untreated. Their crew said that they didn't notify anyone because they hoped everything would have dried out before delivery and we wouldn't notice the water damage and mold because they had weeks until we could take possession. Their delivery process was a sham and they deliberately sought to conceal the situation. The process for restitution made even more difficult due to their inability to respond or properly handle this claim. My family spent three months trying to get assistance and payment and they stonewalled and delayed at every turn. Stay Far Far Away from this company if you are considering using them for moving.

An energetic and informative team arrived ahead of schedule, loaded us efficiently and professionally, and finished promptly. The administrative team had prepared us well so we knew exactly what to expect. These guys ROCK the moving industry!

Moved from Ft. Irwin to Fort. Lewis. So much went wrong. First they were over 4 hours late on loading day, a Friday, almost causing us not to clear housing and be stuck over the weekend til housing opens again Monday. Thankfully housing (on base) sent someone after hours, after the movers finally finished.
They left stuff behind/didn't pack it. We caught it after going through ourselves. A bedroom closet was filled with boxes and packing material, which they didn't tell us about, when ALL items, even the smallest things must be removed from residence. They opened up my daughter's keepsake chest and instead of stuffing padding in it to protect the items inside they put a bunch of her other possessions in there tightly and items were bent or broken. A painting my son made and gave me has 2 large holes in it, due to not being wrapped and put in a box with kitchen pans that put holes in painting with their metal handles. The wood frame of our bed was not protected at all and broke. Our mattress is now on floor. Wood entertainment center hubby built was also not wrapped and got scratched and gouged. Strangely though, they wrapped the couches (soft material of course) in blankets. Several personal plastic totes were cracked and broken. Dining room set is scratched and a leg on 1 chair is totally broken. They stuffed a plastic garbage can in a box, bending it badly, with other items (seems they used the can as packing and it got squished). That's all I can think of for now. Will update after trace and claim is filed. We're also missing 2 totes that were filled with power tools, worth thousands. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND. Maybe they didn't lose/take tools, but everything else was so bad already. Our first time using movers will most likely be our last.
Update- we found the totes. Insurance paid us 3200 dollars for all the damages.
