Bear Valley Adventure Company (BVAC) is a year-round, community-owned business specializing in outdoor activities in the greater Bear Valley area. In the winter, BVAC operates one of the largest cross-country ski, snowshoe, sledding, and tubing venues in the Sierra Nevada. BVAC focuses on bike and boat rental, retail, and service in the summer. In addition, BVAC offers a gas station, well-stocked store, mini-mart, and cafe. Visitors have had fantastic experiences at BVAC. The employees are described as extremely nice, and the food at the lodge, including pizzas and a turkey pesto panini, is surprisingly decent. The tubing and sledding hills are great, especially for families with kids, and the scenery is breathtaking. The cross-country ski trails are beautifully groomed, and the Bjornloppet warming hut offers stunning 360-degree views. BVAC is well-maintained and convenient, with a 24/7 gas station nearby. While the main parking lot can get busy, there is additional parking close by. Whether you're looking for winter activities or summer adventures like biking and kayaking, BVAC has something for everyone. It's an easy drive from the Bay Area, making it a perfect day trip or weekend getaway for an unforgettable outdoor experience.
We had a great experience here ! We did snow tubing along with the kids. Its the first snow for my daughter and she loved it. There is not enough parking..but after some waiting we got the spot.

Great tubing, gets pretty crowded around 11 on but not bad for a holiday week. The 5 min walk to the little lunch hut on a groomed trail alongside the cross country trail is scenic and quiet. Turkey pesto panini was amazing!! Chili and burgers too. Perfect half day adventure. Mountain people are the best people.
