The checkout staff was friendly but the lady with short hair, who seemed to be a manager, was very unhappy and arrogant when she was summoned to resolve an issue with the lottery ticket machine. I didn’t anything wrong but the lady made people feel they should not be coming here for shopping.

I have the worst experience at this store yesterday. 2 of the managers were rude to me. Because I purchased some groceries at the Redwood City Safeway When I noticed I was charged twice for the same item I went there to talk to them. Boy the answer I got was that , you know what it there gains and our loss and she though the receipt at me and said there is nothing I can do. I don’t think this is a way to treat people or handle a situation.

Placed an order and they said I cancelled the order. I then went in person to see if they had it and they didn’t. I contacted customer services and they told me to reorder what I bought, so I did. Minutes later the order was cancelled again telling me that I cancelled the order even though I didn’t. Online it says what I wanted was in stock but why keep canceling the order? Very disappointed.

Cashier lady is inexperience and less interested in helping customer.
Manager lady has the unwelcome attitude issue too in facing customer. Definitely not the first time!

Not sure why the ratings are so low, I personally like this safeway the best and I've shopped all of them on the peninsula. The checkers are very personalable and always seem very happy. In a day where customer service has greatly declined, this store has excelled.

This smaller location isn't terrible, and if I'm ever in a bind or need to go grocery shopping last minute, I am able to buy what I need. Also, if you're a Safeway member on the app, there are barcode coupons to scan and the coupons are actually pretty reasonable. I bought Turkey spam originally $4.99 (ridiculous), but with the member app coupon it was $2.99! I've always had friendly interactions with workers at checkout or at the butcher area. So no complaints there. The store is always clean and stocked up whenever I make my grocery runs .

Lost my pickup order, said the pickup area was locked and would have to be canceled, couldn’t even provide a receipt saying canceled. A disappointing first experience

Cashier made a mistake and management struggled to correct it, then made me feel like a criminal. I'm just trying to eat at a discount.. im a homeless veteran..but I don't use that as a sympathy.Notice item was on last day, LOVE IT or IT'S ON US, LABEL was already ripped off...but ot was sealed... Please Management HAVE A HEART! STOP being so Stricked with Everything. Women are not Robot Overloads , either!

I actually like this store but yesterday was disappointed to see a child on a full size bicycle in the store. Do they actually allow this? Ridiculous. It's annoying and not safe for toddlers or elderly people.

This grocery store is without a doubt one of my favorites! It achieves the ideal combination of high-end and favorite everyday dishes. I appreciate their distinctive and delectable in-house flavors. The meat area is fantastic, with extremely helpful workers. The store provides delectable sampling as well as an outstanding selection of fresh bread. The quick checkout is the icing on the cake for this wonderful shopping experience, making it my go-to spot for my grocery needs.

The first photo is from Oct 15 showing cottage cheese with Oct 8! and Oct 14 due date. No fresh cottage cheese on the shelf. Showed the photo and told about the issue to the cashier.Ok, the second photo is from Oct 22 showing the same cottage cheese with Oct 8!!! and Oct 14 due date. No fresh cottage cheese on the shelf.Guys, nobody has checked the shelf from October 8, right?
