Shorelight Inn is a cute, quiet, and charming bed and breakfast on the water, described as an incredible little gem and a delightful place to stay. It is a historic building located right in the heart of downtown Benicia, smack dab in the middle of the quaint historic area with a great location on the waterfront. The property is walking distance to all of downtown, with walkability to an array of accommodations, tons of restaurants, fun bars, artisan shops, walking tours, and walking trails. Rooms are very clean, fully stocked, cozy, and spacious, often featuring wonderful Victorian pieces and lovely art prints. Some rooms offer great views overlooking the Carquinez Strait, the water, and the distant bridge, with some having a private balcony. Guests note the rooms can look a bit dated and some windows need repair. The beds are firm, but some can squeak. Rooms have no air conditioning but portable units are available on request. Amenities include a mini fridge, complimentary bottled water, coffee, and a soaking tub in some rooms. The staff and innkeepers are consistently described as very friendly, helpful, exceptional, and attentive. The complimentary breakfast is repeatedly highlighted as wonderful, awesome, amazing, cheerful, and full, featuring items like eggs, waffles, bagels, pastries, bacon, fruit, cereal, juice, and great coffee. An evening choice of beverage, like wine, is also offered. The area is considered very safe and quiet, even for those traveling alone. A private parking lot is available at the back, though some guests note that parking is not easy. The building requires walking up some uneven stairs to check-in. While a nearby bar can be loud, closing the door effectively blocks the noise. Overall, it is a highly recommended stay for those seeking a welcoming, relaxed, and rejuvenating visit.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this bed-and-breakfast. The hospitality was excellent. The owners were friendly and treated us like family. We enjoyed our morning breakfast and talks with the owners.
