A breath of fresh air banking with the big banks all throughout my life but must say, Alvin Locsin and his staff at this smaller bank chain is delightful to do business with. Very accommodating and always a pleasure... highly recommend their professionalism and sincere care for their clients ??

I have been with Umpqua Bank for almost 20 years, yet this branch (and corporate) is unable to locate my records. I've been with Umpqua Bank for so long because of the General Manager, Denise Chisley. Unfortunately, Denise has since retired and the rest of these branches have gone to garbage. The manager in the Benicia location is stubborn and unhelpful. He was speaking to me as though I am remedial. It's so sad that after so many years of loyalty, I'm now closing 2 accounts an unsatisfied customer. This is even worse for Umpqua because they are losing accounts and closing branches every day. The Benicia manager is refusing to refund a $35 penalty for a $6.99 over draft. I've recently had a baby and haven't been checking my app everyday. I've never had this issue before because the Bank usually alerts me before this happens as I also have a savings account (with money in it) opened at the same location! However, because the manager is unable to find my old records, he's refusing to reverse this $35 penalty. It's ridiculous!I usually don't leave bad reviews because I hate blasting small business. But, at this point, I'm so fed up this bank. It's frightening to think that they've lost almost 20 years of my bank records.

The 'World's Greatest Bank' advertised on the Benicia, CA branch wall. I tried to access my account & apparently, they changed their criteria for user name and/or PW...& when I was forced to generate a new account, it was a blank slate. I only deal with local banks & credit unions, so it was an easy errand to fix. Not so fast! They were quite dismissive & said I need to call this number. I said, "I'd rather you call that number so that you can verify that my mortgages (plural) were populated on Umpqua's terminal as opposed to me being told over the phone that my computer is the problem". She called the number & the speaker phone said wait time is 33 minutes. About 15 minutes in patiently waiting, a man came out of an enclosed office & said 'I was in the wrong place, & that I need to leave'. You could hear a pin drop (there were no customers in the branch). I left. I don't want to trash the whole bank because the originator of my loans was VERY competent, so this review is pointed at Umpqua Benicia, CA.

I have to have accounts with major international banks (HSBC & BofA)but, many years ago I opened a chequeing a/c with my local bank, Solano. They were taken over by Umpqua, a slightly bigger company, but still small compared to the others. From time time to time, I'd go in the branch & the staff were always friendly. I learned at least one was a notary public. No idea if that's a normal aspect of bank staffing, but I made a mental note. Recently I needed to redo my will (add the first grandchild & exclude an ex-wife) & needed witnesses. Thinking a notary public would be a good one, I visited the Benicia branch of Umpqua; it took three visits & v. useful information from the notary, before I finally had the new will stamped & signed by him & witnessed by 2 staff. Don't think B of A or HSBC would do that! I'd just reviewed the local Ace Hardware & got a response from their owner. I mentioned that to my Umpqua buddies to illustrate how they fell into the wonderful world of local service.

I would give more stars if that was option. Huge thank you to everyone yesterday. The customer service was outstanding and personable. Josh was great with understanding our situation and I foresee a long future for my family and Umpqua.Bank.

We LOVE this bank, and we love the personal relationship we have developed with the staff. My folks had to move down from the beautiful home in the Sierra's due to health issues and hated leaving their little local bank, where the staff knew them by name and gave incredible customer service. Everyone is greatly pleased to have found them a similar situation here in Benicia. These type of folks are the bedrock of a great home-town. They have become friends of ours. Bravo, Umpqua Benicia!!!!

I used the ATM at this bank in Benicia. Most ATMs require you to temove your card before accepting the cash, not thos one. I forgot the card but they refused to give it back. I presented plenty of Identification including Drivers license and car registration other credit cards and even FedEx packages all reflecting my true matching id. It became necessary to get the police involved.. the policy could not be produced..i don't even know that it exsists.. I don't suggest patronizing this bank..

Very good customer service, my only complaint is with the atm machine. Sometimes on the weekend there can be problems.
