Everyone here prioritizes safety and they're all very welcoming and friendly. This is one of the safest places I've had the pleasure of working in. Doesn't stink like a lot of refineries I've been to. And all work places are clean and well maintained.

I guess I visited the plant a long time ago in (apparently) a galaxy far, far away. Because when I went there, the operators, engineers, and everyday workers couldn't have been much nicer and accommodating. Apparently some people believe that they can bust off an internal combustion engine and the go-juice just magically appears from nowhere and everyone loves their gas and diesel as long as it doesn't come from some city they visit. Well, busted hydrocarbons don't work that way. They smell. You work all day long on a short visit, and you feel the place can blow up at any moment. But soon you realize that everyone else works this way on a daily basis, and that's just the way refined gasoline and diesel smells constantly. So get over it. Most everyone used fossil fuels to get to work and back today. Right?...

It's like the old Windows pipes screensaver except it's also slowly killing us. 5/5

It could be better organized and the language clean up a lot but overall it was great to be able to work there.

Drove through and it looked liked the nuclear plant on the Simpsons. Took some pics. Cool to see but wouldn't want to live here! We drove through in the day and at night and we were choking from the fumes wouldn't want to live here!

These crappy reviews crack me up. This refinery was here long before any of the houses around it. Valero has cleaned up the place immensely in recent years. It supports the community by providing jobs. It bends over backwards to appease all their petty whims. ("It smells bad"! It's not a perfume factory. Why did you buy a house so close to a refinery, idiot?) These people have no idea how dependent they are on this and other refineries. They drive everywhere, they use plastics every second of the day. Candles, clothing, shoes, medical supplies, lotions, food prep & preservation, lubricants, cleaners, fertilizers, all dependent on the petroleum industry. Do I love it? No. Would I like to get away from it? Of course. Is there an alternative? Not much. But complaining about it and calling it 'evil looking' is just stupid. If you aren't willing to give up all of the above mentioned conveniences to fix it, don't b*tch.

Very evil looking factory. Would not visit here even if you dragged me. Has a lot of balls too, no one wants to see that!!! Should be dismantled piece by piece, this is why our environment is fading.

They are always trying to pull shady moves with the community. For example trying to put a rail oil delivery which would be dangerous for our community.
