I've been banking with them for years my mom had this account since it was only for state workers then she put me and my sibling on and we've been here ever since my favorite person at the Berkeley branch is Taylor she's awesome funny and is always straight down for business I don't plan on leaving anytime soon

This is the worst credit union ever. Do not bank with them. They don't care about their "members" at all. They will take money from your account when you least expect it. They act like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to bank with them. I have friends and family members who also bank with them but we are all moving on to other credit unions because 1stuscu is the worst. There are much better options out there.

They are always nice and professional. They have online access to your accounts and high yield savings options. No long lines why I have gone there.

I am a member and was around the area on Friday, I was very impressed with the customer service at this location, June was very helpful and had excellent customer service helping me through my transactions and questions. She also connected me to loans dept where Melisa was also super accommodating and helpful. Thank you for a quick and excellent service. I also love the College Ave Branch however I visited the Alameda Branch before and staff needs improvement on their customer service.

I have been with 1st United for years. I have one concern. The branch in Berkeley California on Milvia street has only one ATM. I had to make a deposit over a week ago but the ATM was out of service. I am a 70 year old senior citizen using public transportation. I need to go today but there is no direct line for me to call to enquire as to whether the ATM is operational.

I had a bad experience here trying to setup and new business checking account. I was asked to wait outside until about 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment (I arrived about 10 minutes early) only to be told by the same person that asked me to wait outside that my appointment was canceled because no manager was present. This person could have easily communicated that to me before I was asked to wait outside. Took my business to Mechanics Bank instead and had a great experience.

I have been a member of !st United since the 90's and I have had nothing but good experiences with them. Despite this being a stressful period and the phone lines are very busy, I was able to speak with a wonderful Representative. Fabiola was patient, very friendly and professional. She assisted me and was able to accomplish exactly what I requested within two days!! I am unable to write enough good things about Fabiola or adequately describe my relief after she assisted me.

Amazing service! There was a long line as the ATM outside was not working at it was close to closing and the staff were so kind and patient to make sure everyone waiting was helped. It can be so stressful when you need to do banking at a time like this as a customer, I can only imagine what the staff have to deal with daily. Very happy that I was able to get everything squared away. Thank you!

It took them two hours to simply create a checking account for me and my partner. I think this should take 15 minutes at most. I could forgive that as a one-time staffing ineptitude that happens. But what makes them a bank worth NOT considering is the horrible online banking experience. Their online banking doesn't have basic features. So, for example if I write a physical check and I forget who that check was for when I'm doing my accounting, there is no way of finding out. If a physical check is deposited, it just says "deposit" and the amount. It does not indicate who the check is from. So, if you are doing any basic accounting and need to double check something, you can't rely on their bill pay software to provide info (other banks will address this by having a picture of your check deposited clickable). They've deposited money to incorrect accounts numerous times. The only reason I didn't give them a 1 star is I presume their money is not invested in prisons and stuff like that. I like the idea of a community bank. But my experience with 1st United has been lacking.

DO NOT get a loan with this company. They are the definition of bait and switch. They are all sugar and spice when you first talk to them, but ever since I opened accounts and took out an auto loan with them, it has been a different story. There is always some "other" gobbledy gook story that has to be tracked down and wastes a lot of time. They quoted me a rate when I first applied and then later tried to jack up the rate once the auto dealer had written up the contract. I contested and threatened to walk, and they honored the original rate. Since then, it's always something. The website is clunky and the on line support is very spotty. Gobbledy gook that pretends to help, but does not actually help and sometimes creates more confusion. Since they, I have caught them tacking on false "interest" and fake late fees on payments that I've been well ahead of. If you value your time and your money, don't fall for their tricks. They are just not that good to do business with.

Went to the branch this morning and was serviced by Alicia. She was extremely helpful and friendly! I almost forgot that I was in a bank. The experience was more like going to a restaurant or boutique. Alicia and the other staff were all pleasant and accommodating. If you're in the areas and have banking needs I highly recommend making a stop by!

Today I came in and deposited my check, I needed help with depositing $40 and receiving singles back for one of my twenty dollar bill and one of your employees named Alicia came and assist me with how to deposit my money into the bank and getting singles back for one of my 20s. She was very polite and walk me through the steps.
