One staff was friendly and helpful. When I got rung up by another staff I was surprised not to be offered any samples given what I spent and I saw another customer before me being offered from a whole drawer full of them. It was all very abrupt and it felt like paying at a fast food restaurant which was jarring considering the very carefully calming setting.

Came here a few weeks ago and I was beyond disappointed. We walked in and weren't greeted or acknowledged. During our time in the store, we weren't offered any assistance. This is the first time I have ever experienced subpar service at an Aesop store. Also, during check out, there were issues with the spelling of my name, so the staff member was unsuccessful with finding my account. Had I not asked her to look at my ID to search for my account, she would have just forgone trying. Lastly, I was not offered any samples and when I asked for 2 different ones, even that request was not met. I consider this location my home store, so it is dissatisfying to see the quality of customer service dwindling.

I love my Aesop and I love this location. Recently I had a little issue with a product, went online at 11pm and chatted with their customer service people in Australia... They told me they would forward the issue to my local store and when I got there in the morning it was like I was a celebrity! True to their word, the local store was expecting me, no need to explain it all over again, I just got a quick exchange and an apology for the inconvenience and I was on my way. That was a flawless customer service experience.. Thank You team Aesop!

I have to give a huge shout-out to store associate Jade who assisted me today! They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming and did a standout job educating me about Aesop's products relevant to my skin type. I was so excited to purchase a hand cream and Jade even hooked me up with 2 samples! I left the store feeling so supported and nourished -- Aesop I hope you take note of Jade's top-level skill and positive attitude! 5 star experience!! Yay!

I just bought myself some lotion and soaps from this place for the first time and I've always wanted some but let's be honest, this stuff is expensive. But nonetheless I really wanted to treat myself after a very stressful last two weeks and so I did. However, As I mentioned I'd never bought from this brand before so I wanted to test out their lotions and hand soaps. Jordan who was the only person working there was incredibly patient and kind with me. He took his time and he helped me figure out which ones would be best for me. He even made himself available to other guests all the while still helping me out. It may seem small but he is an incredible employee and is extremely thoughtful and helpful. Thank you again and hopefully I'll return when I can afford it again lol

I have been to this shop twice and have had great experiences both time. I found this soap when I visited my friend's place. She had the Reverence soap and lotion. I fell in love with this scent and needed to have it. Wait how much is it? Oh my! Doesn't matter- I love it that much! The first time I visited it was during the height of the summer Covid-19 surge so they were not letting people touch anything. The woman helped me find the scent and I was on my way home quickly. The second time was on 10/23/2021. I walked in and was immediately greeted. As an introvert- I don't like this usually but I was looking for something in particular and could not locate it by myself. The young women asked a lot of questions. I was looking for a perfume but when I found it - I didn't like it. She asked me what I had in mind (she was patient and kind) and then had a few recommendations and I left with a scent I was happy with. I chose Karst which smells like the ocean. It pairs well with reverence which has a camp fire smoky smell. I left feeling happy.

So happy there's an Aesop store in Berkeley now! Makes it so much easier to stock up on hand soap since I don't have to trek it out to the city. People working are always nice and helpful. I'm usually in and out pretty quickly but I always know what I want. I appreciate the little samples with my purchase. Definitely on the pricier side but you get a good quality product with unique scents.

I love Aesop products, but have never received such unwelcoming treatment in any store as I did today in Berkeley. As someone who also works in customer service in an intimate setting, I was really disappointed and a little astounded by such a rude associate. I never pressure my customers or make them feel they’re wasting my time and I always treat them with compassion; this is a difficult time for all of us. COVID-based rules are in place to protect us, and while I understand how difficult it can be to show up to work in these conditions, making a guest feel completely uncomfortable, unwelcome and like their very presence is an absolute inconvenience was so startling and upsetting I feel very unlikely to ever buy Aesop products in the future. No compassion was at all involved, and instead I felt very pressured to leave as soon as possible and generally had an awful experience, however brief. Please stress the importance of positive and kind customer service to your store representatives because they are the ambassadors of your brand and their attitude is reflective of your company. I hope next time I’m brave enough to approach Aesop, I’ll be met with a much warmer reception. Stay healthy, and be in peace.

I love this cute little shop with beautifully scented soaps. I would never buy them, because I know how to scent my own products, but I really appreciate what they offer. This place reminds me of the Bare Essentials from the 1980's and 90's that sold such goods. I also like the samples on the door. But other than going by to feel good, there's not much that they offer. But it's a cute spot to stop by.
