I rarely leave negative reviews, especially for small businesses, but Ashby Lumber has put us in an extremely difficult position with our remodel.
We ordered doors and windows from them, and from the start, it was nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone for an update. When the order finally arrived — months after their own promised delivery date (this was before any tariffs or supply chain excuses) — they had delivered an incorrect window and door.
They replaced the window fairly quickly, but we are *still* waiting for the replacement door. It’s been weeks of unanswered calls and emails just trying to get a timeline. Meanwhile, we can’t weatherproof the house or put up drywall — our entire project is on hold until this door shows up. We’re displaced from our home and the extra costs keep piling up.
I’m not asking for anything unreasonable — just basic communication and a realistic delivery date. I hope this review motivates Ashby Lumber to step up and do right by their customers.

This place has repeatedly been terrible. Rude staff. Incorrect inventory. Long wait times. Send you to multiple locations for pickup when they actually have the product. And again…the RUDEST staff I’ve encountered in 20+ years of woodworking. I walked out disappointed once again, and wrote my first google review of a business while sitting in my truck in the parking lot.
There are I believe, something like 928474 other retailers selling the same product within a block.

I'm in the implementation phase of a project that started over a year ago. Angelique has been exceptional to work with as we researched new fire resilient materials to work with in landscapes. She is incredibly responsive, thorough, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Really appreciate her patience through our research process, and her follow-up even after delivery! Ashby is lucky to have her on their team.

Ashby Lumber is a top of mind and amongst my favorite go-to local hardware store! I’ve enjoyed the products I’ve bought here, but recently was thankful for their customer service, specifically Charles, who helped me with a fix with a positive attitude. My humble gratitude to the people here!

Based on reviews it does seem like
customer service comes down to who you end up with helping you. So far I’ve had really great experiences there and they have a really great selection of supplies. I’m so glad they are right by my house.

Victor was excellent !!! Victor was extremely helpful throughout our balcony remodel. He worked with us on getting an excellent price for our railing system and all our Tres material. Victor was very responsive and had excellent communication with us throughout the process, he would call us and let us know when parts came in when to expect them etc. We normally buy everything through Home Depot or Lowe’s but going forward I will be giving Ashby Lumber all my business due to the exceptional service Victor provided. I would highly recommended Ashby Lumber and rate them A+

I had a great experience buying several dozen S4S maple boards (for a home interior decor project) from Tony Blomert at Ashby Lumber. Their price was reasonable, and they delivered exactly within the quoted timeframe to my home in Mountain View. And Tony's communication was very responsive, friendly, and thorough. Two thumbs up!

Materials are good quality , but I hade a very uncomfortable problem in that store but Mario Oropeza helped me to solve it. So if you have any concerns in that store, don't hesitate to ask them to clarify it for you. They are prompt to respond.

Went to Ashby Lumber hour before closing on Saturday with a broken deadbolt lock looking to buy a new one. Charles spent half an hour fiddling with the lock... put it back together... and Voila
good as new at no cost. Thanks Charles and Vince and Ashby Lumber.

I've been a loyal customer at this location for over five years, and the primary reason for my continued patronage is Arturo Rodriguez. Arturo consistently provides exceptional sales service, always going above and beyond to ensure I have a fantastic experience every time I visit.

Whenever I go to discount builders, I find whatever I need and the customer service is very helpful and I’m just I’ve been coming here for 30 years. I’ll keep coming back.
