Be forewarned: by no means should you ever do business with Avenue-Berkeley Towing. This has got to be the single worst, most reckless business in the whole bay area. It should be shut down. They will try to scam you, and will be extremely rude while they do it. A lot of rumors about this place, which I won't repeat. STAY AWAY FROM AVENUE-BERKELEY TOWING

f I could give give them negative 25 Stars I would. I went to pick up my personal property after my van was towed expired tags which I hadn't paid because I owed $875 in parking tickets and I don't have that kind of money. They were very rude and callus and told me I could go in one time but hurry up because they were just doing me a favor it was a courtesy according to them well actually it is the law. I lived in my van and therefore I had everything that I owned in it my friend took me to get what we could in one trip and when I went back I was told oh no I told you that you could only go in once don't you remember? Which I responded with a demand letter from an attorney

Honestly, I believe that they pass or not, I know they have not towed me because the police did not want to, they took my car and they towed it away and they did not want to return my personal belongings of course the car is not in my name and the person who was He left for his country and it is difficult for them to return my things and I even give them the title so that they can keep the car. The woman who attends is not how she should do it. Besides, they denied me help in Spanish. It is assumed that the police did not give me anything because they said to take your things you do not occupy anything but for the car you have to pay until that's fine but important things work tools are on the phones etc. I don't think it's fair that even personal things let me get out of the car someone could help me or see what can be done and gone very winnable mind two kisses and they just say sorry I can't if someone knows how to do it please I'll order them Thank you and sorry for all this I would like to put more stars but I can't like this good afternoon

CHP called the company to tow my car after I was in a 4 car pile up on I-80 around midnight. Robert came to tow the car. He was very focused and professional getting by car on the tow truck(it was not easy with my front axle broken and no functioning wheel) But I am most impressed with the service. My phone was out of battery and Robert not only let me use his phone but had me wait in the truck instead of outside in the cold until my ride got there. The next day when I had to come by and get my stuff out of the car, Lenny was equally thoughtful and helpful as my car was tilted and unsafe. He efficiently got a crane, pulled it up to a safe position and gave very important tips so I wouldn’t forget my garage opener on the visor and get the right pictures for my insurance. Thank you guys SooMuch for your thoughtfulness and for making this scary process easier on me!!Service: Car towing

My vehicle was towed for allegedly being in a No-Parking zone. I was able to pick up my vehicle from a nearby UC Berkeley parking lot, where a parking citation (which is being disputed) was attached, but also there was a tent set up by people claiming to represent a tow company and demanded on the spot payment of $220. The receipt I from these personnel has the business name of "Avenue-Berkeley Towing, Inc." of 1429 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley. Upon further research, this company appears to be a sole proprietorship by David Kotolup dba under names such as Avenue-Berkeley Towing, Avenue Towing, or Avenue Towing II.I cannot find publicly available records of any currently valid and executed contracts between the City of Berkeley and David Kotolup, or his associated "businesses." I cannot find David Kotolup or his associated businesses in a State of California business entity search, CA DMV tow truck license database, or in the membership of the California Tow Truck Association. To me, this seems like a shakedown operation by somebody operating under the color of city authority executing parking enforcement.I'm going to continue looking into this with the city council to determine just WHERE did my $220 go! This company relies on an extortion-like business model and shouldn't be trusted.Service: Local hauling

This place is a disgrace to the neighborhood. The property is constantly covered in litter, dumped garbage, abandoned encampments and needles. .They let a giant branch block the sidewalk for THREE months - this is adjacent to a residential neighborhood! They take so little care of their property that homeless people regularly camp in their planter boxes - for the past 4+ years. Please clean up your property as it is a total blight on the neighborhood.

Avenue Towing charges excessively high fees in an environment of no competition. They made mistakes that delayed getting my car for several days and several hundred extra dollars. Stay away if you can.

They said storage was $90/day, but charged me $270 for less than 48hrs. Scummy business! Would only send my most terribly terrible enemies here. But hey, maybe you’re willing to take your chances?

Horrible service, rude workers, hidden fees for things that are their own fault
