We bought Wickander flooring and a linoleum for the bathroom. The installer, Ross, for the linoleum was awesome. The cork installation was not good. I thought I could just ignore it, but after two years it really bothered me so I reached out. The owner was totally receptive and is willing to send the guy out to fix it. When it is fixed I will happily increase my review to 5 stars. Thank you Sinaa for hearing my dissatisfaction and being willing to rectify it.
The floors have been repaired- cracks sealed. It looks much better and I’m very happy. Thank you Sinaa and team.

DO NOT work with this company if you want your project materials to calculated and ordered correctly. They will make mistakes and not refund you based on their errors.
When we initially requested a quote for marmoleum sheet flooring, a contractor came to our house to take measurements. After reviewing the quote, we decided to request a quote for click marmoleum to compare prices. The quote and calculations included the same measurements of the space but with different materials, sheet vs. click tile. We decided to go with the click tile because it was more affordable and the owner told us that we could either work with their contractor or one that we hire. Berkeley Design Center’s contractor sent a quote that did not include baseboard installation and was at least $1,000 more than anyone else so per the owners recommendation over the phone, we hired someone else.
The materials arrived at our house and were installed. During this process it was discovered that 60% more materials(over $400) were ordered by BDC. When I contacted the company they took no responsibility and said that “If we had done the installation and made the mistake of ordering more than typical 10% waste, then we would have refunded the cost of additional material ordered and not used. Since you chose some other installer, you should have asked your installer to determine the correct quantity needed before ordering the material.” This quote is blaming us for choosing a different installer, a recommendation that was made to us by the owner. In all of their emails, they have admitted that you need to order less materials when it comes to sheet marmoleum and click tile, a calculation they should have made, and yet will not take responsibility for their error.

We had a great experience with the staff of the Berkeley design center. We had a flooring project where tiles and hardwood floors came together. We were very well advised on the floor type, and they were very careful and detail oriented throughout the process. We will definitely work with them again.

Terrible experience with this business. I ordered two different colors of square tile for a checkerboard kitchen floor. Half of the tile arrived 1/8inch shorter than the other color, so in order to make it work our contractor had to cut all of the tiles to the appropriate size, resulting in a tripling of the time and costs for installation.When contacting Sinan, the owner, for a refund on a product that was not to spec, he said I was “making a fuss” and would not be refunding the order since the tile was used. If the tile hadn’t been delayed by 1 month already, and we weren’t under a tight deadline I would’ve had no issue returning the tile.This was terrible customer service, and an extremely unprofessional way to treat a customer. I couldn’t recommend this business any less.

Had a very disappointing experience with this shop. Ordered two colors of square porcelain tile for a kitchen floor renovation, checkerboard pattern. Half of the tiles showed up 1/8 of an inch shorter than the other half, meaning clean lines couldn't be achieved. Our contractor had to work a 14 hour day to finish the project because he had to cut all the tiles to the correct size rather than a simple half day job. Given that the tiles were not to the spec I ordered, I requested a refund. Sinan, the owner, refused, and did not take responsibility for the product issue. On the phone, he also said I was "making a fuss," which is an entirely inappropriate way to address a customer. Horrendous experience.

I am very pleased with my new kitchen floor, which is beautiful (see photo), and great to walk on! Roxy was so helpful and professional, and Ross installed the marmoleum tiles perfectly. He is an excellent craftsman and knows exactly how to plan and execute the job. I knew I could rely on both Roxy and Ross to respond quickly to my questions.

He was the one-stop shop that we recently used to modernize a century old, historic house in Berkeley for the 21st Century.Our whole-house remodel consisted of a new expanded kitchen, structural enlargement of the kitchen’s opening, new 3.5 baths and new windows.Sinan favorably performed with deep experience, a great eye for design, functionality and attention to detail, as well as trusted subs who have worked with him on his many projects over the years (e.g., various trades people and structural engineer).Twice Sinan saved me from making design decisions in the new kitchen that would’ve become costly, off-putting mistakes at resale. Moreover, the entire remodel from new kitchen to new baths and re-painted rooms has a cohesive and clean look that honors the house’s historic exterior with an updated, modern interior.

I have been working with the BDC for over 25yrs. They remodeled my deck, my kitchen and 4 bathrooms. Twenty five yrs later they all look as good as new. The material and craftsmanship was outstanding. The service was outstanding.

Working with Roxy and Ross was a pleasure. My refurbish was completely unexpected and they were extremely knowledgeable, personable, ordered and installed my new Marmoleum floor as quickly as was possible and were there every step of the way to touch base, answer concerns and questions. I highly recommend the Berkeley Design Center and will definitely use them again!
