David Service advisor overquoted me by thousands and then offers to seriously purchase my car. Then charges me 400$ for diag and tune up on a blown up engine. Thats right blown engine needs new plugs. Scammer. Illegal is what it is. All i have to do is call B. A. R. Then to top it off I brought another car in and left in service drive Eddie who is thee best told me he would move if necc. So David hops in it. I tell him i didnt say he could drive it. I walk in to the dealership and hear high revving of my brand new car i just bought abusing my car. You over quoted me by thousands then offered to by my car on the side, charged me for a 400 for diag and tune up. Really David tune up on blown engine? Desperate for comission i reckon. Dont go see David. Everyone else there is fantastic. Been going there for decade and will continue.

I brought my Honda Fit in for a routine B1 maintenance (oil change and tire rotation) on Aug 21st. I also informed the staff that I had been noticing a gasoline smell in the cabin when first starting the car and that the engine was idling roughly during some stops. I asked that these issues be inspected before we continue with the B1 maintenance to ensure that the car was in well enough working order to spend money on the B1 service. The staff later informed me that my car passed their inspection and we should continue with the service, as they “could not reproduce the problems” I had described. They suggested I add the 100k mile spark plug package to my service (for $1000) but I declined, as I planned on upgrading to a new car within the next 18 months or so.
That same day after the service was completed, my engine light turned on while I was driving home. I called Honda and they denied responsibility and claimed that anything can happen and that they aren’t able to tell the future. I understand coincidences can happen, but the timing was uncanny. I brought my car back in for further inspection and I was told that a spark plug had ejected, their specialist didn’t feel comfortable rethreading the spark plug, and that I would need a new head assembly for 6k. I was disappointed this had not been discovered before the service considering I had flagged these issues beforehand and now they were telling me my car was essentially unusable after spending almost $400 on maintenance.
I went to another mechanic to get a second opinion. They inspected the car and informed me that there was no spark plug ejection at all. Some spark plugs were loose and would need to be replaced, but none of the threads had been damaged. They believed Honda Berkeley was “taking me for a ride” and they performed the service for much less money than Honda Berkeley had quoted me. My car has been performing wonderfully since.
When I asked management for a refund on the B1 service that I believed was fair considering the situation they refused to do so claiming they can’t predict the future. I can tell you that I’ll never be returning to this stealership again. They are dishonest and absolutely untrustworthy. 0/10 cannot recommend

Amanda and this place are great. Her communication about the issues with my car were clear and consistent. She was extremely patient and helpful and they were able to fix my Honda even faster than I expected. I would STRONGLY recommend this place to anyone who needs help fixing their Honda.

Berkeley Honda Auto Center has taken care of my car since the very first time I brought it in, and I haven’t looked back since.
Before coming here, I had taken my car to two different dealerships, and both dismissed my concerns and didn’t prioritize my safety. I was experiencing a serious issue where my steering rack would get stuck while driving on the highway, and I was constantly told by other places that “nothing was wrong” and that it was just how power steering works.
When I brought my car to Berkeley Honda, I was greeted by Eddie, and from the moment I explained the issue, he assured me they would take it seriously. And they did — it took Eddie and his team just one day to duplicate the issue that no one else could identify. I felt heard, respected, and — most importantly — safe.
Since that visit, I’ve continued to bring my car here for any service needs, and I’m always satisfied with the care and professionalism I receive.

I kept getting phone calls from this place telling me that I needed to call to set up an extended warranty on my car by a certain date. When I called I got the feeling that they really didn't care if I brought my car by or not. I really don't know if I will be considering taking my car there in the future. Probably not.

These guys are the best to buy a new Honda from! Ed Bruns, Tim and the team got us the HRV color ,model combo we wanted and made the whole process so easy. Do your homework, Berkeley Honda does honest straight forward car sales. No scams and dealer add ons that you don’t need. This is our second new car purchase here. Absolutely the best car buying experience. We love our 2025 HRV. Thank you all!

As a long-time Honda owner looking to purchase another Honda, this was by far the worst experience I’ve had across any Honda location I’ve ever visited. Not welcoming, rude, and terrible service. They lost a sale today for it.

I recently took my 100K+ mile Honda Civic in for major maintenance and was really impressed with Amanda. After calling around and getting unnecessary advice from other dealers, Amanda accurately identified the needed services right away. She was friendly, patient, and saved me a ton of time by providing reasonable price. On service day, she greeted me warmly and was clearly well-prepared, making the whole process stress-free despite a slight delay (for which she apologized in advance). I appreciate her honest, knowledgeable approach and would highly recommend her and her team. Kudos, Amanda!

Came here to get Transmission fluid (DW-1) and it was cheaper than any other Honda in the area, and even cheaper than Amazon.

I wouldn’t bother coming here if you’re looking to buy a car. We came to see cars and the salesperson was vague and unhelpful. For example, we asked questions like, “if we want a specific color or trim that you don’t have, will we be able to order it? How long will it take?” All of the salesperson’s answers were “it depends”, and he didn’t elaborate. He stepped off to take a phone call for 10 min and left us standing on the lot, and was unhelpful overall. He didn’t have any business cards and asked for our phone number to follow up, which he never did.
We ended up purchasing a brand new Honda CRV Sport L hybrid at San Leandro Honda instead, as we found their salespeople to be a lot more pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable.

Dont buy used here! Mechanical issues since day of purchase. Most recently i experienced a huge performance decrease in vehicle. With vibrations on idle and whining on acceleration. Brought it in and the “used vehicle tech” determined it was A/C compressor and that my vehicle was running fine and OK to drive. Knowing this was not the case, i asked to speak to the “tech” and was told he was out for a drive and would call me back. 4 hours later i received a text stating i would need to come in to speak to him because he doesn’t call customers. Charged me 225 for a “diagnostic” which was actually just a drive test and what seems like a bad guess. Never had any ac problems with the vehicle. 2nd opinion shop found all motor mounts are bad and alternator is going as well as some issue with front axle. Crazy all you can find with an actual inspection. All in all they have a lazy so called tech who doesnt seem to take the customers experience with the vehicle seriously, and a service team who will stand behind him and make you feel like you dont know a thing about the car you drive everyday. Make your 2nd opinion your first, do not take your vehicle here.
