Even if you're not planning to buy any plants or soil products, you should check out Berkeley Horticultural Nursery anyways.
Huge offerings of pretty much every type of plant out there, including a massive succulent and cactus section.
About 30+ types of maple trees, endless varietals of fruits and vegetables, decorative aquatic plants, ground cover, you name it.
Prices are not super cheap, but they're also not outrageous, and some stuff is rather competitive.
Don't forget to check out all the carnivorous plants!

Beautiful space with great selection, but sadly my new mint plant was infested with bugs. I should have examined it closer before purchasing.

Berkeley Hort is an expansive nursery filled with a large selection of trees, plants, herbs, seeds, soil, succulents, tools, and more. The inventory includes lots of native plants, with a greater emphasis on outdoor inventory. For such a large nursery, it is very well organized and the plants are well taken care of. The selection includes many plants that are rare in other nurseries. It's a bit on the expensive side.

Lovely selection of plants but very high prices. When searching for a ceramic pot there for the exquisite plant, was disappointed by the ceramic pot selection. Next time I'll go elsewhere.

My favorite everyday shop for buying plants. They have a wide selection and consistently healthy plants. I like how it's organized; I can find what I'm looking for without help. The only drawback is they often only have a few of each kind of plant when I need larger numbers (in which case need to order them).

What an amazing hidden gem at Berkeley!! ?✨?
I LOVE this gardening shop so much☺️
They have a lot of different types of plants, flowers, tools, merchandise, pots, hangers, soils, and some cute crafts (such as tote bags, hats, cards, etc.)
Their staff are also very nice and knowledgeable. It may take a while to get someone because they don’t have a lot of staff, but also they would spend time to answer your questions!
They have a restroom for customers to use, and it’s very clean! There’s also a cute fountain in the middle of the outdoor garden area. Moreover, there’s a chalkboard near the entrance showing their weekend special sales and discounts!
If you need anything for your garden, indoor planting, or just want to wander around and vining with plants, this is definitely a great place for you to visit!?

It is a large nursery compared to nearby ones. But that’s it.
Staffs (at lease a couple) are not kind. They don’t care about customers at all. One staff (old lady) said YOU NEED TO LEAVE aggressively and it was still 10 minutes before the closing time.
The plants are way more expensive than the nearby ones (herbs and edible ones especially). Would rather go to westbrae or flowerland or the one on the 4th.

Love this nursery and come here often for our garden needs, but out of our last 4 visits we've been overcharged 3 times! Make sure you're receiving the size of soil you were rung up for and that sales discounts are actually applied at the register, and check your receipt before you leave. Otherwise, a wonderful space and a wonderful nursery. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable, prices are reasonable, and it's always fun to browse the new arrivals.

Very knowledgeable and experienced staff. Friendly customer service. Large selection of plants: trees, fruit trees, veggie starters, seeds, vines, house and succulents.

I grew up visiting Berkeley Hort and have always enjoyed leisurely walking around through the different outdoor sections (e.g. fruits, vegetables, full sun, conifers, ground cover, bog/aquatic, succulents, shade, etc) as well as exploring their greenhouse ft. tropical foliage plants.Today, I had multiple questions answered by several friendly staff members (all of whom politely approached and asked me first if I had any questions they could help answer--EXCELLENT customer service IMO) with my favorite being Miguel who enthusiastically shared his personal experience growing his pink lemonade blueberries and using them for his spritzers :) I loved how excited he was to show us the other growing blueberry bushes to give us a sense of growth pattern and speed. We happily decided on 3 plants including my own pink lemonade blueberry starter, thank you Miguel + BHN team :) will be back soon!
