Been to this shop before and everything was normal. Today however, I was trying to buy a few patches, but an old man in a beard and hat refused my money. I could tell he got upset over where I found the patches but instead of talking like an adult he immediately refused to sell them to me and would only say "ok, bye" as I asked to buy them. The only interaction I had was telling him what the price sign read and where the patches were. He obviously didn't like that one of the patches was moved (and not by me, I'll honestly say). It's upsetting that this couldn't be handled maturely because I understand that merchandise can be moved, but to immediately be accused of lying and refused a purchase felt so off-putting that it left me speechless.I'm never coming here again and will definitely let others know what I experienced.

When you come across this store you are greeted outside with bins of old postcards, vintage jewelry, sunglasses, surprise items that tickle your curiosity to step in to check it out. A great place to see doll house furniture, novelty rings, pins, necklaces, pictures and candies plus more. Step in and relive old memories and discover many interesting things.

This is my favorite spot In Berkeley, well, excepting the University of California @ Berkeley. The Campus is beautiful but the Curiosity Shop has 10,000 things I didn’t know I needed, but now, cannot live without.Remember the 1943 steel Penny? I keep looking for the rare copper type. Worth some real $$$$$$$$$$ folks! The US government stopped production of the copper penny that year for the war effort. Needed the copper for production of ships to take war materials to England.A few slid through the pipeline, and are still out there… keep your eyes open!Best little shop ever…? ????????

This was a fun, unique find in the heart of Berkeley. Everything was reasonably priced, especially for the area! We loved the selection and the variety.Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Only downside is the small space does not allow for a lot of accessibility. Otherwise, I would have rsted 5 stars. ?

I only gave 4 out of 5 because the music inside of deafening and the whole atmosphere is rather overwhelming. You could be inside for hours.

the store is more appealing and inviting on the outside. spent most of my time looking at stickers before going inside. the inside was really compact and hard to move around. as of july 2023 i can attest the music is still loud despite all of the reviews - kind of rubs me the wrong way this hasn't been taken into consideration. everything felt dusty and dirty. some guy was also walking around with no socks or shoes on which i don't want to judge but...it was just a lot. left without buying anything.

[PROS] Lots of cute jewelry at a reasonable and affordable price. I got several beautiful silver gems to make jewelry pieces with! I would also go w gloves as some of the stuff is dusty! No biggie really but just a heads up.[CONS] Music was absolutely way too loud and not sensory friendly. I’m talking like concert level, you should probably wear earplugs to protect your eardrums, loud. I am autistic and had too leave earlier than I would have liked and had to stand outside and wait for my sister.

So many things to see! Mostly antiques but I love it. The music was loud but it was pretty cool, (they have pretty good music taste). It was a unique experience & I bought a cute star necklace & an amethyst! The cashier was sweet & friendly. definitely coming back when I'm feeling curious to look at things!

Asked very kindly to turn down the music, and coworker simply stated, "They weren't allowed to." I have autism so it was quite a terrible experience lol, dont recommend it if you are autistic or have any sort of sound sensitivity. Stuff was cool inside, but I could not focus due to sound. Probably won't return here.
