The Lawrence Discovery Store is a fun and educational place that focuses on science and hands-on activities for children. It is a great place for kids to explore and learn through various interactive exhibits and activities. Visitors can enjoy making and launching paper airplanes and rockets, as well as engaging in activities designed for small children, especially those aged 1 to 5. There are also exhibits related to physics, gears, sound, and mechanical toys that capture the curiosity of both kids and adults alike. Many visitors find the museum exciting and mesmerizing, with a variety of experiments and displays that appeal to different ages. The Hall features outside exhibits like a fountain, whale, and double helix, offering great views of the Bay Area. Inside, there are demos on paper airplanes, sound, and simple machines, along with a museum shop that sells snacks, toys, and STEM activities. However, the onsite cafe has been closed, and the snack options in the gift shop are limited, mostly chips, candy, and cookies, so visitors are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Parking is available in paid lots, with old machines accepting cash or quarters. Guests note that during less crowded times, staff may be less attentive, and some exhibits, like the animal experiences, are more visual than tactile. Overall, the venue is appreciated for fostering creativity and curiosity, making it a great spot for children to have fun while learning about science concepts. It is especially suited for children in elementary and middle school, though younger kids can enjoy many activities as well.
Fun and educational. My kids loved it. So much to do and see. Go during the week to avoid crowds.

This place is good for being creative and making things on your own. The kids liked making paper airplanes and paper rockets then launching them.
