This feedback is specifically about the Keratin treatments, as I’ve had great experiences with Keter’s other services. Unfortunately, the salon does not have adequate ventilation in place for Keratin treatments, which raises some real safety concerns.
During my first session, my eyes were burning and tearing up the entire time due to the fumes. I flagged the issue before my second appointment, and while I was kindly provided a mask and small fan, the discomfort continued — my eyes were still burning throughout.
Other salons often have more effective ventilation setups, including movable overhead vents that help minimize exposure for both clients and staff. I really hope Keter considers investing in better airflow for these treatments. The team is great, and the space has so much potential. This adjustment would make a big difference.

I’ve been a loyal client at Keter Salon for nearly a decade, and I can confidently say it’s one of Berkeley’s true treasures. From day one, the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. I come in every six weeks for color and a cut, and every visit feels like both a transformation and a treat.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Kiki, Roxy, and Diana—and each of them brings something truly special. They are not only incredibly skilled stylists, but also amazing listeners. They’ve helped me evolve my hairstyle over time to suit my changing face, lifestyle, and mood. I always leave feeling more like me, just better.
The salon itself is warm, modern, and refreshingly inclusive. It’s a space where everyone feels welcome, and that kind of atmosphere doesn’t happen by accident—it’s cultivated with intention. I’ve recommended Keter to friends with all kinds of hair textures and styles, and every single one has walked away thrilled.

Jo-Anna is a hair ANGEL! Third time I get a balayage in 10 years in the Bay Area and first time I absolutely love the results. She matched the inspiration pics to perfection (unheard of!!). I appreciated her asking thorough questions and getting to understand my goals for my hair. Giselle (assistant) was also fab and so sweet!
I drove from SF after finding them on Yelp. 10/10! The salon is incredibly welcoming, first time I’ve felt this ever. Grateful to have found this gem ❤️

Very pleased with my recent hair cut and will be back! . This review is a special about shout out to Jo-Anna's care for my daughter hair!
My daughter has different hair then I do and we had been stuck for months maybe years on how to properly care for it to avoid big tangles and mats. It was at the point of refusal to try to brush it or care for it at all and impacting how she felt about herself.
Jo-Ann was so kind to see Brianna, give her super attentive service, information, attention and a fantastic do! She recommended layers to better manage her thick hair, options I have brought up at our previous typical kids salon which were not supporting or implemented.
She even recommended a new hair brush and improved way to brush her hair, also empowering my eight year old to do this on her own
So glad we took Brianna to stylists with years of experience and expertise on hair and hair care! Happy to pay a premium price.
Thank you for truly making a difference for my daughter and her confidence!

Nick I believe it is, the one that is 💅, killed my hair. Luckily I only received an under color, natural on top, bleached and colored underneath…. My hair has never been so dry and brittle and always getting tangled as much as it is now after him bleaching my hair.
I asked him “how long have you been doing hair” and I think I remember him saying at least over 10 years, so I thought yk, I could trust him with the provided knowledge.
I was foolish to trust him.
I am sad to say that it has gotten SO BAD that i just want to cut it and start over.
DO NOT TRUST NICK with bleach, idk about anything else, but please tell that individual to either stay away from the bleach, or learn more about it before you tempt to do it to someone’s hair. never coming back as well as not recommending to any of my peers.

Hands down- the best haircuts I’ve ever received. I discovered the salon while I lived in the area- I eventually moved to different states- Las Vegas Nevada and then to Boston Ma, I continued to come back to this salon just for my haircut and color. It may sound extreme but it is a testament to the quality of the cuts and color. My appearance was essential to my brand and directly correlated to the services I received at Keter. My initial cut was going from 28 inches to a masterful bob undercut - perfection! From dark brown hair to various shades of blonde, artistically melted in while maintaining health and luster of my hair. It was a husband and wife team- he cut- she was a color wizard. I also saw a few others when necessary and scheduling required w/ satisfactory consistency. Not exactly the best customer service but the quality of the actual work superseded this. I have yet to find an artist that matches the cuts I received at Keter.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE – 5 stars just don't do it justice! Let me tell you the tale behind this: After my hairstylist of 15 years relocated, finding a new one and rebuilding trust was a challenge. Change isn't easy for me, but Sara made all the difference. She revitalized me, boosted my confidence, and now I feel like myself again. I wish I had discovered Sara earlier instead of sticking with my previous stylist to be honest. Embracing this change has been incredible, and it's only been 5 hours, LOL. The ambiance is also superb! Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Andrea. Her positive vibes and energy truly enhanced the experience. THANK YOU SARA AND ANDREA. Exceptional service and attention. Looking forward to my next visit!

This was my second cut with Gabby today and I really love my cut. I'm trying to grow my hair out and she made sure to cut the length we discussed and then considering any modifications thereafter. Very professional and easy going.

I had a lovely haircut by Nick at Keter salon a few months back. He went above and beyond in one aspect that will impact my life forever - he spotted a strange mole on the back of my ear and let me know I should have it checked out. I’m only 29 but it turns out the mole was invasive melanoma. A couple operations, and a slightly smaller ear later (they had to remove some cartilage to reconstruct after removing tissue around the melanoma) and I am good to go!! If this wasn’t found until it was over 1 mm thick I might’ve lost my ear. If it wasn’t found for even longer, I’d be battling a very aggressive/sometimes deadly form cancer. Thanks to Nick, I’ll be back to my active lifestyle in a matter of days! So thank you!
