so discriminatory, every time I go in there there is always an issue. Because of my trans identity I’m constantly subjected to rude treatment. I’m just trying to get my money like everyone else. I hate this bank

I like this branch. My only issue is that they have to call and get approval for so many different types of transactions from I think Fremont Bank who owns Mechanics Bank. Other than that service is great and employees are reeally nice! For those who say the employees are rude, everyone should know that 'something' was going on for each of those customers before they ever walked in the door of the bank so they were already mad when they got to the bank so keep that in mind when reading the reviews of how terrible the service was!

5 STARS for Roberto Corona. If you must use this bank, I highly recommend using him. He is kind, responsible, will follow up until the job is done. You just don't see that anymore, so want to give him a shout. Thanks Roberto!

Horrible company, they STOLE my Nissan Rogue Sport 2020 that bought with my cash money at WA State Public Auction. I paid $25,000 for the car, I have WA state title in hand with my legal owner name. I have the keys and the title but no car. Mechanics bank don't care, they don't pick up my calls, and they are hiding my car. They didn't report the car as repossessed as they should have done by the law. So when I filed the report of stolen vehicle, police could not find the car. When I told to the police that the bank stole it, the Mechanics bank lied to the police and send them old not valid title to take down the report of stolen vehicle. I went to the bank office to resolve and they just attacked me verbally and accused me of having fake WA title and stated that Washington state is doing criminal title washing stuff. Then they humiliated me and kicked me out of their property. As of now I lost $25,000 and they won't give my car back.

I have been banking with "Robobank" for 22 yrs which is now known as "Mechanics Bank." Since Mechanics Bank took over I have had nothing but major problems! Example: I reordered checks and the checks had the wrong phone number and that number was updated 10 yrs. ago. I reordered after calling and clarifying phone number and the new checks came in AGAIN with the same wrong phone number! Recently, I post dated a check and Mechanics Bank put it through 3 wks EARLY. When I called and asked why they said it was due to "system failure" and the representative laughed. I will now be switching over to Tri Counties Bank because "Mechanics Bank" cannot get their *hit together!

This branch ATM doesn’t always take cash deposits. Having to drive to another location to deposit cash into my own account (outside of bank hours) is ridiculous

As the years went on their personnel services has gone down, some staff have quite the attitude and fees gone up not providing extra services or up to dates user friendly tech I've since moved banks. DisappointedStarted with them from day one, building my credit, they take care of your needs as long as you contact them, only negative is they far and fee locations, and close early, I no longer live in Berkeley, so the only places I can reach them is far out of reach, I would highly recommend opening few more branches more south of Oakland. This way people can still get your services.

This is about Mechanics' on-site currency exchange. Warning - call ahead, they're not prepared. I came here on a Wednesday morning about an hour after opening, looking to exchange $400US for Euros. After 15 minutes of looking around, talking to herself, and *just* opening and counting her bank, the teller told me they only had $25 Euros on hand. The only currency exchange in Berkeley had $25 Euros on hand. And I had to wait and watch for 15 minutes for her to make that determination. (I was the only customer.) Sad.

Customer service rep was incredibly rude, she should have a position that does not require customer contact. Just switched to USAA. I will not be treated like because she's having a bad day.

Raquel (manager) @ Fresno branch location is unprofessional and always so rude to us especially to a senior elder. I really hope Mechanics Bank hires a professional manager with high quality customer service standards very soon in Fresno Ca!
