For book lovers, this is one of the most amazing places you could visit in the Bay Area!
Four whole floors dedicated to books of the most varied kind, from European and Latin American history to fiction and rare books 😻
A huge amount of well-kept used books, those that you feel the story just by their art and appearance

Great children’s books selection. We were able to snag 3 children’s books to add to our baby’s library. Our adult kids found some great books as well. 4 stories of BOOKS 📚

I have been going to Moe's bookstore ever since I was around 10 or 11 so that would be about 60 years ago. Incredible bookstore full of used treasures and new books. They will buy books but they've become a lot more selective than they were even a couple of years ago. They need to be in very good condition, they need to be the type of books that they can easily sell. Since it is Berkeley and since 75% of the inhabitants of Berkeley have at least a bachelor's degree, they do like more intellectual books. Commentaries, anthologies, intellectual merit, Etc are probably welcome. Some science fiction and other fiction but those books need to be in really good condition. I had a bunch of American Indian books and none were taken. So give them a call, see what they're looking for and my recommendation is just get the Moe Bucks and then use some purchase gifts or for yourself later on.

This is my favorite book store in America. It is a very beautiful place and I love being here when I have a chance. It has so much good books and is like 5 floors of literary excellence. This is the creme de La creme of the Bay Area and it's book store's. This is a rare find and a nice honest place. I was going to head out to go to Moe's books one time during a social unrest and called because there was protests. I asked the worker if it was safe to come down. He told me don't do it, come next week will still be here. I thanks him and saved myself being arrested or harassed. Thanks

Not a place to sell quality hardbacks from a bibliophile’s library.
They seem to be looking only for very recent bestseller titles. Brought in part of an estate, a lifelong library with many hard-to-find, older, collectible hardbacks on the arts, literature, biographies etc. that sell for above average prices from online second-hand dealers. All interesting books, no junk, all had been set aside specifically to bring to Moe‘s after purging the three-generation library.
They took nothing and their attitude was less than expected given the way the community feels about them.
Used to admire this store but this response seemed uninformed and— forgive the pun— entitled.
Don’t bother selling here.
