The store is a fun bookstore to browse with lots of great finds, both new and old, nostalgic and local books/authors. The layout can be confusing at first, not in alphabetical order, so searching for a specific book or author may take time. Visitors love to browse around for next-reads and gift ideas and can enjoy a section for local books/authors. The large blue building on Shattuck is hard to miss, and inside there is a cute kids' section, a coloring book/drawing section, and many fiction options. Author talks with wine and glass allow you to hear talks. Employees give superb service; one employee yelled after me, found a specific book in a different section, and sent a book to a prison inmate through the prison project.
We are big fans of Pegasus Book stores. We have often shopped at their smaller store on College Avenue but today we had the opportunity to explore their much larger store on Shattuck in Berkeley. We loved their huge selection of children’s books as well as all their other sections!
