There’s no shade outside the Gilman Berkeley location. The only table umbrella there was broken. Every table was taken inside. The only choice was to bake in direct sunlight. The same issue exists in the Castro, SF and Fremont locations: no shaded seating outside.

I drank ecstatic coffee, and it was slightly sweet, soft, and delicious. It doesn't feel sweet as soon as it touches your tongue, but I highly recommend it if you like subtle sweetness and a soft latte taste☺️Parking: There is a parking space right next to the cafe.

I suggest you mobile at this location because ordering at counter takes long. I waited over 10min for coffee which in my opinion was over- priced. But I guess that's what you pay for hand made coffee. Idk. To each there own. Try it u might like it. As for me I'll stick to my usuals. Prolly won't be going there again.

Serious coffee drinkers listen up Phillz is the Best cup of Java I've experienced in some time. Move over Pete's. I loved this coffee. The atmosphere is inviting and laid back. I could get comfortable here with lots of tables outside. This spot could be addictive... You've been warned.

Try the ice mint mojito and it is also delicious hot!!!Sometimes music is a little loud. Wait time , let's just say worth the wait. I prefer a shorter wait time. But mm, mmm, good!!

This Philz is always on point (I prefer this location over College Ave)Drink - 5/5- Iced Honey Haze (my favorite)Vibe - 4/5- Pro: Very vibrant atmosphere - busy at 11:30 am on a Friday- Con: It is small and has limited tables- They do have tables outside (if you're lucky, you'll sit by all the puppies visiting!)Customer Service - 4/5- Grateful to the barista who asked me to try my drink first and offered to fix anything- She made it 100% good - thank you!!

I love mornings! ☀️It’s a good Monday to be grateful for life, peace and good coffee.Philz coffee is a longtime Bay Area favorite so I’m happy to be sitting here enjoying a hot cup of Tesoro which is a beautiful blend of caramel and citrus. I loved going to the one at the Marina when we lived in the city.I like that they’ve upped their coffee game. It’s more sophisticated with all types of pour overs hot and cold. This location has a nice vibe as well. I really liked my barista, too. Nice people at the register as well.All you coffee places, listen up: How you treat customers matters. ?Parking: Street parking is this area’s drama regardless of where you go. It’s California! ?

Usually the coffee is pretty good, I thought it was reliable, until it wasn't... Got a cup of light roast, nothing added, and it was honestly some of the worst coffee I've had. Bitterness, with notes of ground up railroad ties, finishing with strong overtones of stale cigarettes and regret. Not worth it.

I feel like I give a lot of 5 star reviews but I think Yelp steers me to the best places and so it snow piles. I still wish Yelp allowed for half rating increments - are you guys listening? Philz is as good as it gets for drip, gravity brewed coffee. Yes, it does require a bit of a wait, so don't be in a rush to get in and out. They have a menu of different brews at different strengths. I order a dark roast, which was fresh, smooth, balanced, rich, everything good!

Only for fans of flavored coffeeI guess they do well what they do but don't go here for a regular cup of coffee. "We don't make expressso drinks." The first thing the counter attendant tells me. So it's a different drink. Everything else was pretty great. A lot of typical coffeeshop pastries, somewhat loud music to cover the din, great internet. It's not to my liking but there are a LOT of people in here as I type this and they must like the stuff. I came for a latte and had to choose from a list including "Dark and Bold" and "Light and Bright" and it's flavored coffee. You will end up with flavored coffee. It's not for everyone.

Philz coffee with an emphasis on brewed coffee and not espresso is what sets this Bay Area legend apart from other coffee shops. Along with phenomenal Customer service philz is a great option for that morning coffee run. This location in specific is my favorite, all of the baristas are energetic and know how to make a tasty cup of coffee.
