Purchases and their receipt stolen with luggage at Oakland airport. Called 3 times asking for copies of receipts. Was told I needed to call back as they were doing inventory. 2nd call took my contact info and was told they’d call back. Didn’t happen. Called a 3rd time. They took my info but never sent receipts. Buyer beware. Their post sale service stinks!!!

My wife and I have been coming by since the '80s. We never lived locally, but between the Gardener and Ocean View Dinner many of our let's get away days were made, Heck our kids grew up coming here and still do. We miss the spot that used to be out in the country dearly.

Worth the drive to Berkeley. Beautifully curated shop. Unique, thoughtfully stocked with original items you won't find everywhere. A gem. Bought this gorgeous original artwork for a punch of color in my modern, monochromatic kitchen.

Despite its name, the store sells very little having anything to do with gardening. There's one small corner of the store that has a few gardening items, plus a few plants; but if you want a much better selection of either, go to a real nursery (like Cactus Jungle just up 4th or Berkeley Horticultural). The rest of the store is an eclectic mix of items: books, salad bowls, linens, art, bath soap, jewelry, furniture, and more. Similarly to going to a real nursery if you want a better selection of gardening items, you probably ought to go to a store specializing in whatever it is you're looking for (e.g., if you're shopping for furniture, go to a real furniture store). I guess this is the kind of store you might go to if you want to get a gift, but have no idea what to get. While it's all seemingly quality merchandise, it's way overpriced. Oh, and there are no refunds! Only store credit. I guess if there's one eclectic item you've just got to have no matter the cost (and could never dream of ever returning it), then shop here.

This is quite a unique store, it is an experience. That's for sure. The way I feel when I enter the store is almost difficult to describe. I just feel at peace. The items are carefully selected, each piece thoughtfully designed by the artists. Though a bit on the pricier side, I find that I have not regretted a single item I've purchased from here. Every year, I save up to get a nice (fancy) one of a kind item from the gardener, other times throughout the year, I come in to get soaps and lotions or stay for the good vibes. Its peaceful.I just love love love that this place exists and I get to go!

Here's how they get you. Nice things, helpful sales people, who don't tell you all the facts. A small sign posted at the counter, but no disclosure by sales staff who keep you talking, and you find out after your $1000 purchase that there's no refund on any purchase. SLIMY.I'm stuck with a Fermob bench that doesn't suit me, because I foolishly thought that my purchase wouldn't be irreversibly permanent the moment I walked out the door.Never, ever, ever again. Anywhere else would treat you better. I wish them best in this economy.

If you need a special gift or are furnishing your glamor pad, this spot has what you need.For many years they have curated a beautiful and high quality selection of house-wears, jewelry and gardening items. I love to stop by and window show and seek some inspiration.Sell some stock before you visit, the prices are in-line with the high quality! Half joking, they actually have a wide range of price points so you can likely find something whatever your budget.4th Street shopping district in Berkeley is a great spot to visit, plan a longer visit and have a bite too. It makes the moderately challenging parking situation feel worth it.

I have shopped here a few times. No one ever greeted or offered help, which was never an issue. Today when I actually did need assistance, the person behind the counter was rude and dismissive. No thank you!
