This place is amazing! Like other reviews mention, you exchange cash for different colored tokens and then use those tokens to purchase delicious, homemade tasting Thai dishes. Be prepared to wait in long lines but it's all very worth it. Highly recommend the Pumpkin Basil, Chicken Panang Curry, Eggplant Basil... you really can't go wrong. Be patient, be kind to workers and you'll be rewarded with some of the best Thai food you'll ever have.

I was so so excited to finally try brunch at the Thai temple and loved all the home cooked food and atmosphere! It is definitely worth a visit and all the food (especially the beef noodle soup) was AMAZING!! It reminded me of my mom's cooking. There are meat and veggie lines for combo plates with various items and beef noodle soup. There are also desserts and ready to made fried chicken. I wish I brought enough cash for dessert. Here are my tips for next time that I also will follow: - trading in tokens is a 1-1 exchange. You can trade in however much you want and you can trade back in what you don't use for the full value - bring enough cash!! Entrees were around $11-14 and desserts were around $8-11. There are also drinks for $2-4 - use the spice rack. it is sooo flavorful but beware of the spiciness - explore the temple areas respectfully! - the hours are 10-1! A bit early but worth the waking up!

A friend told me about this place so we decided to try on a Sunday morning. It starts at 10am, but there is a line already at 9:50, so go early! There are combination and late both meat and vegetarian, beef noodle soup with variety of noodles, fried chicken, salad, and desserts, and various drinks. The money goes to a good cause and for the area, this is a great price. If you want to share, I would recommend bring a bowl or plate. I saw plenty people bring containers for to-gos. Some of the mild dishes still had slight kick to it, so watch out! All the seating are outdoor with partial shades. The parkings are all on street unless you go early enough to snag one in the lot.

A Buddhist temple that sells the best Beef Noodle Soup in The Bay? Count me in! 1. Get in line and purchase tokens. Not sure how many you need? You can trade them back in for money, donate them, save it for the next Sunday Funday. 2. Take your pick of delicious dishes- including vegetarian options... it's the beef noodle soup for me! 3. Find a spot, it's communal seating and a UC Berkeley student favorite so be ready for some interesting ear hustling. Prices have gone up $1 since my last visit. But honestly I don't mind supporting a great cause. If you go with the family be sure to check out the impressive koi fish tank in the front.

This is a fun experience - behind the Buddhist Temple, there is a market with soups, curries, etc., for brunch with cafeteria style seating. I got the beef noodle soup with flat noodles and shared an order of mango sticky rice and a thai iced tea. Everything was delicious! We got there on the earlier side on a Sunday (11ish?) and there were no lines.

I've loved this place for almost ten years but lately I've been seeing prices pushed up aggressively, I think the 3rd $1 per item increase in 2 years. This feels like a profit drive and increases that dramtically exceed inflation.

What a fun Sunday brunch experience! Went here on a nice Sunday (they’re open 10am-1pm) around 11:30am and it was absolutely packed! I recommend going early like 10am or post 12pm. The line for the beef noodle soup was down the street(probably 45 minutes). The food was excellent for a solid price. Loved supporting a local temple while enjoying some delightful Thai food! Ps - their mango sticky rice was YUM.

A Sunday brunch classic, unchanged over the years. It's a simple system: exchange cash for tokens and use the tokens to purchase generous portions of delicious Thai food and support the temple. The food is dished out cafeteria-style and it can get very busy, so it's important to come early to secure a seat, snag a place in line, and order the items you're craving before they run out for the day. I usually get a two item veggie combo plate (the vegetarian line is always shorter than the meat line!) and my favorites are the yellow curry tofu and kabocha curry. The best nearby parking is in a quiet residential area, so definitely be respectful of the temple's neighbors when coming and going!

This is such a unique experience and the food is delicious as well. Everyone is so friendly, and I'm not only referring to the people that are serving the food.

It's a fun experience to eat here on the Sundays for the food market! It's very unique and have never seen a temple serve food to the public like this, so I'm glad I tried it. This place takes tokens only, which can be purchased with cash only, and the parking can get challenging here. However, I did not feel that I needed to wait too long during lunch time here when I went.
