I want to first start with the good things: I worked with Suren as my tax preparer, and Suren was absolutely *incredible* from start to finish. I uploaded my materials, and Suren had everything finished up within less than 24hrs. Excellent service, and the price absolutely seemed fair given the complexity of my materials as a professional musician with numerous 1099s, graduate student, TA, and person with student loan interest to report. Kudos to Suren -- thanks a million for your help! Okay, now to speak to this location as a whole: I had an appointment booked with a different preparer, and I never received a link to my video appointment. I called up Block Advisors to ask how to access my appointment, and I was told I'd receive a phone call. Instead of a call, I received an email 40min after the appointment start time that said that I missed my appointment. I called the office and was connected to customer service, then set up a new appointment for two days later (Sunday). I received a call telling me that the office I had originally contacted wasn't even open on that day. The person I spoke with kept referring to me as "she" when discussing hypotheticals, which is fine (I totally get it; my voice sits within a low "feminine" register, so I expect to be misgendered from time to time). I asked this person to put in their notes for this new preparer that I am non-binary and use they/them pronouns. The person responded by saying that this wouldn't be an issue, then checked the verbiage of their notes to change all uses of "she" pronouns to "client." Didn't appreciate this or the very long, arduous process of obtaining an actual appointment. That said, I do want to say that working with Suren was great, and I do recommend Suren for your tax needs!

Assunta is a bright and lovely tax specialist who helped file my tax. It is refreshing to work with enthusiastic, and professional people and know your taxes are correctly filed. Despite computer hiccups, she managed to get me out the door in a Beverley Hills minute ( well that's longer than a minute, of course).

I've been coming to a different location at HR block for the last 3 years and had a wonderful experience with another accountant. Unfortunately I took my chance and had my tax filing with Emily from this location. This led my tax return delay for 4 months and I just found out that my taxes were filed wrong, I got a letter from IRS. I reached out to Emily a few times and she just ignored me. I also reached out to HR block and asked them to have a phone call appointment with a different accountant. 3 times when I scheduled, no one called me on an assigned time. And yes, by the way, I paid extra for their Guarantee, which means If I have a problem with this tax return, they will solve it. HR Block, never again!
