****UPDATE**** I got in touch with the Yelp account manager so that they could try and resolve this situation by telling me a supervisor will reach me via email and to provide my email address, which I did. I found the email I was waiting to receive on 4/18 telling me to provide my contact information, so I did. Only for the supervisor to reply back to me on the day Snow Summit closes for the season telling pretty much "we are now closed for the season". I felt that that how management handled the situation was definitely a tactic to try to "help" me but didn't care enough to truly access the situation and to truly put in the effort to actually help me and resolve this issue, no matter the time frame. Very disappointing. There are definitely other ski resorts that genuinely care about customer experience but unfortunately based on mine and many others' experiences, that wasn't the case here in Snow Summit.

Review Edited after good Customer Service communication and response to resolve my issue After Attempting to renew passes this year(spring of 24 for 24/25) for my family and not having clear understanding of the pass renewal deadlines, I had some relatively quick back and forth with customer service who ultimately ended up resolving the issue. For the final resolution I have changed my review and appreciate the customer service making things right. For the customer service taking time to contact me and resolve the issue I think that shows the company cares about its service and customers. For people interested in season passes I think between Ikon's website with differing dates to Bear Mountain's /Snow Summit's website, the lack of a simple renewal mailer and static renewal dates(ex: always March 1st to April 1st, etc) it is more confusing to renew that it needs to be. For reference to anyone looking to book season passes the most simplistic way to renew passes (but no renewal discount for BBMR, while there is for Ikon) is to know that sometime in early March/before April of the previous season you must renew to receive the best price. For ski conditions the 23/24 season would get fairly busy on weekends making skiing past 2pm-3 hard. Early morning would be much less busy, but on weekends to save time I'd recommend just paying for the parking pass with little kids. If you don't have kids, there's enough shuttle parking that you could avoid the paid parking. Customer Service within the park is friendly and they make attempts to help families with kids and keep it enjoyable.

On March 21st. we made a reservation to take our eight year old daughter snow tubing. We were excited because it was going to be the first time we can take our daughter out to experience a day in the snow. The very next day, my daughter approached me, and said that she wasn't feeling well. We checked her temperature, only to find that she was running a fever. At 4:07pm we called to try to cancel our reservations, but the office had just closed at 4pm. Overnight my daughter's condition got worse, so I tried calling again, this time I was able to speak to a customer service person. I explained the scenario, and I felt as if the representative had absolutely no empathy... I was basically told I'm out of luck, I wouldn't be allowed to get a refund. The representative told me that if I wanted to get a refund, I would've had to cancel the reservations on the 19th. How would we cancel our reservation on the 19th, if the reservation wasn't not made until the 21st? I have no idea how that could've been possible, but they didn't care, as far as they're concerned it's too late, and there is absolutely no way we would get a refund. They also said they found a record of us calling on the 30th and that didn't seem to make a difference to them. I asked to speak to the manager, and when the manager took my call, they immediately became combative, and made it clear that they're not going to help us.The reservations were made on March 21st, we tried to cancel the very next day. The reservation we made was for snow tubing, and I can't imagine how that could've caused any loss to Snow Summit. I was finally able to cancel the reservation, but they told me they will not give me a confirmation unless I agree to take a credit or forfeit the money I paid. After my experience, I just couldn't see ourselves trying to visit Snow Summit at all. Ultimately we lost our money, and the opportunity to make it a good experience for our family. I didn't want to write this review but I exhausted all my options, and hoping that my bad experience doesn't go unnoticed.

Parking is really bad. The workers are incredibly rude. we delt with a man named Dwayne who treated everyone in the vehicle poorly including my elderly father who needed to be close to the car in the event of emergency. The runs themselves are ok with many areas to choose from but again, the staff are not accommodatin.

I can usually put snow summit at around 3.5 stars. On weekdays and days where there's not a lot of people, summit is definitely a 4 star resort. But when it's peak season/weekends, the mountain easily gets super duper packed. Most the riders that come here are beginners level, so the mountain can be scattered with a lot of traffic. Lines can get up to 20-30 min for a lift when it's at its busiest, just something to keep in mind. A big perk is that the terrain is very beginner and intermediate friendly. If you are looking for a chill place to ride and not be too challenged, this resort is great. Overall, the resort is fine for being a local one, but this resort definitely attracts the most crowds vs big bear and snow valley.

This is probably the best place to ski/snowboard in SoCal. But it's not without its issues. First the good. I feel like this has the best slopes compared to other ski resorts I've been to. The last time I went, the powder was pretty good! Many of lifts are open (especially on the right and left sides of the resort). Unfortunately the main ones near base camp are super crowded during peak times. All in all, a very fun resort that boasts difficulties ranging from beginning bunny hills to extreme double diamonds. Although this may not be the best resort in the world, it's very serviceable and my favorite for SoCal!

Came here for my first couple of times snowboarding and the slopes the had were beginner-friendly. Once I felt I was doing good on the bunny slopes I headed to the longer green slope and it is still a challenge for me. Prob my fave summit in BBM

Ski instructor Cody West ruined our trip yesterday. Maybe Cody needs to be reminded that this is a family resort like you guys claim. I can guarantee that guy doesn't have kids. I won't be bringing my ,not even two year old, daughter back here to learn how to ski because of him. All of the other instuctors and employees were great though. Even Cody's coworkers were talking smack on him after I told a few other employees what happened. A few said "he's always gotta be such a micro manager " or "he's the only one that is like that, so annoying" I was told by other employees I should go tell guest services what happened, but it was the end of the day and my toddler was getting fussy. Be a better person Cody... lighten up a little, and learn to have some compassion with people trying to teach their littles how to ski on the magic carpet run, it's not that serious. I hope you are treated with more compassion than you showed us, if you ever have kids of your own one day and teach them how to ski.

Read before going: I went to use the bathroom and my $1,000 + Setup was STOLEN from the racks where everyone leaves their stuff for a moment while they do what they have to do. I went and told the employees and they told me to scan a lost and found code. And said I need to keep an eye on my stuff........ Essentially meaning anyone can go up to the mountain, locate the most expensive boards and take them, without any care from the the staff.... Two hours after paying 190 for a lift ticket. Outrageous. In response to the response: I left a one star review because It is common practice for everyone on the mountain to do what I did while using a restroom. I do understand that you guys cannot assume responsibility but my point experience of your mountain was that I can't even go Pee without having to bring my board with me because of the risk of theft....... That's why I left the review. Yes your mountain is beautiful though

It's my favorite place to ski! Very close to LA, a wide variety of mountains of different difficulty levels; there are no queues on weekdays. and even in sunny weather the snow is very good. I advise you to arrive before the opening at 9:00, then the parking will be near the slope, you won't need to wait for the shuttle, and the snow will be neatly combed.

Allow me to add some perspective. My daughter and I rode up with a single skier. He was legitimately skiing alone so I take no issue with him. That being said, and this is no exaggeration, he told us he was on his 18th run of the day, we were on our 5th, skiing the exact same lifts. This was around 3:00pm. We started at 9:15am, took an hour for lunch.

Insanely busy. No management for safety whatsoever. 1) I watched a new snowboarder come off a beginner lift and fall. The lift operator was SO FAR cheering people on he could NOT hit the button to stop in time. The guy was 6'4" or so...he barely cleared the chair over his back. It literally scraped over him. He was startled and I never saw him again. 2) Summit Run: the "advanced" beginner run...you have boarders flying down on the heels of kids. I saw 3 people go out on stretchers, one with a bloodied face. For a busy Ski Week with fresh snow, they need someone out monitoring and revoking tickets for anyone out of control in a beginner area like they do in larger resorts. 3) Food lines: crazy. Waited 25-30 minutes to get lunch 4) Parking: sold out every day. Shuttle lines were very long. For tickets that are over $100/ day. In Bug Bear!

From the moment my family and I met Cody at Big Bear Snow Summit for our three-hour snowboarding lesson, we knew we were in for an exceptional experience. Cody's patience, kindness, and vast experience immediately stood out, making us feel comfortable and eager to learn. Having three daughters aged 13, 10, and 7, I was initially concerned about how they would adapt to snowboarding, but Cody's teaching methods were nothing short of miraculous. His approach was tailored to each of my daughters' learning styles and abilities, instilling in them a level of confidence I had not anticipated. It was inspiring to see them progress so rapidly under his guidance. Cody's expertise was evident in every aspect of the lesson. He was not just teaching; he was genuinely invested in ensuring each member of my family enjoyed the experience and improved their skills. His encouraging words and helpful tips helped my daughters transition from the instructional hill to confidently taking the chair lift to a bigger hill, a feat we hadn't imagined possible in such a short time frame. Moreover, Cody's passion for snowboarding and teaching shone through, making the learning process fun and engaging. He created a safe and supportive environment where my daughters were encouraged to push their limits, learn from their mistakes, and celebrate their achievements. I cannot recommend Cody enough for anyone looking to learn or improve their snowboarding skills at Big Bear Snow Summit. His professionalism, skill, and genuine care for his students set him apart. We are already planning to book another session with him on our next visit. Cody, thank you for such a memorable and enriching experience. You have not only taught my daughters how to snowboard but have also given them memories they will cherish forever.

Horrible experience. Do not waste your time. Overpriced and horrible customer service. Nothing has been remodeled as they try to tell people. We recently purchased tickets for our family including our 3 and 1 year old who were supposed to go for free. An emergency ended up happening where I lost the car key and we couldn't make it to enjoy the day. We were at least hoping to receive a voucher to come back another time but they refused and had no sympathy for what happened. I will never go back there again. Unfortunately it is just another greedy corporation now after they were bought out a few years ago.
