Came here for a quick little two-night vacation. We'll be checking out in the morning and we're already planning our next trip here. We stayed in The Tree House and it's amazing. We're gonna get The Castle next trip! #1 stand out is undoubtedly Sir Gawain. Absolute professional. 10/10 service.

This is the coolest most magical place! We stayed in the Enchanted Forest room and the tub was perfect and so beautiful! Didnt think this place could get any better until we were leaving and had a long cuddle with the resident cat outside :) love it - we will be back!

This place is so cute. The host was very nice, she showed us around the property and quickly got us some extra towels. The rooms are all themed, the pictures don’t do the place justice, the level of theming is incredible. The treehouse has a stunning view.

Stayed in the Castle Garden suite and it was fantastic! It really felt like we stayed in a medieval castle but with plumbing, haha. It was a comfy stay, they provide you with costumes to take photos in if you like and they offer firewood for sale should you wish to use it for the fireplace. Was a real romantic getaway and it clear that the owners really want you to experience another world at their cottage grounds. The service was great and the front desk staff, Maria, was super friendly and gave us clear instructions on how to use the hot tub, the internet, parking, etc so it made our stay easy. She also made sure to contact us ahead of time to ensure we were confirmed for our stay, which was helpful. We also thought the shop was super cute and helpful for making our weekend memorable. Overall, was a fair and justified price for our stay and we absolutely would recommend this place to other couples that want to stay in a fantasy world for a weekend getaway in Big Bear. Lovely establishment and we would love to try it in the winter!
Noteworthy details: Super near the downtown / center village area which makes trying out local restaurants and bars really easy. If it was like summer, the walkability would be absolutely worth the 12 min walk.

Had such an amazing weekend at the Haunted Manor. You can tell that so much love and dedication went into creating this theme. Maria was so cool and funny and gave us a full rundown of tips and rules to make sure we had a good stay. I appreciate her taking the time to fix the portrait ahead of time and set the tv to "haunted mansion" music to make sure the vibes were just right when we walked in.
My favorite part to look at had to be cemetery and tree, although it was a little freaky at night hahaha also the lady of the manor does like to keep you up ? The room came stocked with handy amenities (fridge, coffee maker, Britta water filter, tea, pods, dishware, microwave). Water pressure in the shower was great, jacuzzi was sooo relaxing and the fireplace and heater had us so cozy. 1000% recommend this place and I can't wait to come back and hopefully meet sir gawain!

A really unique and amazing place to experience Big Bear! These cottages are cozy, intricately detailed, and charming. The wood burning fireplaces add an amazing amount of atmosphere, and the in-suite Jacuzzi tubs keep you warm on the cold winter nights. Be sure to visit the incredible boutique on your first day so you can take full advantage of the many home-made bath products that perfectly compliment your chosen room.
I hope they put this boutique on Google maps in the future as it's own store, because it's full of some really incredible products! I think many people are passing it by on the street without fully realizing what's in there. They've got candles, smudge sticks, bubble baths - and even a dedicated section full of some insanely detailed, hand-made costumes to fit the themes of their cottages.
Rooms: The room we stayed in was the King Arthur. I believe it's the largest room at the lowest price point, but it's also just laid out in a wonderfully cozy arrangement. It snowed while we stayed, and in the morning the entire courtyard was a winter wonderland.
At night, they have these great little fairy lasers pointing into the trees that make the evening quite magical (I've seen these before at the San Diego Zoo, they are great!)
Nearby activities: The Village is a short, 2 minute drive from the cottages. There, you will find some of Big Bear's best restaurants and shops.
Noteworthy details: This is NOT a place to bring children or pets. The rooms are incredibly detailed - you can tell the amount of attention that was put into them is well beyond a commercial business. These are works of art, and they should not be exposed to forces that may damage them. They are an incredible treat for responsible adults that want to step into a fantasy, however.

This is NOT a 2 star hotel! But in fact, 5 stars across the board! The level of detail and character that has gone into each cabin is miraculous. We stayed in the Castle Gardens cabin and it was truly remarkable. From the floor to the ceiling, every inch of this cabin was true to form. You felt like you were literally sleeping in a medieval royal castle. From the goblets to the knight in shining armor to the cobblestone floor it was exquisite! There is a 2 person jacuzzi bathtub that in the most relaxing setting with willow trees with twinkling lights. I really cannot put into words how beautiful this cabin was. I HIGHLY recommend booking here, that have different themed cottages, all of which are like a fully immersive dive into another world. Who knew Big Bear had such a phenomenal hidden gem.

I loved staying here at the Castle Wood Cottages! I personally stayed at the Kind Arthur cabin and the theme was on point on the interior. Staff was very friendly and informative and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Recommend anyone looking for something different to check it out and just have fun with it!

The Anthony & Cleopatra room surpassed my expectations! The property is adorable, quiet, and rejuvenating!Very clean, robes, GIANT towels (perfect for this fluffy body lady), ice maker, coffee maker, bowls/ plates/ wine glasses, microwave, min fridge that fits 36 beers! & 3 large bottled waters, jacuzzi tub with working jets, the fluffiest bed and pillows that make you feel like your on a cloud!! & last, but for sure not least, SIR GWAIN!! I LOVE SIR GWAIN!! He made sure our room was safe, soaked up all the love and pets we could give, we even asked him to give us a tour and he proceeded to walk away and show us to his favorite watering hole!! See all my photos below for the adorable room & SIR GWAIN!!

We booked the Crystal Cave last minute the day before New Year’s Eve. It was difficult drive and we almost thought we wouldn’t make it in time to check in. However, Pam stayed open till we arrived! I was so incredibly grateful as it was about 1hr after the usual closing time. The cottage itself was so adorable and neat. You can really tell how much love the owners poured into the room. It was an amazing time. We used the jacuzzi the first night and the water came down the waterfall! The water did get cold pretty quickly, but it was winter so I can’t complain. It’s also incredibly close to the Village. We were able to walk over in ~10 mins to get dinner. There’s also a cat! His name is Sir Gawain and he visited us on our last day. He’s so cute and friendly. Absolutely a joy to visit and I will be visiting again when there’s more snow!

Waking up the property manager cat snuggling in bed with us in addition to the beautifully designed cottage with plenty of parking was everything we needed.
