I agree with all the posts recently. Great little motel.
Rooms: As said before the heater blower is a bit noisy but not real bad either.

We were driving from Tahoe to the Coachella Valley after skiing and Big Pine was halfway so we stayed at the Starlight Motel.
We were in the last room. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable and it was very affordable for an "I need to sleep before continuing my road trip" stay. There were plenty of towels and even soaps and shampoos.
I will make two observations. The heater works well, but not very efficiently. It is either on or off. And eventually, we went with off because the room was getting too hot and the blankets were more than enough to keep us warm.
There was also a low level noise, something cycling on and off intermittently the whole time. It didn't disrupt our sleep, but could be a nuisance to a light sleeper.

We staged out of Big Pine as we were planning on dirt bike riding in Saline Valley but got shut down due to wind. We rode along the east and up through Black Rock Canyon found some single track. We also rode Swanhee (sp?) to Cerro Gordo very fun. There is parking behind the hotel for one to two trucks with trailers with bikes. Rooms are clean and there is a little closet for riding gear, coolers, etc. They have a BBQ on the deck with utensils, rooms are CLEAN and the water is HOT HOT. Plenty of photos of the hotel, here are some activities we did.
Nearby activities: Death Valley, Bristole Cone Pine Forest, Cerro Gordo Mine, Dirt bike riding.

Amazing motel. Clean, quiet, charming. The owners are great too, very nice. They used to have an Indian Food Restaurant in Upland, CA (Ashirwad). I want to come back here when they start serving meals to guests!!

We had an exceptional stay! The owners went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their hospitality and kindness is unmatched. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We slept so well! It is an easy 60-75 minute drive to Mammoth and a great place to stay for that if you want to save money on lodging. We will certainly be back! Nearby there are a few eating options- highly recommend Brewed Awakening for your morning coffee.

We've stayed at the Starlight Motel twice, and we have plans to return. It is very clean, and the king beds are exceptionally comfortable. (Last time we were here, I overheard a guest apologizing to the owner for leaving so early in the morning. He said he'd been on the road for two weeks and had just had the best night of sleep on his trip; so, he was ready to go sooner than expected!) The motel is in a beautiful location, with the Sierra Nevada as the backdrop, and the grounds are peaceful. There is a lovely deck to sit on under the trees. I've spent time there writing in the early morning and looking at the stars through the canopy at night. There is also an outdoor fire pit guests can use. Each rom has an assigned parking spot, so you always get a spot near your door. We stayed with our small dog both times. The owners are some of the kindest and most thoughtful people you will ever meet.

First of all, I'd like to start by praising the motel managers, who are wonderful people. They are incredibly kind. And they were there when we locked our Tesla with the keys inside.
Otherwise, the motel is cute and has authentic charm. The common areas are clean, as are the rooms. Little touches are offered upon arrival, making you feel welcomed like a friend. The comfort is present, and the bedding is perfect.
I can only recommend this establishment with its authentic charm.
Rooms: The rooms have the charm of yesteryear. They are clean, comfortable and spacious.
Nearby activities: There are many hikes to do in the region and Yosemite is very close.
Safety: The motel is safe, you feel safe there.
Noteworthy details: Terraces and barbecues are available at the motel.

The owners are absolutely lovely humans. I can't say enough about how welcoming and thoughtful they are.
Safety: It's across the street from a public school, it's probably the safest area in an already safe town.

Clean, quiet no frills lodging for your Eastern Sierra adventures. Manager was friendly and even offered me fruit. Air conditioning was cold despite 100+ degrees heat
