Hi!Highly recommend for the views and the atmosphere. The man who owns the property is extremely sweet and polite. Unfortunately, business was slow due to the PCH being closed. The gas is expensive, but one of the only few in the deep of Big Sur, which is understandable. Stop in and get some beer and enjoy the view!!

Enjoyable quaint roadside bar and restaurant, admirably kept open even though the #1 Pacific Coast highway has been closed for years, with very little traffic.

This place offers an amazing view as we dined overlooking the marvelous Pacific Ocean. There is ample parking available, and when we arrived, it was peaceful with only a few diners. It's worth noting that the place is expensive, but you're paying for the exceptional location and view.

Stopped here for a quick refuel during our road trip. Lovely location with great views. Outside had been very nicely done and looks lovely. However, inside was not so nice. Although there’s was a good menu selection it was very pricy and didn’t have much flavour. There was no Wi-Fi and the loo was disgusting.

We were shocked! $62 for a cheeseburger with fries and Cod with fries. Yikes! I've never eaten a $30 burger before! Next time I will ask for the menu before I assume it's just a hamburger! The last stop before the road is out so I guess they can charge whatever they want!

Update, June 2023: After being closed for an extended period of time because of the Highway 1 closure, the restaurant has just opened again, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. I went on a Saturday evening and had an excellent meal of fish and chips with friendly service. Hopefully they will expand their hours through the summer as the visitors return.

Very tasty food. Vegetarian choices were good too. Vantage point overlooking the bay. Need more staff though. There were just 2 people taking orders, cleaning up and billing. It was pretty busy and while they were doing their best , one could tell that they were rather stressed.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. We walked in and the older gray haired woman working there immediately told our group to “look at the menu before you sit down, because we’re on the expensive side.” So rude, but it was the only restaurant near our campsite and we were willing to deal with the ridiculous (and I mean ridiculous- $30 for an unseasoned burger) tourist trap prices for a hot meal out of the rain. The woman working there clearly had some sort of issue and was incredibly curt and bitter to us during every interaction, despite our continued politeness to her. When bringing out our plates, she slammed mine down on the table so hard she splattered ketchup off of my plate and onto the table. The burger was dry, overcooked, and far too basic to justify the price. It was clearly a Costco bun. The bacon was hard and it was barely even warm- and I suspect the fries were frozen bulk bought as well. What’s worse, when the woman came around to ask us if we were ready for the bill and we said we were, she snatched our plates of half uneaten burgers up and stacked them so quickly we couldn’t even tell her we weren’t done eating or request a box. Truly vile behavior. I’ve never left an establishment so quickly or been made to feel so unwelcome. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially out-of-towners who like to be treated with respect. A 30 minute drive to the next block of eateries along the 1 is well worth the effort if it means you get to avoid this place!!

We ordered the halibut which was bland and not worth $45. The latte was more foam than coffee and milk, and inconsistent with the two cups we ordered. When I asked if they could add more coffee to the one that was mainly foam, the answer was no. $8 for a glass of foam with a drip of latte in it. Times two. On top of it, they have an "automatic gratuity" of $12.60 to guarantee themselves a tip for bad service and sub-par food. I recommend you skip this eatery and snack until you get to the next. A waste of $88. Two weeks, five cities, this was the biggest disappointment in terms of F&B.

Although the view is really great, I can't recommend the food here. 20 dollars for scrambled eggs with toast and potatoes is really outrageous. The portion sizes don't reflect the price either. What annoyed me even more, however, is that we were charged for a refill of a Diet Coke (which costs $6 anyway). On the menu, however, is extra mentioned that a refill is included!we wanted to reflect the bad service with the tip, but we could not, because this was directly included in the bill. Best to continue directly and save the trouble and disappointment!

2 stars and near Big Sur?!?!? I have to admit I came here because they had just two stars to better understand WTF was going so wrong here. Who else is this weird? This cafe is right on the coast and overlooks the ocean so they automatically get some credit for just the location. Nothing around either so prices are high and their gas station might be the most expensive gas in the country at just under $10 per gallon during peak times. Insanity. Sit outside in the sunshine and your food might taste just a tad better. I went simple and ordered a cheese quesadilla. It was decent. Do I make a better one at home? Of course I do. But it hit the spot. Like I said that view and ocean breeze always makes things better. Prices are higher for everything, welcome to Big Sur where no large towns are nearby from this end. Would I eat here again? Most likely not. Keep moving either towards Big Sur or Cambria as there are lots of amazing restaurants you'll enjoy.

Do not stop here! Never had such an unfriendly waitress. Food and drinks were unbelievably expensive. A $9.99 tip was automatically added to the check so you are not able to not tip this bad experience. Just in case you need gas for your car: try to reach the the next gas station. Gas at whale watchers starts at $ 9.80 per gallon!! Outrageous usury!
