Amazing food! Small bites with big flavors. We had the salmon, oysters, and paella and all were delicious. Definitely will be back again.

It was nice to sit outdoors with adequate heating. The outdoor portion was dog, friendly. Service was friendly, but they did seem to be always in a rush.

Took a trip to Bodega Bay with my girlfriend for the weekend, and we stumbled across this little gem! The food here was EXCELLENT: the Crab Cakes we both agreed were the best we've ever had, I got the Clam Chowder which was delicious but could've been served a bit warmer, the Grilled Oysters were so fresh and delicious, and my girlfriend really enjoyed the Wood Fired Grilled Mushrooms and the Winter Salad. The wine was also good but we came here for the food! The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal and we loved our outdoor seating overlooking Bodega Bay. Loved this place, it was a great surprise to start our trip! Have been recommending this restaurant to my friends n family and also you, yelp user!

This was a surprise! I didn't even know this is what I wanted to eat...lol. We grabbed a pesto and basil pizza to start and it was the perfect amount of cheese and flavors...paired with wine and pliney, we continued on with the cauliflower that was out of this world and the decadent paella! Wow! We'll be back. Service was great too...didn't hurt we had a front row seat to the bay...but the pizza is the one and only pic I took! That says a lot.

Our favorite neighborhood eatery, superbly delicious cuisine, impeccable presentation, and outstanding service. If only they extended their hours for dinner, we'd frequent it even more.

If you want a place to go during your visit to Bodega Bay, whether it is in a rain stormy day or on a sun shining day, Gourmet Au Bay is the place to go. I recommend the wine flight and some yummy oysters and Brie to start you off and you will not be disappointed. The service is fabulous and staff is welcoming. We felt at home and would recommend to stop by for this fabulous experience.

Surprisingly, there were not many people on a Saturday in February when they opened at 12 PM so they let us sit down at a table without waiting for the rest of our party. Since this was our first time, I went up to the hostess and asked her how it worked. Usually you go to the host stand and stand in line, pay for your initial order so they can open your ticket and then seat you. It was a calm and sunny day, and we chose to sit in the patio area which is shared with the restaurant next-door, but a little more shielded from the wind and sun. We also had two dogs with us, so it was easy to spread them out there. Otherwise, you can also choose to sit on the tables and benches in front outside. I did not go inside, so I'm not sure how it looked. I did use the restroom, which you go up a ramp in the back of the patio the restrooms are shared with the other restaurant. There are separate restrooms for men and women. Since my friend and I had already eaten, we just enjoyed some wine. She got a flight which you can choose whatever three wines from their list that you like. I got a glass of some Spanish wine I had never heard of and the pour was generous. I also had three oysters and the mignonette had an interesting taste I never quite put my finger on. Our husbands were hungry, so they had crab sandwich and paella. The paella was very small. All in all a nice, relaxing place to hang out and eat and drink by the bay. The parking lot is huge although it was getting a little bit busier when we came out. My friends bought some bottles of wine from inside of the restaurant. The server brought out the credit card machine machine to pay at the table. There were compostable takeout boxes.

As a person who lives in the Midwest and rarely gets fresh seafood, this place was a dream. My husband and I shared a smoked clam pizza and the paella (multiple different seafood included) and both were INCREDIBLE. The pilsner on tap was good, too. The service was great, and looking out on the Bay was also great! Would definitely come again!

Love this place. The people. The atmosphere. The PIZZA! Amazing wood fired pizza. We always go for the pizza. We'll drive 40 minutes after work cause this place has my daughter's favorite margarita pizza. Everything we've tried is amazing. Quiet no rush atmosphere. The way it should be.

We used to love going to Gourmet Au Bay every time we stay in Bodega Bay but the order and pay before you eat is getting old. We pay and tip before our food is served, on our last experience they brought our food & drinks in 5 minutes, no one came back to check on us. What happened to the wood fire pizzas? The menu is very limited. I order the roasted Caulifower w asparagus with herbed tahini sauce which was delicious but realized after I left there was no asparagus. My husband always gets the seafood paella which is really good but it would be nice with some bread to dip in the tomato sauce (I thought we got some flat bread last time). The menu is limited and for the price w not much service it's a let down.

Since our last visit the menu has been severely ristricted, portions are extremely reduced, especially for the price. The paella for $24.00 was just a small 4-5" dish, the oysters were only three small oysters for $12.00. All of the dishes were served with no bread to soak up the wonderful juices. All in all the food tasted great, the service was great, and the wine was great but the portions for the price were lousy. Will have to think seriously if we will come back. Very disappointed. Also some of our previous favorites are not even available now but are listed on the comment section below.

I hate to write bad reviews but people need to know. We came Bodega for the oysters. They served over warm salt. Not ice. They were small and overpriced. The crab cakes were horrible. I mean, horrible. Came out in about 5 minutes. Fast food at its best. So so dry and barely any crab. The paella had no flavor an barely any seafood. Service was meh. We had to get up and get our own salt and pepper (yes that’s how bad food was). I you’re from out of town, consider another place.

Perfect small plates, and the Shishito peppers were such a delightful (and delicious) surprise!
