-5 stars for these rotten people. My exquisite German Shepherd went missing on Xmas Eve. We feared he was stolen from our yard as it looked like someone had attempted to break into our yard/garage. We feared he was stolen and could end up on the black market for dog fights or illegal breeding.I woke my entire neighborhood and rallied those in my neighborhood to help. I got a bread crumb of info that a German shepherd was just dropped off here. I drove as fast as I could to find by baby. They REFUSED to let me identify my dog. I was crying intensely like a mother who lost her child. Nobody cared that I needed to know if the dog turned in within 30 minutes of my arrival was my dog. If not, I needed to keep looking for my baby. They laughed at my pain and agony. Thinking my dog was gone forever made my heart broke with every second that passed.About 8 government employees stood around refusing to show me the dog. They gave my dog 3 vaccines within minutes of arriving. (He already had his vaccines). They were preparing to sell him!!! Horrible Horrible human beings. Watching a mother cry with desperation as she fears the worst for her dog and doing nothing!!This is where our tax dollars are going. To lazy sociopath humans that have lost all sense of humanity. My dog was there for less than an hour then they held my dog hostage. I could only get my dog if we paid $200+ and gave up our personal information. Our government and government employees are failing us. Profit over humanity. EPIC FAILURE. Everyone deserves to be fired.

This review is for Animal Control for Imperial Beach (Chula Vista). My cat went missing. She was microchipped. We looked and posted signs all over the neighborhood. We paid for a service to help find her. Then a neighbor told us he had found her dead and called Animal Control to pick her up three days earlier. Why didn't they check her chip and notify us???? Isn't that what the chip is for??? Their behavior was insensitive and negligent.

Lost pet database and photos posted forthwith. Make sure your pet is micro chipped! $21 annually, but the moment a lost pet is brought into the shelter, the chip is read into the system and you are called.

Gabriela “Gabby” was amazing at helping us get our dog back to us with the best intentions. Very thankful that this shelter was there for my dog during a difficult time.

Fairly nice office and staff were busy. But the Poor inmate dogs were starving for attention. I went there to socialize with the dogs but was told not to touch them in their cages.. I felt real bad cause there was no human contact for these animals. It looked exactly like PRISON without any break to play. So sad and not right. If they would give each dog some playtime every day they probably would be less stressed out. ? it's hard to pick out a friendly dog to take home with you when you see them at their worst. I was unable to interact with any of them except for "no contact visit". Miseable conditions for the animals . I left disappointed.

We have begun fostering. Bagel is the best. Please foster and adopt from this shelter. The animals are wonderful here. We love them all.

The Bonita Humane Society is a very neat and clean animal shelter. The staff greet you and the animals appear very well cared for. Their electronic system of registering customers once you check is convenient and you always can see your position. I visited here 3x in the space of 1o days. I came on a Sunday morning when it opened at 10a and found a lynx point male kitten the same breed as my cat who had passed recently. The day I was to return to pick him up after his neuter I received a call that his owners had claimed him. I had no idea that this animal could be claimed and learned my adoption was canceled. I wish I had been told this was a potential before I adopted him and was so thrilled then heartbroken. I returned to the shelter that day and adopted two fluffy white female kittens. They had to be spayed and I was able to pick them up 6 days later.

Hello, I need some one I can speak to regarding dog not being on a leash and pooping all over the apartments .I would like to send emails / updates about this on going issue I don’t believe owners are good pet owners. When bring this up to said person owner they responded with Aug 21st at 4:30 pm owner of said dog said « my dog can do what he wants » and I think the city should do something about this issue. It’s a small French bull dog white and gray At least speak to the pet owner about picking up after her pet and being on a leash. Please send me an email and # I can contact.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Inconpetent and Careless! We lost our dogs, someone found them and brought them here. BIG MISTAKE. My husband was lectured because they said the dogs should not have been brought here. Ok, NOT OUR FAULT. Then we noticed their collars were gone, even though they had them on when they were dropped off. Collars with our address and phone number! They said that is not something they keep. They THROW IT AWAY!!! Guy told my husband we were lucky the dogs are chipped, otherwise we would have had to wait 30 days to adopt them back. What??? This is clearly not a safe place for any animals based on our experience and past reviews.
