I was so impressed and had the good fortune of Tom showing me around the shop. He was very personable and took the time to explain how he obtained the artifacts on display. It was like walking back in time and I felt like I was in a museum! Don't miss a trip to his amazing shop!

This place is not a shop, it is more than an art gallery, it is a true museum, amazing! I fell in love with this place, I wanted to take everything with me. The owner was very kind to us. I hope to return

We happened upon Fredericks this afternoon after lunch. OMG WOW AMAZING! You need to make a trip to Borrego Soring just to see this place. Top quality and excellent prices too. All three of us were excited about the shop. The young sales woman was very sweet. We will be back!

This place is an amazing hidden gem. Literally, it’s full crystals, jewelry, beautiful artwork, pottery, rugs, antiques, etc. Definitely check it out, the prices are quite reasonable too. Friendly staff also and a nice vibe.

STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND GO HERE!!!! Follow along for how I found this place, had my mind absolutely blown and NEEDED to create this Yelp page to help others like myself find this amazing shop!! I'll start off by saying, I like cool stuff. And by cool I mean unique things with a story that no one else has. Target & Home Goods can kick rocks- I'm not interested in mass produced things. So, when I came in to Borrego Springs I naturally Yelped "shopping" to realize there isn't much available in this tiny town. I decided to drive around a bit & saw "The Mall" which looked rather desolate and wasn't sure what it had to offer. Not able to be seen from the parking lot is a huge collection of metal garden art pieces leading up to the store. I'm talking life-sized rhino, donkeys, etc. very reminiscent of the metal sculptures scattered throughout the desert in Borrego Springs by Ricardo Breceda. I see all of this and realize a really cool shop must be associated with the store so naturally I have to go in. I step in & the owner, Thomas Fredericks, greets me & I'm immediately on sensory overload in the best possible way. Imagine stepping in to a museum but EVERYTHING is available to be purchased!!!!!! Seriously. Thomas is an actual archeologist and National Geographic photographer (think Indiana Jones but even more impressive) He has spent the vast majority of his life traveling the world forging bonds with indigenous tribes, remote villages, Native American reservations... you name it and I'm sure he's befriended them. This shop is an expansive collection of pieces from his life's work. He has everything from fossilized dinosaur bones to jewelry to gemstones to pottery to tribal shields. Thomas sells to museums around the world and private collectors. I was fortunate to chat with Thomas for a little while and I was absolutely blown away by him, his incredibly cool life and the stories behind each piece. (Go look for the dart gun if it hasn't sold!) Needless to say, finding this shop, meeting Thomas, and purchasing a truckload of unique pieces for my home was a highlight that will stay with me forever and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks for reading my novel of a review. It takes quite a bit to blow me away and this shop literally took my breath away!
