What a great little getaway! Only a 2-3 hour drive from LA/OC/SD, just enough to feel like a fun scenic road trip with a couple cool bars/restaurants/roadside attractions to check out along the way.I stayed in one of the smaller rooms this time, but definitely plan on getting one of the casitas for my next stay. The pool was popular during our stay as well as the communal BBQ/picnic area that we enjoyed using as well. And once we wanted a change of scenery, the local bars/restaurants were walkable and super fun (highly recommend Carlee’s)! There’s also some pretty good thrifting in the area, as well. Can’t wait to get back to Hacienda del Sol for my next desert fix! ?☀️

This was my 3rd trip to Borrego Springs and 1st time not staying in an RV Park. We decided to not bring the trailer because ours has no AC & it is sometimes a bit of a hassle. It was nice to leave it behind and stay in 1 of Hacienda Del Sol's Casita’s. The front porch opens to the bedroom with a king size very comfy bed, next into a living room area, the living space opens to both the bathroom and a kitchen. The kitchen had a refrigerator with ice box, sink, microwave, coffee maker, and stove with items for cooking. We stayed in #10 which is a shared building with 11. There's a brick wall between the 2 so I could not hear my friend who was staying next door with her husband and 2 kids.Check in was easy. The room offered a book that gave ideas on things you could do or restaurants you could try.My favorite places to eat were:Pablito's (Mexican food located next door), La Casa del Zorro Resort (Casa Cafe & Market - for coffee & quick breakfast), Big Horn Burgers & Shakes (seasonal, opens in November)They have a very large pool and an outdoor area close by with shuffleboard, horseshoes, BBQ, cornhole, and a fireplace (a friend brought smores and we had some). In the lobby they had a billiard table.Outside of the lobby they have an ice machine that came in very handy when filling our ice chest for the day.I enjoyed the vibe of Hacienda Del Sol and the fact that most things in town were walkable. It was chic and clean. They had really large windows which gave the most beautiful view of the desert, but it was a hot weekend, so we mostly kept the curtains closed. I will definitely visit again, hopefully soon.

This place is sick. Super cool skatepark nearby (probably walkable, but we drove). Also, plenty of good food options within walking distance including diner/pizza style bar and restaurant and a good Mexican food place. Rooms have been updated and are very well designed (both the rooms and casitas). Pool is nice and spacious, and there are tons of hiking, off roading, and other activities within a short distance away from the place. Would recommend to friends. Would stay again.

I stayed here with several friends a couple of weeks ago. I loved the views from the motel property. The sunset over the mountainy areas was beautiful while we were playing shuffleboard and the stars are stunning. You can see sooooo many! The new owners have spent a bunch of money improving the property and I love the 1950's decor in the rooms. The AC kept the room cold which was nice to come back to after hiking through the canyons, which are also beautiful. The king size bed in the Casita that I stayed in was very comfortable. I grabbed breakfast across the street each morning at a local diner that had decent prices and great food. I recommend getting a chocolate shake with your breakfast, haha! Seriously, it was delish. And it's vacation so...This was a super cool and unique location to unwind and spend time with friends in a beautiful area. Highly recommend.

This was my husband and my first time staying at Hacienda del Sol and it was just what we needed! It is seriously the best quiet getaway we could have asked for. We stayed in one of the motor lodge rooms and it had everything we needed. There is a mini fridge so we were able to stock up on snacks and drinks at the local market (literally a 1 minute walk from our room). There is a coffee machine and ground coffee so we were able to walk up and sit on our stoop and drink coffee while listening to quiet birds chirping. Everything you need is in walking distance. The local Mexican restaurant, Pablito’s is fantastic! There’s a pool area and a large open recreational area in the middle of where all the casitas and motor lodge rooms are which makes it a perfect event retreat for families, companies, and even a low key desert wedding! We 100% will be coming back when we want a quiet weekend away or if we want to have a desert outing with friends!Rooms: Cozy and super cute! They really thought about everything in terms of amenities.Nearby activities: Casual laid back restaurants, off roaming, desert artWalkability: Everything was in close walking distance of each other

This was was second time that myself, my husband and my dog stayed. We always go with a group of friends. The beds are very comfy able and the decor is cool modern/ retro vibe. There are no tvs in the room which is a great way to disconnect and enjoy the scenery. The stars are amazing. They have a cool communal area that you can have an outdoor fireplace, there is corn hole, giant shuffle board and hot shoes as well as seating. A great place to hang with friends, enjoy some food and drinks and watch the stars. The area is in the middle of nowhere but there’s surprisingly a lot to do. There are some local restaurants and a market super close by. Lots of artwork to look at and drive out too. I recommend a off roading car to take advantage of the state park with off roading trails. Also they have a pool to cool off. Lastly the hotel is dog friendly so it was super cool to have everyone’s dogs roaming around and really enjoying themselves.Plus: the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable of the area with good recommendation

This was our 3rd time staying at the Hacienda del Sol. We absolutely love staying at this property! The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay are are very stylishly decorated. Our most recent trip we came to celebrate my husband’s birthday. What a great place for a destination birthday party with relatives and friends. There is something for everyone. You can sit back and relax by the pool, go off roading, or go hiking in the neighboring state park. For those into art, there is a lovely museum within walking distance and a short drive away there are literally hundreds (130 to be exact) of metal sculptures to be discovered. At the end of the day everyone can meet back up to share their adventures while cozying up by the community fire pit and gazing at the stars. Everything is in very close proximity, including multiple grocery stores, restaurants, and gift shops. It is a great place to go with kids. Since so many amenities are within walking distance, it’s easy just to put the kids in the stroller or wagon and go! And on top of that, the property is dog friendly, so literally the whole family can go and enjoy this little slice of desert paradise. We are already planning our next trip!Rooms: The rooms are clean, spacious, and stylishly remodeled.Nearby activities: Fonts Point, Slot Canyon trail, and looking at the impressive desert sculptures are great activities!Walkability: It is a super walkable area!Food & drinks: We very much enjoyed Carlee’s, Kendall’s, and Poblitos during our stay.

One of the most glorious locations I've ever stayed at, I felt transported to another time. Beautifully designed, with breathtaking views. We woke up early every morning to see the sun rise and light up the mountains. Absolutely will be coming back.Nearby activities: The Borrego Palm Canyon trail is amazing!

Report this business to the DOJ. They discriminated against my disabled relative who came to visit. Upon seeing him they lied and said construction was going to take place and cancelled our reservation after they called to confirm and said she'd meet us outside to check in. This place should not be allowed in Borrego SpringsDO NOT SUPPORT.
