“THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. As soon as I pulled up with my trailer they were so accommodating and friendly. It was hot and I only wanted to use the pool and park to sleep ( no hook-ups). The cute little front desk girl made me laugh and gave me a great deal. I have a whole fire pit AND a picnic table with chairs all to myself! One of the guys in the office even drove down in his golf cart to show me my spot so I wouldn’t get lost. She just kept telling me,” anything you need!” This is def my hiding place when I need to get away from the noise. Thank you SO SO much! ?”

“My stay at Hacienda Del Sol ranks among the most memorable in recent memory. The rooms were beautifully maintained and furnished, and somehow kept genuinely cool despite triple digit heat outside, which is no small feat in the desert. The grounds are equally well considered, designed to move through comfortably whether you’re exploring at golden hour or after dark. The mid century modern architecture speaks for itself to anyone with an eye for it. And like everything else in Anza-Borrego, it’s all walkable. Hacienda Del Sol is no exception. This is my HQ for every future visit.”

“This is a classic mid century desert motel. It is cinder block construction with a shed roof. It is covered in solar panels. The interior walls are white painted cinder blocks but there are newer, colorful southwestern style art, bedspreads, curtains etc. There is a small kitchen with 2 electric elements, microwave, fridge, sink, cooking and serving utensils, plates etc. Cooked 3 simple meals, turned out well. There's a back door off kitchen that opens to a clear area bordered by a hedge. Has a table and chairs for outdoor dining and there is a bbq available. Has a very clean and well maintained pool and spa. Area has amazing sunsets. If you like old architecture, comfort and quiet plus a kitchen, this is it, we loved it.”

“Great quiet little spot right off the main road when coming from northern San Diego. Check in was easy and had no issues.

- Room did not have the AC lowered, so checking in at 3 with a room showing 89• on the thermostat leaves some attention to be desired. The staff was adamant about not lowering the thermostat more than 2 degrees at a time, which it did not hit the lowest allowed temp of 72 until after midnight. Toilet water pressure was non existent, required holding down the valve for over ten seconds to flush a single piece of toilet paper.

- Pool had bees everywhere and crawling all over the hand rails, not sure why but made the experience with all the kids interesting…

- Incredible spot to see the stars…

Overall good spot, management double checking a room before an occupant arrives would be a responsible move seeing as temp was over 106• outside when we arrived. Sweating while trying to sleep had me wanting to just pack the kiddo up and drive the two hours home in the middle of the night.

I would definitely suggest giving them a try, just remember if there are any issues staff leave at 5 so check your room early and if u got a bee allergy hopefully they are gone from the pool area.”
