I stayed here a few years back... not for hunting.. but because my bonehead son chose the absolute most remote Mission for his grade-school project. We had to stay here because it was closest to the property. We found it comfortable, clean, cozy and positively rustic. We made sure our second child chose the mission in Sonoma so that the parents can do research of another kind.

I signed up for the semi-guided pig hunt. I read great things about the owner, Dee Dee and other experiences with the pig hunts. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience. First, I left two voicemails over three days and sent an email but was never contacted. After I got in touch with Dee Dee, she was very helpful and I can tell she was very knowledgably about the pigs on her property. Long story short, I showed up at the property and things were poorly properly organized and everything was mishandled. Dee Dee forgot the property map. 15 mins later, she returned but forgot the rifle for the hunt. Another 15 to 20 mins later, she returned to the property with the rifle. We toured the pig hunt areas for the next two hours. Dee Dee provided a carton map (not an actual map) which was difficult to orient to the property. She is a nice lady and knows pig hunting but the experience was short of a professional hunting guide and for any business for that matter. Save your money and go with a professional hunting guide.

Purchased semi-guided turkey hunt for my dad and I. Had a great time! Saw lots of turkeys, hogs, coyotes, deer. Brought home two nice birds. Property was beautiful. Went scouting with Deedy upon arrival. Saw birds while scouting. Deedy set us up in a great spot. Saw turkeys both days. Perfect mix of guide to where birds are and independent hunting.

My husband came back from hunting and had this to say…You want experience, you want hog hunting info, you better book your next hunt with Deedy. Knowledge isn’t the only thing you’re going to get hunting with this guide. Deedy gave us her map of the property and told us how and where to find these animals and she wasn’t lying. Our group saw and harvested hogs that were on the property just like she said. At the end of the day after we were done hunting, we even jumped a 300 pounder. And of course we’re booking with her for next year, and you should too.

Deedy is just the best. Her cabins are cozy and full of amenities. They have satellite tv, AC, gas BBQs, full kitchen and bathroom. They are great little cabins. The hunt was awesome. I've hunted with Deedy and her guides for two seasons now and my son and I both tagged out. She is always happy to provide her vast knowledge of the area and tracking wild pigs. She taught us a lot and I am truly grateful to her for the hospitality and the awesome hunts. The property is beautiful and we saw tons of pigs. I highly recommend this place- though don't take all my pigs!!

I have been on a lot of guided hunts around the country and a couple hog hunts here in CA before this hunt. Given the fact that it's semi-guided and priced pretty low I went in with pretty low expectations. Good thing! Like others, the outfitter showed us around the property to give us the lay of the land the day before our hunt. Good sign everywhere so we were stoked for the next day. Things got weird when the landowner's (who lives smack dad in the middle of the 500ish acres) dogs were running out in the field. There is also an easement on the property that people used pretty regularly. Not exactly ideal. I know it's semi-guided and I was totally cool with that but she never even attempted to reach out and ask how we did for the two days we were there. When we told her about the experience she got indignant and acted like we didn't know what we were doing. It's basically a scam. Save your money and go with an outfitter that really cares about getting return business.

Don't bother with Bryson Hesperia Resort. Tried to plan a birthday hunting trip. First excuse, the lady has back surgery and can't guide. Second excuse, the landowners mother passed and being buried on property. Third excuse, she's worried about me infecting her with corona virus because of a single case in Alameda county. Bryson Hesperia Resort is full of excuses!
