This is a wonderful location for campers and lodgers. There are campsites with hookups and barebones campsites. There is a large marina and boat ramp with a big parking lot. The lodge has a main check-in spot, which has a wonderful view. The cabins have outstanding views and look comfortable.Rooms: There are attached units for either four or eight guests with spectacular views.Nearby activities: A nearby path will help take you down to the lake and beach.Safety: Kids should not be left unattended.Walkability: There are lots of hills, but it is quite walkable.

Great lake for fishing, and the lake has many coves filled with bass. I caught 13 spotted bass, 1 white bass, and 4 large mouth using a rapala fat wrap deep diver , and a rapala crawfish medium diver. The wildlife was in full swing also. Wild pigs, tame deer, bald eagles, and a white tailed kite. Make sure you don't leave food out at night, the racoons are a pest and they roam the park after you go to bed and they get into anything left out.

My husband, pup and I enjoyed a wonderful camping trip here over Labor Day weekend. We reserved a full hookup for our camper van at the Oak Knoll. We had a great time and the campground was very nice and peaceful. We enjoyed a nice hike to the general store and saw many deer and birds. We would definitely recommend this campsite and will be back!

Family spend 10 straight days at the resort dry camping at Pine Knoll with our RV and boat. We had friends coming in and out during the trip to stay a few days at a time. Unfortunately we had a bad experience docking the boat in one of the resort slips. There was an exposed decking screw that deeply scratched up my boat gel coat. The next day I spoke with Layla the general manager. She was genuinely concerned and quick to get me into a new slip. Layla and I sat down and we worked out a way to make it right all around. I was relieved that we came up with a fair fix. We had a fantastic time and will be back for more! Thanks Lake Nacimiento Resort -Brandon

Unfortunately, you can’t post a review for the lake facilities. First of all if you come on a busy weekend bring your patience getting through the entry. Kiosk is a very daunting task. Once inside you’ll find parking is a premium. The day use beach was pretty well packed. I cruised through the RV campsite area. The campsites are well-maintained with full hook ups. However, if you have a 35 foot fifth wheel like I do, it might be a little tough to squeeze it in. Based on the amount of garbage it’s stacked up around dumpsters. I’m guessing they must be short staffed. They have a nice little store down by the day use area but I was surprised whenI paid six dollars for ice cream sandwich. Restroom facilities around the day use area are premium and the line for the men’s restroom was out the door. There’s a lot of boating activity around the marina areas as you would expect. I understand once you take your boat out across the lake it’s pretty roomy in the lake seldom gets rough. If you plan on making a trip to this later in the summer, you might want to make it a weekday.

Great spot to camp with friends/family, the water was near perfect temperature to swim in. Can get crowded on the weekend especially around

The place is amazing. Clean. The rangers and staff are very hospitable. I love how the rangers are always doing rounds, making sure we're all safe.

Best camping places! Clean restrooms and hot showers. And if you stay in a a loft it’s even better.

We brought our 5th wheel to stay for 3 nights at Oak Knoll with full hook ups. The staff there are super helpful, we had pick of any site that wasn’t booked, some sites are not level and the lower sites would be impossible to get to with a large RV without hitting a tree! so most stay on the top sites! The only other issue we had was the resort store is mostly closed, except for a couple of hours on weekends! Nice trails with lots of ground squirrels!

Nice 5 K trail with some elevation and great views. $17 parking steep. Tip-make sure to stop at the bathroom at the lake resort admin building.

We stayed in the Oak Knoll camp ground. The spots are all very narrow. The spot we were in had a tree so close to our camper that we couldn't roll out the awning. We drove through all of the camp grounds to see if there is another area we would like better if we ever go back. The short answer is no, there are no "good" spots. There are spots that are super small and are on the edge of a hillside drop. So much so that I am not sure how you could put your steps down. Some areas seem like they would be impossible to back in to. One of the camp grounds has large landscaping boulders lining the road which further complicates trying to get into these little spaces. It seems like whoever designed the layout is unfamiliar with camping or driving a trailer. Our friends stayed in one of the large lodges. I didn't think anything could be worse than the RV grounds, and then I saw the lodges. This was our friends' first time coming out with us and I don't think I will be able to convince them to try it again at a different location. It rained in the lodge all weekend. The lodge was freezing cold. It smelled moldy and gross. Also we originally booked 2 small lodges but switched to 1 large lodge. Because we made the change within 14 days of our trip, they wouldn't refund the difference in price - which I understand is their policy. However, we were there New Year's weekend and for 2 nights we were the ONLY people in the RV grounds and the lodges were all almost completely empty until the last night we were there. So changing the booking literally did not make a difference to them and they got $600 of free money from me because they wouldn't even refund a portion of it.Parking in the RV areas and especially near the lodges is awful. So limited and so narrow. Also, if you are planning to go with dogs, be aware they do not have a dog park, which is so crazy to me. Creating a fenced area for dogs to have a little bit of freedom would be such an inexpensive thing to do.I do not plan on booking another trip to this "resort". I actually think I would have considered giving them another try, but I cannot get passed the issue of the no refund. It just feels so greedy, and I want no part of it.

Went for my birthday end of Oct and LOVED it! First time there so didn't know what to expect. We camped at Pine Knoll stall 16. Great access to water , bathroom, trail and big grass area next to campsite. Grill, fire pit and tree at site. NO ONE else was camping so very quiet! Deer came out every afternoon. My dog loved sitting on grass at night deer watching. Lots of wild life to appreciate (prob not around when busier). Warm water and light in showers. Electrical outlet in bathroom, flush toilet. Compared to backcountry camping I felt like I was glamping. Staff VERY friendly and patient with all my questions. Weather at this time of year warm 70s during day and maybe 40s at night. We walked the 3mi trail that goes through all campgrounds daily. Grocery store about 20min away if you forget anything. (General store on site closed at this time of year). I prob wouldn't got any other time of year as it would probably be too busy for me. If you want quiet camping, this is the time and place to go!!
