I was here yesterday and made a purchase that cost me over $40. Been going to Aveda for OVER 10 plus years and SPENT A LOT OF MONEY AT AVEDA! I was at Brea Mall today and wanted to stop by and get more samples. I showed my receipt as proof. The lady working there today, Tue, 8/19/2025, a Hispanic woman with light blonde highlights about 5’4” would not give me any of the samples in the Aveda packets because she said I went there yesterday and already got samples. I did, but I only got one of each and I was asking for another sample of one of each of the hair products. She said No! She would only give it to me in the plastic white little container. FYI, she was cleaning the floor with a swifter and didn’t wash her hands before touching the products. She gave me a sample of the light elements in the little jar but as I was walking out the store I threw it out because it might be contaminated because she didn’t wash her hands. The Hispanic lady is not nice at all and if I see her there I am not going to buy anything that day. The lady the day before was nice because she gave me samples.

Their products are great and the employees have the knowledge the only issue I have is the stinginess when it comes to samples. We are paying customers we are not just coming here grabbing freebies and ditching maybe some people are just getting freebies but honest realistically: who has the time to drive to the mall start up a convo just to get some hair samples that might last us a week. Just give us the samples so we do not have to buy the full size use it realize we do not like it then return it. Or we might not buy at all because the products here are expensive. Like what a waste. I see the whole stock of samples in the drawers behind you don't tell me you don't have any. I have to assume management trains the employees to be this way. I see this behavior with aveda and kiehls and lush all high end places and it's one main reason why I am reluctant to shop in store and was turned off by lush and stopped purchasing there.

independently owned, rarely has products available, want your name and telephone number to call you (Hum) when the product arrives, then you can order it. They can't stock their shelves because of financial issues. On top of that, I have been a customer for 20 yrs and they decided to close my points out. I go to Aveda every 4 to 6 months. Not going to go anymore.

Store is clean and welcoming. I've never had a bad experience there and the entire staff is friendly. Customer service is fantastic, and Joanna is amazing. She goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is exceptional and is a shining star for Aveda!

TRIED THEIR CHERRY ALMOND LEAVE IN CONDITIONER AND NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE SMELL. I USED IT MANY YRS AGO AND THE SMELL WAS MUCH STRONGER. I WOULDN'T BUY IT AGAIN.

Walked in against my better judgement Black Friday weekend with my husband and saw 3 workers doing each other's hairs and sitting behind the register. The girl from my previous review walked towards us but now with black hair and asked us if we needed help as the other workers giggled. Walked out and decided to just order online.

This review is for your sales associate with purple hair and blue eyes who was closing Friday night 10/04/2019 at the Brea Mall. So sorry, I did get her name, but she is such a caring and understanding human being! She deserves 5+ stars. I walked in with my mom and she immediately greeted us and asked if we needed help finding a particular product. Then, she walked up and offered me some tea (Yelp check-in for 1 free comforting tea). Your other employee stayed behind the counter silent looking ready to go home. Anyways, we had A LOT of questions about the products and she was really patient with the two of us and was very knowledgeable. I appreciate the great customer service.

Had a free facial today. Joana is very knowledgeable about skin care and is very willing to share tips with you. She is not just out to sell you products like most places would. She takes time to understand what your needs are and recommend accordingly. Definitely worth visiting.

Went to the Brea Mall to use my 17,000 points that I had collected over the years. I was told when I joined their club for a $10.00 fee that my points would never expire . Not true my points were canceled because it had been two years since I purchased any products . So disappointed at their customer service . I will never shop at Avenida again
