Since our last visit with them, we didn't hear back from them. They were supposed to call us back to book an appointment with a cardiologist but there was no updates. When we felt it was weird we were not getting contacted for follow-ups, or vaccinations, we contacted banfield chat support. They said someone at their office marked our cat as either: deceased, rehomed, or out of service from them. Very disappointing that they would not update us or even bother giving us a call to confirm the accuracy of this information. Our cat is very much alive, definitely not rehomed and we never left our service from them. They do have a lovely team but we will be finding a new vet, as errors like this create large concerns regarding the well-being of our cat.

Doesn't look like Banfield wants to try and resolve this so I'm taking to social media. When I was freshly moved out at 18 (I'm 22 now) I had found a kitten outside who I wasn't sure if I would keep or not. I took her to the closest location, which would be in Brea and asked them to check the kitten and just give a round of vaccines. The ladies at the desk were INSISTANT that I sign up for their health plan, and not realizing Banfield actually had a class action lawsuit recently for their scam they call "pet insurance", I signed up being young and naive. I had specifically told them just to do the services I asked for, so if I didn't end up keeping the kitten I could just pay for what I owed. Well my friend took the kitten and didn't wanna keep the plan, which was very smart. When I asked them to cancel it and give me the balance for the services I asked for they gave me a bill of 400$! That's as much as a trip to the emergency pet hospital, not a clinic. Apparently they did tons of other things I didn't ask for on the very same day I had told them to just do the vaccines and deworming. I told them I would not pay for services I didn't as for. After getting tons of letters I later called the manager to talk about what happened and he confirmed that the staff did in fact NOT ask me before doing those services when I had made it clear I only wanted the specifics. He said he was sorry and that the bill would be taken care of. Flash forward to today, I get a bill in collections for the more then 400$ bill. I call them back and they agreed to take off the services they didn't ask me for, but then said they were tripling the prices for the services I received (which only should have been about 100$) they said I still owed 300$. When I look back at my bills and how much I paid to them during that time, I actually paid them well over that much! I sent an email to the now manager, Brooke and she has not replied to me in about a week. She was also the one who said she was tripleing the prices because "That's market value" when I now know for a fact it is not. The Humane society charged me less then 100$ for everything I had asked them to do for 300$. In the end, they will try to grift you and con young people into signing up for their already proven scam. I'm surprised they haven't learned their lesson after their lawsuit, but maybe they need another one? I have a great lawyer and I've never lost a case despite being so young. You messed with the wrong girl, Banfield, and I'm not done. Take the L, you tried to scam a young girl and you already got your money, now you want more? Sick and deranged people to steal from young disabled girls. I hope you go bankrupt

Terrible Service, absolutely rude and condescending. Don’t recommend coming here at all. Doctor Hergenreter had no humanity or basic empathy for us and our sick dog. Came in for a consultation she walks in the room with an attitude makes a comment about how many people were in the room and how we brought our other dog. After trying to explain what was going on and all of the symptoms she says well I don’t see anything do you have and previous tests. The whole time her condescending tone trying to dismay what we were trying to explain. We explained clearly that our dog was coughing and wheezing for a prolonged amount of time. And she continued to say well panting in a dog is normal when they are older. It was an absolutely mess. She was absolutely unprofessional by making the whole situation about herself. Saying if we put our dog down that it would be on “her” conscious. As if it wasn’t already an extremely difficult and tumultuous decision. We came in for a second opinion cause a previous vet diagnosed our dog with terminal cancer. We had been to 3 other vets who had told us the same thing. When she asked where we said one of them was in Mexico. And she made a comment about oh Mexico as if people there aren’t educated as well. There was a completely racist undertone to her judgement. In this supposed consultation and physical in which accumulated to less than 5 minutes in which she checked nothing of the dog. Cause we walked out due to how preposterous the whole ordeal was they then had the audacity to try and charge us when nothing was done. Saying because she did a physical. When we asked what the physical entailed it was things that weren’t obviously done. Offered zero solutions or treatments made no effort at all to be understanding. They are complete scammers. Completely unprofessional good thing she is only Vet and not a human doctor cause she lacks complete empathy. I will say the only kind person in the building was the person at the front desk.

DO NOT GIVE HEARTWORM FLEA MED!!We are new to Banfield. They've been ok with the normal routine check ups. They recommended a heartworm and flea med and I decided to put my dog on it, I asked for any side effects, they said little to bone, the lady at the counter even said her 2 pets were on it with no side effects. So I gave her the med, she the 2nd day starting vomiting, her legs started to get spasms and she wasn't the same. She's been a perfectly good healthy playful puppy. When I called Banfield they were of no help, they actually told me to call the manufacturer of the medication and gave me their phone number. after looking up everyone else in the internets pet reactions they have also experienced death. Note to self; don't trust the vet and do your research. Vets are in it for the money.

I had a great experience today with this vet, came in with an emergency with my dog and they took great care of him. They stayed in contact with me regarding his needs and their procedures. It was my first time at this vet and I will keep coming back.

I took my stray kitty in for neutering and though the price was steeper than they quoted they did a great job.

I signed up for for the year long contract to pay for my kittens shots and to take care of her through the year the 61.15 a month was supposed to pay for her shots and to spay her but when I go in I get charged and when I wanted to cancel they wanted to charge me over 500.00 for 2 weeks of service I paid over 300 out of pocket, they double charged me for items I paid cash for and services they did not provide. There is never a manager available to discuss and the 800 customer service line, has no answers for me

Feel terrible leaving review regarding pet hospital since we all love our pets. this place is so busy & most of the staff has no idea what they are doing. They constantly waste time confirming appointments. Also several emails it's too much. I recieved 3 calls from them . 3 even after canceling this appointment. I called to cancel. Was called 2 x to be Reminded about appointment even after cancelling. Then was called again morning of appointment not to reschedule but to check if I was coming! Maybe check incoming calls first ? There's a reason I cancelled. Maybe this is why they are always too busy?! Mostly all Calls go to voicemail. Pretty ineffective. What is goin on with front desk? Very confusing not a good system feel like I am getting harrassed. they really push you into expensive treatments procedures etc.. So many employees that don't seem to know what the other staff is doing communication between them needs inprovement. Not sure how a simple cancellation gets to be so complicated.:(

I've never been a fan of being locked into any monthly membership price, however I signed up for 2 Pet Plans with this location because of the wonderful care they gave my French Bulldog Puppy. My puppy got food poisoning from a local restaurant and I thought I was going to lose him he was too little to withstand the ongoing issues the stomach issues he was having. The amount of hands-on care, involvement, follow up and treatments he received blew me away. We don't even see that type of service anymore even for our own matters. I was just so impressed and so grateful that I signed up both of my puppies on a monthly membership with them. Yes, it is for a year but my dogs are healthier and safer now with their ongoing care, health check ups, vaccines and routine testing. This is a wonderful staff that knows there stuff. I don't know about other locations but I'm very happy with this specific staff.

I've been taking my elderly black lab, Princess Leia, here for years. The staff has always taken great care of her and I always felt she was in wonderful hands with them. Earlier this month at just short of 14 years old my Leia lost functionality of her back legs and we had to say goodbye. The staff was so wonderful on making sure the process was as gentle as possible and they were extremely comforting and understanding of what I was going through. A couple weeks later I received a card from them giving their condolences of my lost girl and I cried upon receiving it. So grateful for the care they always provided.

I like this location because it isn't in a store. I've been able to get in when it was urgent quickly. The staff has been kind to my pet. If you have the plan, it is more cost effective.

Good place for your pet health needs, however The place seems to have changed the interaction experience with the vet. Years ago, I had two dogs on a regular health plan with them and although it was a little costly, i had a personal experience with the vet while treating my pets; I felt as though I got my value and greater satisfaction out of the service. Now, all I get is the vet tech out front who takes my pet back and I get no interaction, no witness to treatment or otherwise. I am sure they will use the Covid excuse for the change in care and such but I don't buy into this. It is a corporate move to "process" more pets and such. I don't even know if there is a vet in the back or if they spend much time with the animal. I will cancel my pet care plan when the year is up. I am disappointed in what Banfield has become.

WARNING!! Just for the heads up if your pet dies at the beginning of your policy they will still continue to make you pay your monthly for the rest of the year.

I would not recommend this place for rescued, and labeled aggressive, pitbulls.I took my rescue, labeled aggressive, pitbull to be seen about a bump on back leg that I noticed about 30 minutes before going to visit this location. One of the workers said the bump would probably just go away after glancing at it from a distance, before we entered the building. I asked her to take a closer look. She repeated the same thing and said I can mention it once my dog is taken to be examined.I brought it up to the head examiner, she said she would give me some things for his bump.I used a first time free visit because I was not in the best position to pay anything that day.I told the head examiner that I am not in the position to pay anything that day.She quickly stopped all conversation with me and just walked away. She did not tell anybody else to finish me, so I was left standing there wondering what to do. I decided to ask another worker if she could finish checking me out. I, honestly, didn’t have much time to wait. We were on our way to a balloon release for a family passing. The worker had to go to the back to ask what she should do with me. When she came back, she checked me out and told me I was good to go.Other workers told me to give my dog a lot of treats and positive reinforcement to build his confidence. So, I am confused as to why it was so hard for me to get any information on what to do about the bump on my dog’s back leg. I left with no information, at all, on what to do about the hump on his back leg. I, also, had muzzle him, which I have never had to do at any other vet business. So, I am not confident in recommending this place to rescued, labeled aggressive, pitbulls.Although, I could have only received this experience because I was not in good position to pay and only wanted to use the free visit that day. So, I would take this into account, too.I gave 2 stars because there was one worker there who was nice enough to tell me to be big on positive reinforcement and treats to build my sweet boy’s confidence. I am very thankful for her advice because I was going to give up on the treats, since he ignores them when in high anxiety, until I went to professional training with him.
