Similar to other reviews, I’ve had a terrible experience with management. I froze my membership for a few months through staff at the front desk. The staff member assured me that I would not be charged for the upcoming months. I realized I was being charged $139 every month my account was supposed to be frozen and when I contacted management they said they couldn’t do anything and I was not going to receive a refund for those 3 months. Also, you MUST give a 30 day cancellation request via email to cancel your membership. Meaning if your billing cycle is within those 30 days, you are obligated to still pay.

If you’re pregnant, beware and keep everything in writing because the contract at this studio is a total trap. This studio has a couple great instructors who really care, but the management and business are going to bring you more stress and frustration than you need during this important time in your life. I used to work at two different Pure Barre studios, and the care at the Brea location is shockingly impersonal.I’m near my due date and have pains that are making it difficult to attend classes. I called the Pure Barre studio a week prior to my membership renewal date, and a nice woman told me she’d text her manager to get my membership freeze or cancellation squared away. She said he’d contact me, which he didn’t. I waited a few days, then followed up via email. First of all, for some reason, it’s difficult to speak to a person with the authority to alter your membership on the phone - which creates a delay in communication (but this could’ve been because I was calling around 6pm, at the end of my work day).Secondly, they didn’t even bother to check my records and tried to tell me I couldn’t cancel. They had confused me for someone else at the studio with a similar name and just didn’t even respond to my email until I called and emailed again. Then, they tell me I have to pay another month of unlimited before I cancel because they are backdating my request to the email follow-up (do they not keep track of client communications?) - my other option would be to freeze the account and contact them 30 days prior to every renewal, so even while I’m delusional and recovering from giving birth, or they’d charge me for unlimited classes that month.I expressed that the loopholes are frustrating, and they gaslit me saying (verbatim): “There are no loopholes in these agreements and they are rather straightforward.” No bedside manner, empathy, or regard for why this whole process might be frustrating.I’ve asked them to call me, so we’ll see if they do. My mother had also signed up at this studio so that we could attend together, but I am frankly disgusted by the way that this location operates. I can tell you that Pure Barre locations elsewhere operate differently, and I am incredibly disappointed that a gym that touts care towards expecting mothers would treat their clients this way.Lastly, worth mentioning for any other Asians in the community - a few Asian American friends of mine have gone to this location and have expressed that they experienced micro aggressions from staff. I haven’t experienced this myself, but I know that my mother was uncomfortable because she felt the instructors were avoiding her because of her “broken” English. We will recommend to our friends that they not waste their time or assets supporting this location.

Be careful if you join. They make up contracts that haven't been signed by you. Then they keep charging you the over priced monthly fee. Oh, and they always canceled classes.

The classes are effective, and the instructors are wonderful, however, the business model is terrible. If you decide to try the studio out, do NOT buy a membership! When you purchase a membership you have a limited time to use your credits and if you don’t use them by the allotted time you lose them. (Even though you already paid for the classes) This is a terrible way to do business! If you pay for a product, you pay for a product. They should not expire. If you are someone who would never miss a work out then the membership is for you, but for those with intense work schedules or traveling for business etc, beware.

As a satisfied member of Pure Barre...... I can't imagine anyone giving them less than 5-stars based on my experience Game Changer! There's such an amazing spirit in this place. The energy is healthy, positive and contagious. I've never felt so comfortable in a pair of leggings, there just is no judgment. Yes, the workout is hard. Yet, you'll never feel more motivated than these instructors. Michelle's classes have changed my body, improved both my physical and mental health. The confidence she's restored in me, plus the friendships I've built go on well after the music ends!! Pure Barre, Brea is more than a fitness studio. It is about relationships. Michelle, Abdi and all the amazing instructors care. They want you to achieve your workout goals, and they're really there to help you succeed and that flows into all areas of our lives......

DO NOT GO. Do Not GO. If I can give no stars I would. Terrible place. They are scammers. The owner Abdi is the worst, if you know what's best for your health don't go here. Michelle is the worst instructor and she doesn't care about her clients. Employees don't wear masks CDC Needs to audit this location because it's sad how they don't care about covid.

Worst customer service ever. I signed up for 1 month unlimited trial for new members for $100 which is a really good deal, don't get me wrong. This was right before the covid lockdown. Once that happened and I realized I can't use the offer, I reached out to them asking for refund. They responded saying that I can use the offer once things open again. At this point my hours at work had been cut down to part-time which if you're familiar with the unemployment benefits, I couldn't get any EDD with part-time hours because my status was considered as making "too much" to be eligible. So the $100 refund would help me a lot so I reached back out to them saying I would like the refund because the $100 would help me a lot and also because I did not feel comfortable going in-person due to fear of exposure and doing online course would not be beneficial for me as in-person works best for me. They did not respond back to me after that. Funny because they have no problem sending me automatic advertisement emails and deals to this day but can't even reply back to my email.

Horrible experience after being with them for almost a year I happened to have health issues which made me freeze my membership for a while As I was going through a medical treatment I obviously couldn't contact them before my " agreement" expired so I was charged because I missed for one day and now they want to charge me for the whole month after I was literally almost dying Seriously Plus if you look at their schedule they're only left with three instructors I wonder why ??!

I originally started with a groupon and thought I'd give PB a try. The first class was so challenging and yet I kept coming back! I recently completed 100 classes at the Brea location. I love everything about Pure Barre and am hooked! It's always challenging and each instructor is amazing and the classes are unique. Everyone there is friendly and welcoming. I couldn't imagine not having PB as part of my life! Give it a try and you'll be hooked too!

This is my favorite workout. I love how every week is different. Although I been taking pure barre classes since august, I never felt like I plateau. Every class burns and has its challenges. It's also a full body workout and I feel the burn in areas I never thought I would burn. It looks simple and easy. But it's actually very detailed and small range of movement that takes a lot of focus and energy. Ever since I started taking Pure Barre, my posture improved and my back pain is gone. Who knew that 2lb dumbbells would be so heavy? They also always offer the most stylish work out clothes and socks at their studio. Every instructor and staff is welcoming and know you by name. And its such a comfortable, clean, and professional environment.

I started two weeks ago and I now look forward to my next class everyday! Instructors are very knowledgeable and friendly! I am not going to lie. The workout is tough but you will see the result pretty soon. I highly recommend Pure Barre Brea location!
