I use to belong to Patelco Credit Union a couple of years ago thru my job. Customer service was very professional and knowledgeable on questions I had. Im planning on opening an account with them once again.

Saturday 8/19/23, I walked into the Brentwood Branch at 10:45 and there was no one waiting for help with loan, however 2 people were being helped with accounts. I was approached by the Manager Shayan at 11:15am and was told to come back at 12pm. I left and came back at 11:50 am. I was told by Shayan that he will help me as soon as he is done with the customer he was helping. At around 12:05 he was done with his customer and another banker was done with her customer. At this time Shayan told me that he will get someone else to help me and him and his coworker proceeded to help 2 other customers, one whom I overheard say she was waiting for 40 minutes. At 12:28 pm no one was coming to help me with a loan and I had enough. I got up and told Shayan as I was walking out that I am leaving and that his customer service is terrible and he was to help me but instead took the other customers whom where there well after me. I had 2 prior auto loans paid off with Patelco and am considering closing my accounts because of this experience.

Patelco USED to be a great place to keep your money. I have not been able to deposit checks via phone for ages....used to be a great service. I have not been able to get into my bank account due to "password problems"....most of this is computer screw ups. Also, recently I was told "insufficient funds," which shocked me because I had over $40,000 in a savings and had always known that if I screwed up on my checking, they would automatically cover me with my savings. NOT. When you try to get ahold of a human being online, they tell you to call....make that call and then they give you a few choices of what you can get a robot to help you with....and, though there is no "none of the above" choice, they finally just hang up on you. Every time I have been in there and want to see someone about all of this, there is a line of people both waiting for the "desk" people and a long line for the "tellers." I have an appointment tomorrow to get the heck out of Patelco. Now, I need to find an old fashioned place that takes care of its customers.

Patelco as a bank in general, is kind to those who are just starting their credit-building journey. But outside of that, it's not worth the aggravation. They have money-transfer issues, routing glitches, and tech problems that shouldn't be problems anymore since it's 2023. I advised my friends to transfer banks because even I am getting bothered by all the "improvements" it needs.

I was directed to come into the branch to pick up new ATM card. Original ATM card was lost and had to get a replacement which meant new number. I had asked if I can keep the same number because I do a lot of online bill paying anyway, I went and made my request and waited in the lobby for about 10 minutes. The teller staff was really nice and mentioned that they just need to create it really quick and to just have a seat. Later a gentleman walked up to me and confirmed my identity and handed me my card. It was cracked and scratched but he had said "it's OK it's still works." I looked at him and asked, can you give me another one because this one doesn't look new and it has a lot of blemishes and scratches. He said it's fine it works perfectly normal when I asked to place get a replacement, he said it would take longer because I was already issued the card number to my account, and they would have to start all over again. As if I am an inconvenience to his time. he had other important things to do. I didn't like that and how I was treated and made me feel.Needless to say, this is not my frequent branch as I use the one in a Livermore next to my work. The staff and manager there are so much nicer and approachable.

Had a bad experience this morning. A person bypassed the line went right up to front (5 customers in line) and demanded service as soon as she sat in her chair her daughter (baby) placed for her. The teller immediately served her without hesitation. It was rude and obnoxious and it would definitely been a different situation if I had behaved the same way. I would have been told to wait my turn!!! Patelco, shame on you!!!!

Just identified a huge error / mistake / errors in their savings account transfer of funds process. On January 5, 2023, I had initiated a transfer of $3,xxx.00 from my Patelco savings account into my marcus.com savings account.I noticed that the $3,xxx.00 got transferred to " Share ******888-00" on January 6, 2023. There is a mistake on the transfer because I did not initiate the transfer to ******888-00 which appears to be another Patelco savings account.I need to dispute this transfer which was supposed to go to my marcus.com external account not to an internal account that I do not own. I do not have an account ending in ******888. This is a huge mistake. Lots of thoughts pop in my head, Could this be an internal fraudulent activity ? Patelco did email me confirmation initially just after I submitted the transfer request which showed the correct destination of my marcus.com savings account. However a few minutes later my Patelco Auto Alert sends me a notice that my transfers of the $3,xxx.00 from my Patelco Savings is being sent to a " Share ******888-00". On the following Monday, I called customer service and inquired about this. To keep a long process short, Tashae (Member Experience Specialist ) did followup on this post and let me know that the *****88-00 is a holding account number. I did confirm that the funds did get transferred to my external bank on the following Tuesday. I am really grateful to Tashae who reached out to me and provide me a followup. It restores my confidence in Patelco as a reliable Credit Union with processes that have all been flawless. I think I jump the gun and panicked unnecessarily.

I cant say good enough things about Patelco especially the manager there Etelih!! She is so quick with her responses and knows how to get the job done quick and easy!! Love patelco and the staff here!!
