Don't do business with this company. This clown was driving his company car 20 miles over the speed limit on Byron highway entering into Brentwood. He then went into a turn only lane at 80 mph to make an illegal pass. I couldn't believe he had company tags and paint all over the Chevy truck. West coast solar all over it. Called the phone number and the person on the phone / owner couldn't care less. Mind you this was at 650am when it's still pretty dark out. Don't trust these idiots on your house or property.

I had a great purchasing experience buying through Joe, he was terrific and straight forward. Quote was the best of anyone else and easy to understand. Joe was responsive and made the entire process easy. Everything was done on time and efficiently.I wish I could say the same about the customer service. I could never get ahold of anyone from that department and just like others have said, the monitoring is non existent. Check your own production every few weeks because I too had an issue that wasn't caught for a while. I don't know if I ever got a refund. But I will say, the second I let Joe know, there was a fix. Joe basically was sales and customer service in one, and that's way more than his role but he took care of me.5/5 for install ease.1/5 for their customer service specialist who I never could get a hold of10/5 for Joe A. who carried the team and would answer my questions at all hours.

Horrible experience. They sold me 27 solar panels just shy of 4 years ago. I never once had a problem until last year. On August 17th, 2022, they switched from 3G to 5 G with Mobile, and did not notify me. I found d out my inverter was offline when I called PG&E to find out why my bill was so high.I contacted West Coast Solar and they admitted to switching servers to T mobile to go to 5G, and explained my system was knocked out because my inverter was 3 G. I found out 3 or 4 months after my system went offline after multiple calls to PG&E trying to figure out why my "overbuilt system" was failing so miserably with energy production. They did not install the new inverter until February 17th of 2023! I paid upwards of $5000 in 6 months for energy charges, and now have subsequent true up charges of over $2300 because of it. They offered me $600. I said NO! This company does not do right by their customers and does not show good faith with servicing their equipment, communication, or making things right when called on service issues. Everything is on a 25 year warranty. I would not recommend this company at all! They do not stand by their claim as a professional Buisness who has optimal customer service.

I got great service but a year into my service they should be monitoring my system and my inverter went offline. They had to rma my system but it took 4 Months to acknowledge that they didn't monitor the system. They replaced the inverter but now do not want to recompensate me for accrude PG&E charges. My customer service representative will not respond to emails. Would not recommend this company.

We have had 0 production from our system for almost THREE MONTHS now. I have been calling West Coast multiple times a week to try to get someone out to fix whatever the issue is and have gotten zero response or calls back. This is absolutely unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and go with a company that will actually answer the phone or return your call when issues arise.

Super unfortunate, but this company has completely gone MIA on my install, in particular after my friend of 30 years left the company as a salesperson (the ONLY reason I gave this company my business). Signed the contract in September 2022, was suppose to be installed November 2022. Was pushed back until February 2023. Finally got an inspection in MAY 2023 only to find out they installed it incorrectly. Now can't get any one at West Coast Solar to expedite a reschedule to fix the issues and get my inspection completed. I have paid 2/3 of my contract and yet can't recognize a dollar of solar energy. From what I have heard this company has fallen apart, my buddy went to another company, and I have an unusable system on my roof. Going to start the arbitration process to get another company to buy my contract. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I am updating my review to 3 stars as I finally got a response for them to look into this. I will do another update in the next 1 or two weeks on how it goes.---------------------------------------I had the solar panel installed about two years ago. I liked the process of it getting installed and I was happy with the savings I was getting on the electricity. However, the solar edge monitoring started failing starting May last year. I was told that the solar panels are still producing energy. I know it is because I see that via my PG&E bill but it is not showing net output from the panels. That is the reason why I wanted this solar edge to work. I paid a lot of money to also have the ability to monitor the solar panel generation. Someone was supposed to come late last year and no one has done so. I have been following up but no response. Last thing I heard is that there's cost to upgrade the system. I don't think it should be coming from my end.

Terrible service! They are fast to get your money but when it comes to service I can relate to all the negative comments here involving lack of customer service, no return calls and no resolution. Been out of solar production since Jan as far as I can tell. Took 2 months to get inverter warranty replacement installed and now I'm not even sure if I'm producing! No activity on the app.. I'm not sure how they stay in business with the lack of business acumen. Should be a simple process or respect to at least respond to emails, voicemails and calls...

They might ghost you for no reason. Don't bother to contact them. You will get no response.

Worst Worst and Worst are only three words I can say. I have called them to fix a issue about 10 times, finally they opened the case which they have not followed up after months. Not sure where to go to get help. Not a co. to work with strongly suggest

Starting at the beginning, the sales representative was helpful and responsive. My installation date was delayed a number of times and after the installation was completed, I didn't receive the LG battery backup I purchased for several months after. The LG battery very quickly died. WCS said they were waiting for LG for several months. The warranty was apparently meaningless. It did ultimately get replaced, but it was over three months before anyone did anything. Most of the time I would send an email that got no response. Then one of the optimizers died and I was getting no production on some panels for some time. All the monitoring that they touted during the sales pitch was nowhere to be found. I was the one who noticed that it had died and beg to get a repair. The panel wasn't Then there is the so-called production guarantee. I am three years into owning this system and never once has it met the level of production I was promised. In the first two years, I was blown off when I raised the issue. On June 29th, 2022 (EIGHT MONTHS AGO), I raised the issue of low production again. They largely ignored most of my inquiries after acknowledging that production was FAR from the guaranteed level. In MID OCTOBER, they finally sent a surveyor to find a new location for more panels on my roof.Took four months of constantly nagging to get someone out. It took ANOTHER four months from the time a surveyor came for them to send an installer. On February 7th, they finally sent an installer to put up the three panels. Remember, I raised the issue for two years of low production, and it took nearly EIGHT MONTHS from this chain of communication to lead to this point. The installer left at the end of the day saying his phone was dead so he couldnt verify if my panels were working. It actually seemed to me he was struggling with troubleshooting the new panels because at one point he asked me how many panels I had prior to them arriving. When I told him he looked frustrated. He said, "the panels should come online in a little while but I can't check because my phone is dead". It just so happens that he worked all day and it was now like 5pm. So I check the app every day until now, Feb 23 and the panels are still not online from anything I can see.I have sent four emails since those additional panels were installed and called once. I have received no responses.Generally speaking, the vast majority of emails I have sent along this eight month process and the several months of waiting for defective battery to be fixed went unanswered. Not even to confirm that they were received but nothing had changed. The emails I'm sending are CCed to several people on the WCS team, including management. No one gives a damn because they have my money.I can wait when I need to wait. The lack of communication is really really very disappointing. Here I am and it's almost March and no idea what is happening.Solar is a commodity and you can get it anywhere. WCS isn't even the cheapest option by any stretch of the imagination. Go elsewhere.Yes, the company has lots of good reviews, but the vast majority of solar installs go off without a hitch. When things go wrong is when you find out what all the sales bluster, promises and guarantees actually are worth. You're stuck with your solar installer for 20+ years. Don't do it to yourself.Notice that I'm not the only person complaining about service once they have all your money.Edit 3/20/23: Shortly after posting this review I was contacted and apologies were expressed and the issue with my additional panels were finally dealt with. On the one hand, the issue was resolved. On the other...it took eight months and a complaint in a public forum. You be the judge on what that outcome is worth.Guess what though? During a high wind event on 3/13/23, we experienced a major power outage across the bay area, hundreds of thousands of homes. Finally, my $10k investment in a battery backup would come in handy. Guess what? The battery completely failed in a nearly 24 hour outage

This place has Terrible service after you buy their product. Having problems with my system, asked for someone to come out and look at it. They said it all looks good on their end by computer. I said Its Not OK On My End. I paid big money for this system and they refuse to come out. My bills are generally 25-40 per month. Last one I got was 456.00 for electric side. There's a problem. Great when they sell it to you TERRIBLE after the checks cashed.

I have a system that was installed by West Coast Solar that they are now refusing to service. Their name is on the permit. They installed the system on my home. But they "just don't have the people" to service it. So, realize that if you go with these guys, and something happens- which it will- you will be last in line behind the next sale. Also, before you go with ANYONE, for Solar, make sure they are a member of CALSSA. All CALSSA members promise to abide by a code of ethics. Needless to say this company is NOT a member of this group.
