Barinder is very knowledgeable about Subarus. He clearly explained what services were necessary with none of the usual upsells you typically find at other shops. “Got my 2018 Colorado ZR2 V6 transmission flushed here. It had a known chevy shudder and Andy was well aware of this issues with these models. He suggested I bring my own fluid to save money and he performed the flush and fill along with a shudder stop additive. The truck has been super smooth ever since. Will be brining my truck there for all my transmission needs.”

Mike was able to diagnose the problem by phone and suggested the closest repair option. I was able to get my car back on the road and head home.

Taking any consideration my history with my S5 50 transmission. After the initial charge , they waited and waited for a not so expensive part to come in and put it in a cost. These days, I don’t know anybody that does that. You’re not gonna find a more solid shop with good people.”

After I was in a car accident, AAA towed my car there, and before they even started troubleshooting the vehicle, they were checking on me and making sure I was okay.
I’ve been to shops that felt very transactional, but here they take the time to understand both you and your car’s needs. They’re transparent about what actually needs to be repaired and have never pressured me into unnecessary work or charges.

“Tom and Jacks is the only shop I’ll take my cars to. Very honest, they don’t overcharge you or try to sell you things you don’t need. They genuinely care about helping you get back on the road. Have had them work on everything from tune up and brakes on my daily to steering rack my fun car. Recently got a quote to do my steering rack done on my 2000 Firebird and it was a great price and they had it done quickly.”

Repaired the next day. Very friendly and informed front desk too… though I live in Santa Cruz, I think I’ll save my maintenance work for when I visit family in Burlingame. Top notch!”
