Friendliest and cleanest motel we have stayed at in a very long time, unfortunately just for one night. It all starts with a smile at the reception. We thought we had made a reservation with hotels.com but it didn’t work. We appreciate still having gotten a room with a good price anyway. Save the fees, call and make your reservation directly. Clean, friendly and well maintained.

If there was a way to give negative stars I would . Complaint filed BBB,civil suit pending.
This man ran my card for $151.29 at 1158 pm. The payment was deducted from my bank balance which I showed him o n my phone he claims he did not receive it so I had him call his credit service provider .
The provider confirmed payment was received. He would not refind me or give me a room key . He made me stand outside in the cold until after 2 am and he never provided a room
He still has my money and i slept in my truck

San Marcos was exactly what we needed for our short trip to Solvang. The rooms are spacious, cozy and has a fridge! They also have such friendly staff. The manager, Ray, was really kind and even sent me a very sentimental item that I accidentally had left behind. Faith in humanity seriously restored because of his actions and genuine care for his business 😊 I highly recommend!

The location is very convenient, specially if you're coming to Solvang on a budget. The room was clean, enough towels A/C.

Friendly, helpful staff, very clean, did i say very clean rooms. Older, simple, but still functional. Price was right for us. Close to hwy 101, but no highway noise. no cigarette smoke odor in room. less than 5 minutes to Solvang. We plan on staying again.

The Good:
1. Location: Very accessible via the 101 and close to Solvang.
2. Very quiet- Guest really stayed to themselves and they were not noisy.
3. Easy and accessible parking.
4. Easy check-in
5. Price.
6. Clean despite rooms being really old.
7. AC worked fine and so did the fridge.
8. Good hot water.
The Bad:
1. The key to the room was an actual key. They need to invest in a system that locks/unlocks doors with a card.
2. Even though checkin was easy. Nothing seemed to be computerized. All paper I guess.
3. Door knob was broken.
4. Room needs a really big upgrade. The bathroom was very outdated. Clean, but outdated. Light lap was broken. Tub was pealing. Shower curtain had a tear.
6. Bedding was from the 80s.
7. The most important upgrade it needs is BLACKOUT CURTAINS!!! The curtains let in so much light it was hard to try to sleep in.
8. It really needs some common area for guests to relax and unwind with some wine.
9. Also no iron in the room or coffee maker.
Would I stay here? By myself maybe. With my family, no way!
Also not sure if they rent to people for long stays but there was this old dude that had door wide open and was in his boxers shirtless laying on his bed. Not the Motels fault but yo some common sense ettiquete.

Simple.. efficient and friendly welcome. In its original state (80s) but clean and sufficient. The Motel 6 is reasonably priced at over $200.

Older Motel but recently refurbished. No complaints, - bed was comfy, shower was hot, room was clean and serviced daily. Very reasonable price for this area, would definitely recommend this lodging.

Thank you for having our rooms ready and clean. The service was great. I can tell these are hard- working people. Bring your own shampoo and body wash. They provide the small hand soaps and towels. We had a small fridge and microwave, and the room was cozy. Nicely upgraded, nothing fancy, but they want your stay to be as comfortable and accommodating as possible. There are great views all around, and it's a few miles from Solvang, the town we visited. So worth it!

The prices are good for the area, and the room was clean. Old furnishings. Tv has scant cable channels. The amenities are 3 small bars of soap and a squeeze packet of shampoo and conditioner. The 800# that I called to book a room at Quality Inn up the road told me that I just missed it. Interesting that I used my credit card here and at McDonald's, and was compromised with fraudulent charges. McDonald's didn't swipe, but the 800# had my name, my address,my card number, my code on the back of my card, and my card expiration date. ? My advice is to book rooms at their website, if possible.Walkability: Close to restaurants

My family and I stay here every time we come to Buellton. Ray, the owner is always extremely friendly and welcoming. The rooms are basic, clean, comfortable and economical. There isn't anything bad I can say about the San Marcos, we love it here!

Friendly proprietor, clean rooms - but we got bit by fleas that were hovering by the bathroom light!Rooms: There was a microwave and midi-frig.Safety: We were able to pull up our car in front of our room.
