Vivian the worker was no only so slow but she was telling us all wrong information. She also never once smiled or had any type of customer service. This took so long and a terrible experience!!! Don't come here

I recommend not renting a car at budget. The system employed by these companies is terrible. It took us an hour to rent a car and they tried to upsell every person in line and it really took forever. I am not blaming the employee, I believe that they were just doing their job. But this predatory practice from budget is unacceptable. Every other car company at the terminal in this level treated their customers and their customers time with respect. Save your time and money and avoid budget. Hopefully they will change their business practices.

When I went to pick up my rental, I was given and Electric car. Was not shown around the car, how to charge it, was not told where the nearest charging stations were at. Was given the keys and told it had a full charge and was good for 250 miles. I pulled out on the freeway and five miles up the road in downtown Hollywood, my car flashed that it was at 5% and to find a charging station. I was unable to find one in the middle of Hollywood and unable to make it back to the airport. Roadside assistance arrived to tow the car, however they were not towing it to where my replacement car was, so I had to get an Uber to get me back where I needed to be. It was all a horrible experience.

I have returned cars here before but never actually rented a car from this location until last week. I have to say it was a lot easier than I thought. Only small detail is that I don't think they have a proper fastbreak counter, it's shared with Avis' preferred on the second floor of the parking lot. They didn't have my rez paperwork ready but it was done pretty quickly and there was no line. The car was brought out very quickly.

The staff at the Budget rental return at the Ontario California airport was extremely helpful. They helped me retrieve my cell phone that I had left in the car, without any judgment or hesitation. Made the early morning drop off so much smoother and enjoyable. Thank you!

The vehicle we got at LAX had a keyfob that wouldn't recognize the vehicle, but the vehicle was already turned on and so we didn't realize that we couldn't lock the vehicle with the dead keyfob until we got to our destination in downtown LA, more than 40 mins away from LAX.I called budget and they told me that they would have a replacement SUV saved for me at the Burbank airport, and that a replacement vehicle couldn't be had elsewhere. So we then drover another 40 mins after cancelling other plans to Burbank only to find out that they didn't have an SUV for us. They tried to offer us a pickup truck, but that wouldn't work. Then they tried to offer us an EV, but we had no idea where the EV stations were located in LA nor did we have one where we were staying. I let them know that the budget customer service had guaranteed us a replacement SUV and that's why we drove to Burbank, but the Rep told me that customer service doesn't speak for the vehicles they carry on the lot. Finally, he gave me a mini-Van to rent.When I asked about compensation for my wasted time and energy on holiday, they refused to discuss this with me and told me that this was an issue to be taken up with the LAX branch. Truly a very disappointing experience, one that I have not had with other rental agencies.Of note, both vehicles available for rent very dirty when given to us.

BUDGET rent a car is COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. The car we ordered wasn't "available" so they gave us a filthy substitute. And, with EXPIRED REGISTRATION TAGS! We're in CA and the plates were from NY! Got pulled over twice and had to talk our way out of the mess! Never never never ...EVER rent from BUDGET. They are the worse. And, when presented with evidence of the expired tags and getting pulled over twice, they didn't even blink! No offer to even reduce the cost or otherwise. Never renting from them again and neither should anyone else. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!

had a reservation which budget emailed me a confirmation about at least 3 times. got to the Burbank airport and they said your car SUV is in space 23 we go upstairs no car in space 23 or any where around there. so back to counter. much typing on the computer. all we have are electric cars. we take one need to get to the hotel. get in spend 15 min trying to figure out how it works finally get on the road. 10 miles down the freeway realize it only has 80 miles charge about 1/4 tank. get to hotel. call budget tell them about it get a case number and are told go to the local budget and get the car you reserved. go there next day no cars available!!! needless to say .........use another car rental place.

Not sure how to rate yet. I'm picking up my car tonight and I'm having anxiety reading up customer reviews about how bad the customer service at this location. We love renting from budget and usually rent from them whenever we travel and haven't had any bad experience so far. I'm hoping I'm not one of those customers who had terrible experience.

I filled up the car just before returning it to the rental car return at the airport. The indicator needle on the dashboard showed that it was more full than when I first picked the car up. Staff would not give me a paper receipt at the time of return. Said something about the 'ticket was closed automatically when I drove on the lot.' when I got a recept via email, it showed a charge for fuel, even though I returned the car full. No opportunity to contest this charge after the fact. Very fraudulent practice!

(1) At Burbank, CA, airport, did not get the Toyota Camry I booked (2) instead, got an old VW Tiguan with 51k miles and an underpowered engine (3) both sun shades (driver and passenger side) broken at hinge from the time of rental, which I didn’t notice them due to car pick up at night time. In 95F temperatures, a lot of time spent driving while holding sun shades up with our hands!

If you rent from Budget at Burbank/Bob Hope, go to the Avis line. Even though there is no line at Budget, and a gal working the desk, you still wait in the Avis line. I was unaware. They are spelled completely different and the bill says Budget, but you get to wait behind all the Avis people too. Also, whatever is used to mask the odor of the prior driver’s cigarette smoke only works for the next 2 hours. The other 4 days you have your non-smoking car, you get to smell cigarette smoke. There is a sticker on the door advertising a $450 fine for smoking, so I wonder if the last renter got whacked. Won’t go back here.

Budget/Avis car rentals provided excellent service to their customers during Labor Day weekend. They extended protection to customer's reservations and provided cars amidst holiday rush, compared to other "car rental" companies that just wont honor reservations and run out of cars, simply had a first come first serve basis. Unreliable car rental companies when you needed it most.

My husband arrived in Burbank today to attend a funeral. I had booked a reservation for him through Costco Travel, as they had the best price of $400 for 7.5 days. I must have missed it in their fine print, but they will NOT accept a debit card for payment. This resulted in my husband scrambling to find another option and wasting an hour of his day. He was not the only one. He said about 50% of their customers were being turned away. I will never book again with Budget/AVIS, even if they have the best prices. I do not care what their excuse is for not accepting debit cards, the name matched the ID and should be an acceptable form of payment. I even offered to pay with my credit card, but as I am in Washington and not present, they would not even allow me to do this. Good luck staying in business! Thankfully, Alamo will allow you to rent a car with a debit card and was only $23 more through Costco

The pickup was horrible. The person at the counter, Julio, was very rude and didn’t know the meaning of customer service. I asked if I could get a small size car. He snapped at me and said, “you will get what you reserved”. Yes, I understand that, but I reserved a manager’s special or manager’s choice or something like that so it didn’t tell me what I would get. I tried explaining this to him and he just looked at me and said, “then you will get whatever I choose”. I asked again if I could have a smaller car, and he said no, you get what I choose. You don’t get to choose. He made a couple snarky remarks and gave us the car keys, we went upstairs to find that he gave us a car we couldn’t get to, as there were 3 rows of parked cars in front of it and a car behind it. There was no one from Budget in the area so we asked the person working the gate booth and he walked over to the car and said sorry, you’re not getting that out. They need to give you a different car. We walked all the way back to the counter, waited in another 20 min long line to tell Julio he gave us a car that we can’t get to. He started complaining about his team, how they didn’t tell him and that they should have marked that row off. He finally gave us keys to a different car.Stay clear of this location. What should have taken 15-20 mins, took about an hour with a very unfriendly and rude employee.
