Wayyyyy overpriced on a lot of things but some of the used stuff is priced fairly. If you find a model there you like you should check online first because the chances of it being cheaper online are very high. You may save anywhere from $80-$120 on locomotives. Weird vibes from the workers they’re not super friendly and kind of push you to purchase something. Constantly asking you if there’s something in the display case you want. I once had a model in my hand that I was going to purchase but I was still looking and I was forced to leave it upfront while I was still looking because “he didn’t want me to have to carry it” yeah right buddy you definitely thought I was going to steal it.

There is no other train shop like it. They are as incredibly knowledgeable as they are helpful and friendly. They treat all train lovers, young and old, with respect. The shop is very well stocked, and they do all types of repairs. Los Angeles is lucky to have them.

My recent visit to Train Shack was fantastic! The salesperson's in-depth knowledge of trains was impressive. Their patience, helpfulness, and enthusiasm made finding the perfect set for my child a breeze. The staff's passion for trains was contagious, making the shopping experience a delight. I highly recommend Train Shack for anyone looking for model trains- it's a must-visit destination!

The Train Shack is a AMAZING train store for many model railroaders trying to invest into the model train hobby. It is a well organized store showing off there different type of scales showing off Ho, N, O Gauge and Z scales. There customer service is on point showing off that they can fix model trains and construction. Some prices can be unreal but so much better than online prices. One example is a HO Scale Amtrak P42 with DCC retailing for 349 dollars at Horizon Hobby but 140 at the train shack. The store shows off a HO Scale layout consisting of a F59PHI and 2 superliners and a SP freight train. O Gauge with a SP train. But for sure check out the train shack over in Burbank, it's not really kid friendly for little kids that like to touch things but its really cool to see model railroads in action. I will definitely be returning.

On Thursday, February 6/25, I mailed two locos in for repair.
On Saturday Feb 8th, Todd from The Train Shack, left a message the locomotives arrived.
Todd informed me of the backlog, and assured me the trains would be looked into.
Quick response from Todd , is welcome in today's fast pace.
I look forward to doing business with Train Shack.

Would say this is an AMAZING place for little kiddos who like to touch. I have a 4.5 and 2yo who we love going here. The staff is so kind and understanding of them there is an entire kid section in the front with train table to play. My dad has a model train set we buy him items from figurines to trains to setting supplies here. We have bought both second hand and new items. Also accessories like catalogue and train hats.

Thank you Train Shack! Mindy, Todd, and Noah were so helpful to my wife and I get an O scale Bump 'n Go Trolley. We used it for a window display at Chevalier's Bookstore to recreate a miniature Larchmont Village! Train Shack has everything model train related and at fair prices. They are super knowledgable and friendly - Highly recommended!

Come into the store and was made to feel like I didn't belong. I am new to model railroading and had a lot of questions, but the two gentlemen working there didn't seem to have the time to even look at me besides help me. I left feeling like my business wasn't needed or wanted. I will stick to Whistle Stop in Pasadena, and online stores before returning to this shop.

Very knowledgeable workers. Great advice for what you plan to build. Great services for locomotive repair jobs. Good model train options of many scales. Clear examples of layouts you could construct of multiple scales such as N, HO, and O. They have a lot of basic supplies to begin your railroad or make additions. They also sell books and magazines.
