Dr. Jessica Ortiz is an amazing vet and one of the best I have ever seen! She is very caring, knowledgeable, and an honest vet. I don't know what else to say but that she is one of the best and if you were looking for a sign to switch vets here is your sign

Update to my prior review. Recently called this clinic about 9:30 am on a Saturday morning as my dog had started bleeding from her vulva, vomiting and urinating frequently. I was referred to an urgent care facility that didn't open until noon after being told there were no VCA appointments available and they were not seeing emergencies.

This was my first time ever coming to not only this vet but to any vet. I felt very welcomed by the customer service rep in front and then by the RVT. She was kind and caring towards my kitten and I. The vet, Dr. Cisneros was super attentive and asked all the good questions. She explained everything to me throughly and even answered any questions I had. Everyone there was very friendly and made both me and my kitten feel comfortable! I'll likely be taking my kitten back :).

I absolutely love this VCA location- the staff are amazing. The front desk, the vet techs, and Dr.Chae care so much about the patients- I felt very safe knowing they were taking care of my cat. My cat loved the super sweet vet techs and Dr.Chae, he wasn't nearly as anxious as he's been at other vet visits. Thank you so much for the extraordinary level of care VCA Burbank :)

It has been my second visit here with my new kitty from the shelter and so far, I've have been pleased with both visits. The staff, technicians and doctors are very nice and patient with all of my questions (being a new kitty mom, I've got a lot). The great thing about adopting a cat from the shelter is they give you a free voucher to use at any VCA Hospital (as they are contracted with them) within 14 days of adoption for up to $250 coverage for your visit, so I've been utilizing that with my last two visits. They also gave me a goodie bag on my first visit which included informational pamphlets, a laser light toy, a small pink star story which is filled with catnip and a lovely VCA pen lol. BTW- my kitty has been playing with the catnip pink star toy for the last week and has been in love with it ever since she got it! I've gotten all the information I needed from all of my asked questions, as well as the proper treatment and medications. I will say that I had an issue with the final payment at checkout which was completely different than what I was quoted in the exam room ($300 at checkout vs. $50 quoted) but I think that this was due to lack of communication with the front desk and technician; nonetheless, it was a quick fix and finally, I was charged what I was quoted for in the room. The best part is they've got a bowl of candy in the waiting room for you to snack on while you wait or take home. Overall, I feel safe bringing Jade so far and would recommend this place to others.

Some of the vet techs seem caring. Otherwise? This place is a stone cold business, seemingly not interested in building relationships with clients or pets. I'm a veterinarian's daughter. I only started going here because the people who gifted my dog to its original owner went here. Even they are getting tired of it. This clinic tries to (over) charge for everything they can. They wanted to charge around $1,500 for the removal of a small growth on my dog's face (including putting the dog under). My Ohio vet dad, who even did current research with colleagues in the California area to confirm, said it was something that should have cost only $200 and the dog did not need to be put under. Now recently, another emergency VCA who saw my dog after a Pitbull attack told me to get a blood test rerun If my dog seemed lethargic in the months following the attack. My dog's lethargic. The blood test factor showed we could be facing cancer or a thyroid issue. I explained this to this VCA, hoping I could get the blood test when I went in for recent immunizations & flea meds but they wanted me to pay for an additional separate checkup before giving me the blood test. My dog doesn't need to check up. It needs the blood test rerun. I've been trying for well over a week to get them to agree to this. Even with paperwork from the emergency VCA saying my dog should have the blood test, these guys won't even call me back now. I've been tolerating their low level of concern for my pet all along. I honestly don't know how these guys are operating. The only person I ever talked to who seems happy with this place is someone who is already roped into their monthly care package. Really wishing I could get this blood test to ease my concerns ASAP but otherwise will switch vets. What a corporate nightmare, this place.

They've been great with our two cats for nearly three years already! Easy to call for help setting appointments or asking questions about pet care.

I brought my cat in because he’s been having some respiratory issues and the staff here is amazing. Our vet tech was named Robyn and she was so nice and respectful with my boy, the Doctor Mrs. Cisneros was incredible and patient with all of my questions. I was so worried to bring him in but everyone was so amazing it helped a lot. They also sent me home with a first time gift bag which is awesome :)

It’s extremely confusing. I called in for a rabies titer test. The lady who made my appointment said the result would be back in about 2-3 days. So I brought my cat and they did a regular check-up but I didn’t ask for it just the blood test and turns out to be 2 months, I drove all the way for nothing. Then they didn’t give my cats vaccin documents back.

First time going to a vet where I feel like they really care about your pet. The staff is very friendly. Really helpful they even have a coffee table with goodies . They are very organized , clean, and caring. The facility itself is very cozy and welcoming. Thank you for making this a very nice experience

I rarely write reviews any more but I owe it to people who want to take their pets here. Don't. Try to find a more local hospital with reasonable prices or call Banfield and get on their waiting list. I took a risk and tried something new. First of all, when I made the appt for the rabies vaccine, they did not tell me they only offer the 1 year rabies vaccine, so if you need the 3 year one definitely go somewhere else. Also they told me it would be $300 for the 3 year vaccine if they did have it - but my cat has never had anything but the 3 year before & I have never paid more than $90 - $120 for all of her vaccines at one time. Also, most disorganized staff. I had to talk to THREE people before I could get her rabies vaccine certificate from them. I was told by the first two people I spoke with that they just "don't do that". Apparently untrue because I'm staring at it now. Also, the absolute rudest technician I have ever come across. You should feel safe bringing your pets here & with people like that working here, I can tell you, I do not & definitely won't be coming back.

My dog had a problem with a possible defect in her paw. A vet tech saw my dog and told the vet what she found, the doctor, without seeing my dog, referred my dog for surgery.Ridiculous. Then I went back and ALEXIS, at the front desk was on the phone when I entered, there was no acknowledgement whatsoever and every call that came in she answered and made me wait. I came for aPick up and when I mentioned I had left my dog in the car so I needed to rush, she told me that it’s basically my problem because I could have brought my dog in with me. If I wasn’t in a hurry I would have. Very flippant, will not bring my dog or cats here ever again. I got great treatment at Paws and Claws….
