decent workout, permanent hearing damage.
The workout itself was great. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and I broke a decent sweat. But honestly I think it is irresponsible how loud the music is. i’m typing this as my left ear is still ringing 9 hours after the work out. During my workout i couldn’t comprehend what the instructor was saying half the time because it was droned out by the loud EDM music. I get it, they want to time the high effort stretches to start with the beat drops (Corny af in my opinion), but you don’t have to completely decimate my eardrums at the same time. Don’t get me wrong i like EDM just as much as the next gen z and millennial, but this was just stupid. I don’t want to sustain permanent hearing damage at age 27. I’m very disappointed about this and i don’t know i might just sue them if this actually turns out to be permanent.

A Barry’s Con Story
I’ve been a member since 2019 and have taken over 250 classes. As an avid Barry’s fan, I’ve even taken classes in various cities across the country.
I was swindled out of classes and money when an employee approached me to purchase classes through him, presenting it as a special promotion. I was made to feel like a fool when Barry’s removed the classes from my account. After trying to get my money back from the terminated employee, I approached Barry’s, noting that this person was an employee during the transaction. Barry’s denied my requests and further made me feel like a fool. I provided evidence showing that I was unaware the employee hired by Barry’s was a thief. How was I to understand the logistics of a promotion offered by an employee of the organization?
Michael LaMasa was the one in communication with me and insinuated that Barry’s is unable to help me and take accountability for the people that they hire. It’s a very unfortunate situation that I wanted to bring to light so that this does not happen to any other Barry’s lover and goer.

I love Barry’s, my sister introduced me and ever since then, have been hooked! My fave instructor to take & the one I look to book with is Peter on Sundays because 1) he’s such a sweetheart and remembers people by their names 2) his playlist is always ? (yes, I’ve gone out my way to tell him that too) - def makes me want to twerk-it-out each class

One of a kind. There is no other like him. His class just hits in all the ways. Music that lights your soul, programming that crushes your body but you keep coming back for more. He’ll push you to the edge, never past it, because he knows you got that covered on your own. It’s hard to take a basic Barry’s class after having taken Matt’s because you develop less of a tolerance for mediocrity.

I walked in and the front desk people initially were very warm and friendly. The place was clean and the amenities are great. Unfortunately it was my first time and I dont know how everything works. They told me to go get settled in, told me where the lockers are and then the coach would call 1st timers to the room to go over things. He did go over the workout structures but unfortunatley I was the only first timer that wasnt told where my spot was. I still dont even know if I was supposed to choose a spot or they assign it for me..The coach was very kind and went to the front desk to ask whether I was on the floor or tread first but came back and I had to ask again what number Im on. I saw the signs that say to preorder but I thought that was an OPTION to be more efficient and we could still order after class.. but what do I know because I'm new right? no one is even mentioend it out loud, but I read the signs that dont specify that you can't order a shake after class. I go up to the front desk looking forward to order my shake and she tells me I have to wait one hour for a shake because I didnt preorder. I expressed how unwelcomed I felt and explained that I wish someome told me. I just wanted to give honest feed back because I felt a little out of place and didnt know anything yet.. She with a passive aggresive smiley attitude asked me if I heard on the loud speaker from the coach to go to the front for first timers. YEA i did and I was there listening.
Its one thing to make a mistake but another to give me a (excuse my language) a half A** apology all while blaming me. These classes arent cheap and I wanted to get the most out of the experience.
If they actually cared or had good customer service she wouldve had a shred of empathy and gave me a genuine apology and/or offered a free smoothie, a discounted class or even a free class.
I'll never come back here. If you arent apart of their culture and come as a newbie dont expect to feel like you belong or are welcome. I'm surprised by the other reviews because unfortunately I didnt get the same treatment like they did and I dont know why..
I'm new to burlingame. I just moved here and have tried f45, orangetheory, yoga and many more classes to see what I like. This was the worst and not worth the hype.
I wish I knew her name but its the blonde girl who works at the front saturday mornings.

The workout here is challenging, but absolutely do able. Modifications are always given, allowed and accepted by the instructor without judgement. But in all honesty, 50% of me comes for the killer workout and the other 50% for the community. The instructors are amazingly kind, motivating and personal. Same with everyone that works at the front desk. They welcome you by name and always have smiles and seem to enjoy being there. I would suggest to anyone who is thinking about coming, to try it out.

Great workout and parking across the street. The front desk was very sweet when I requested a different position for class. The locker rooms are a bit small but they are clean and filled with amenities, showers and bathrooms. The workouts are very fast paced and can be difficult to keep up with if you are new or need any modifications. Very nice location altogether.

It was my first time at Barry's Bootcamp and I had an amazing experience !! Tiffany was our instructor and I felt she was really good at pushing us to our limits. Came out sweaty and feeling great. Thank you Tiff! We also tried the Barry's and Brunch shake and it's honestly one of the best shakes I've ever had at a shake bar. Chris, the manager, was also so friendly and accommodating. Thank you Barry's Burlingame! I will definitely visit once I'm back in the area :)

have been going to various barrys locations in the last 2 months and burlingame is unlike any other in the sf bay area! great parking, great eats, and great crew! will never forget my first class experience with carlyn! she is epic! i just learned today that she is leaving this location and onto somethinf bigger / better! tough to fill her shoes for sure! i will never forget being placed on a waitlist at another location and not being able to get it, scrambling to make it to burlingame, she put me on standby instead of a waitlist and eventually got me in! i saw carlyn at the acai bowl place and offered to treat her but she insisted to stick within her quick lunch break! will never forget that super kind gesture! especially in my early stages of barrys! i also love the smaller class sizes and the instructors actually getting to know you, how to pronounce your name + pushing your envelope! well worth it for first timers, much more one on one time for sure!
