Crystal Springs Golf Course, located in San Francisco, provides a stunning golfing experience with breathtaking views of the Crystal Springs Reservoir. Designed by W. Herbert Fowler, this 18-hole, par 72 course stretches 6,515 yards and is situated within a 32,000-acre wildlife refuge, rich in wildlife, including turkeys and deer. The course is well-maintained and offers a challenging layout that requires precision due to the abundance of trees and fast, hard-to-read greens. Players can expect long fairways and enjoyable holes, such as the challenging 6th and 12th. While the course is popular, especially on weekends, play can take over five hours. However, the friendly staff, including a standout employee named Bobby, enhances the experience for many visitors. The course also features a driving range with reasonably priced balls and convenient services, such as golf cart pickups from vehicles. Despite some concerns about pricing and pace of play, golfers appreciate the beautiful setting and welcoming atmosphere, making Crystal Springs Golf Course a recommended destination for both locals and travelers.
Beautiful mature course, well maintained. Lots of wildlife around. Clubhouse is dated and the highway is a bit annoying on some holes but definitely well worth your time. It is walkable but I would recommend a cart. There are some steep hills.
