Death Trap - Unacceptable Evacuation Time (~48 minutes, when national standard is 10 minutes.)The hotel has four sides, with three emergency exit stairs. Two of the stairs are located in the same corner, while the third is on the far corner, leaving two corners without any stairs at all. On the two sides with only one staircase, there are 60 rooms per floor. While my room has two queen beds and a maximum occupancy of 4, let’s assume 2 per room for approximately 120 people per floor in the two sides which are accommodated by only one fire escape. With 7 floors of hotel rooms, that's a total of 840 people who would need to evacuate using a single, narrow, single-file fire escape staircase.Considering the national standard: a flow rate of 18 people per minute on the stairs and the same average travel time of 12 seconds per floor, it would take an astounding 48 minutes to evacuate all 840 guests on just one side of the hotel. This is not only unacceptable but also a clear violation of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard, which mandates a maximum evacuation time of 10 minutes for a building of this size and occupancy. The hotel's evacuation time is nearly five times longer than the national safety standard. In the event of an emergency, such as a fire, a 48-minute evacuation time could make national news as a catastrophic tragedy for guests and staff. It is imperative that the hotel management takes immediate action to address this serious safety concern and bring the building up to code. When I spoke with management about this issue, they acknowledged their awareness of the problem, stating it is a very old building, and that luckily nothing has ever happened. This response is unacceptable and demonstrates a knowing and willful disregard for the safety of building occupants. To the fire department and/or other government officials responsible for approving this building's safety measures: shame on you for either accepting bribes or being so utterly incompetent that a layperson has to point out your complete failure in a Google review. San Francisco is a city forged in fire, and we should never forget the lessons of the past or repeat the failures that made those fires so tragic.I strongly urge potential guests to carefully consider your room position until the issue is resolved. Your safety should always be the top priority, and this hotel clearly fails to meet even the most basic safety standards. Also, the walk from the elevator to the room feels like 110 miles. Of course not, but it is VERY long. Also, both rooms I tried today are very stuffy. They used to have doors that open, but someone so smartly installed a solid pane of glass over those sliding doors, keeping anyone from getting any fresh balcony air into the room. Great risk management there.Significant departure from the strong Hyatt brand I have come to know and trust

Close to airport, free shuttle bus, luxury beds. All you want in an airport hotel?

Not one of the better experiences at a Hyatt for a Globalist like me. But it was still okay. First, club lounge is still closed. And this is a pet peeve of mine - their gym cardio equipment doesn't have any entertainment options. I tried all 4 treadmills and not only do they not have Internet connection (i.e. - youtube or Netflix), even their regular TV on treadmills aren't working. Lastly, (hopefully this is an aberration - the bathroom when we checked in didn't seem too clean. There were at least 5 hairs in the bathtub. That made my wife not want to take a soaking bath. To be fair, it's still a pretty good hotel since it's a Hyatt Regency. Workers are polite, rooms look pretty new and clean (except the hairs). Free breakfast and parking honored. We were there for my daughter's dance convention and the ballroom was great too. Just probably in the lower 1/2 of the Hyatts I've been to.—————————————Update: One year later and things are better. Room didn’t have any hairs this time. So an extra star. We also got a bay-facing room on the lower floor (we requested lower floor to have easier access to the convention meeting rooms downstairs) - and enjoyed the view. I also really like their new water-dispensing system (see picture) - which dispenses cold water for free and pretty reasonable prices for sparkling and flavored soda (environmentally friendly). They also offered 4:00pm late checking proactively. Unfortunately, lounge is still closed. I’ll be back again next year for another review!

The rooms are sub par 1.you can hear the folks from neighboring rooms talking; 2. one of the towel I got had a hole in it; 3. The room windows were very dirty - I had the bay view room and all I could see was the muddy windows. 4. The bed mattress wasnt comfortable.

I have stayed on a bunch of Regency hotels but this one will have to be the best for me. The manager, Cecilia, was just on top of her game, emailing days ahead a couple of times regarding my stay if there's anything I need during my stay. Don, the receptionist was the absolute gem getting me the room I preferred (even though I am just a discoverist) and orienting me where the places are within the hotel. There is a free shuttle you can utilize from and to the airport which I think is a plus so it saves you bucks. I appreciated that there is a vending machine and a microwave on every floor. Not all regency hotels have that. Tons of elevators around. This hotel is huge so when they offer to help you get your luggages in your room (especially if your room is far from the elevator), just take it. Lol. They have a phone number that you can text when you need anything during stay and they respond promptly. I could have given 5 stars on the room if there were slippers and bathrobe provided but there was none. But overall, I would definitely come back at this hotel.

DON’T STAY HERE! The only thing that it takes longer to get to your room you is hot water. After walking 6 miles around the perimeter of the building to your room you get into your room only fine that there’s no hot water and you have to wait for Willy Wonka Oompa Loompa to carry it up fumble by fumble together enough to make it hot. Seriously it’ll take 15 minutes on the fifth floor to get hot water in room 530. It’s an international airport hotel and you can’t get coffee before 6 AM. Servicing an airport with cross country flights that leave early in the morning it houses, flight cruise and yet you can’t get a cuppa coffee before 6 AM. Even cheap hotels you can get in room, coffee service not at this hotel. Sign all over the hotel. Say if we can help you with anything please ask and yet when I went to the front desk to ask for coffee before 6 AM. I simply told me it wasn’t available so much for help. Room service trays from the night before are still in the hallway the next morning. Lots of giblets of paper strewn all along the hallway, indicates that the hallway carpets haven’t been vacuumed in, God only knows how long. You have choices, exercise them, stay somewhere else. You’ve been warned!Rooms: No in room amenities no in room, coffee maker, and microwave. No way to make up for the hotels, poor service and provide your own coffee before 6 AM. Even low class hotels have in room, coffee makers.Food & drinks: Food is good, but very overpriced and the service is poor to mediocre. Service has not commensurate with the luxury level of this hotels reputation.

Stayed here during the Star Trek convention. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, with the exception of the person who checked me in. Beautiful views from the 9th floor, although the Fitness Center on that floor was inaccessible.

It was good. They have truck parking, which is a plus. Right across from the bayfront there's a nice walking area. Lots of nice restaurants around. Too far from the city for me but definitely a beautiful place.

The staff here was amazing. Our flight was delayed and they were great at accommodating us. It was also pretty easy to get around from the location. Especially easy to get to/from airport.

Clean and good enough rooms, with phone access enabled to unlock the door so you technically don't even need to go to the desk to check in. There's definitely weird different ways that they try to make a few extra dollars off of you though like charging for the water in the room, providing a beverage fridge not a mini fridge as their website suggests, charging a lot for early check in, and playing ads on the TV as you walk into the room. The ads were perhaps the weirdest part as it almost seemed like they were trying to convince you you would enjoy your stay and pay for more things at the hotel. The room was otherwise ok, though blinds opened up directly to the inside so those stayed closed the entire time. They have refillable bottles for all the supplies (body wash, conditioner, shampoo, lotion) though weirdly the easiest refill, hand soap, was a bar.

The bed was hard as a rock as were the pillows. Although the restaurant has great service and are quick to serve, the menu lacks depth, especially the dinner menu.

Outdated, old rooms which are not exactly Hyatt quality. My shower was broken, room furniture is old and broken in different places, lot of wear and tear. Given this hotel is right next to San Francisco airport, and a great location for people flying in and out or for the airport crew, they get enough business not to update the hotel. Staff is friendly and caring. Not much choices to eat. It’s good to stay for a night and fly out.Rooms: Old, broken fixtures, lot of wear and tear.. felt a bit dirty even though the room was clean as the carpet is really old.Walkability: There is nothing around except some warehouses. But excellent location to airportFood & drinks: Limited choice. Limited cuisine.
